I don't know but I feel like she did a lot for him but he didn't do any special for her at the end. He told that he would never love the way his grandfather loved, but I don't see the difference. At the end, she died unhappy... because she was a free spirit. She sacrificed her freedom for being with him, but he didn't sacrifice anything for being with her...

I feel the same way, i think it would be better if she didn't stay with him, but then there wouldn't be this whole heartbreaking story.
