It wasn't a turbo problem, you didn't use the correct oil feed fittings. The company you bought the turbo from provided you with restrictor fittings for a ball bearing gt37r/gt40r/gt42r turbo. (as seen in your other videos). Your turbo was wining the entire video as if it wasn't getting enough oil. In your first video showing where the turbo failed, you can see that the turbo has the strongest thrust bearing, the triple oil port thrust bearing. One of the biggest reason i don't recommend the knockoff turbos, is that the wheels are never the correct specs, they are alway 2mm+ smaller than the garrett version. Fucking thank you Turbo Lab! I'm so tired of people saying you need to run restrictors on turbos that need a lot of oil. It's nice to see someone professional like you comment on videos like these, it really helps get rid of these false ''facts'' that keyboard warriors keep posting.
I also made a video on this topic, it's good to watch because you potentially will learn other things you didn't know. This turbo couldn't blow oil out the exhaust because it wasn't getting enough oil to leak it out. The siren noise of the turbo is a tell tell sign that it wasn't getting enough oil, I'm surprised the tuner didn't know any better because he seemed knowledgable in other videos but he will know for next time if he reads this comment.

Joe Maier hey if you don't mind I have a 2007 v6 sonata 234 hp I know not the first choice, but I want a sleeper. What things should I do to my car as in prepping it for increased horsepower like exhaust intercooler before you turbo the car if you do not mind
I've been saying get an Evo manifold and turbo forever now. You guys are finally going to have turbo that will spool quicker, get fresh air (Because it's going to face the correct way finally) instead of barely having any air get in the turbo efficiently. That Evo turbo will be plenty for the setup as it is now. Next you guys needs to get an Evo 8 ECU, and really get this Sonata to the next level. Big brakes should also be on the agenda to, I predict that tuner will get the new Evo setup running very efficiently. Throw some ATS-V 4 piston Brembo's on that bad boy.
That's the thing with tuning bikes or cars, sometimes you just got to suck it & see! Great series though & I'm interested to see if you reach whatever goal you've set yourselves :-)
Dang. You Guys Are Turbo Cursed. I Still Have My 120 Buck Ebay Turbo With No Blow Off Valve And 2000 Highway Miles (in 3 hour 200mil incriments lol) Pushed By A 3.8 Liter V6. It Chatters Now But Still Boosts To 10PSI And Never Gave Out Durring Its Tune (turbo had highway 1800miles when it was tuned for 10psi). You Guys Are Too Far To Give Up Now! Keep It Up, Third Times A Charm!
then dyno operator needs to stop switching the engine off straight after a pull, it's almost at instant, no wonder your turbos don't last. cool project though
Classic Affection You know absolutely nothing about why I was turning the car off after a brief idle. Those were not pulls. Those were very short tip ins and drives not pulls. I attempted two pulls neither with boost. The room was 130 degrees and was much more worried about the viscosity of the oil on the mains/rod bearings than a stupid $100 turbo genius. There is almost zero airflow on a dyno heat in the trans, oil, and overloaded cooling system is more worrisome than not turbo timing a turbo after a minimum of 20 minute cool off period. Notice how many breaks we took. That was for cool down. But please tell me again how I should liquefy the bearing meat.
This was confusing. You started out with too much boost than it was too little boost. The whole time the exhaust sounds like its got a leak. The whole car sounds like my chain saw only my chainsaw sounds better.

That shop has weak ass "tuners" or they are just screwing you over hardcore for money. It's just an air/fuel RATIO! Start rich and get leaner! Reduce timing then advance little by little at same time.
