I have seen it more 5 times now. But it is awful in ancient Korean time though. When the king sleep with a concubine everyone in the palace knows about it. I will be so ashamed if I am one of the concubines.
The "neck grab" part should have been followed by a sensational kiss so my death could have been pronounced there and there😭😭😭I love their intense reactions 🙃😝🤭
I loved this drama so much. It's such a beautiful drama with such good acting. Both actors portrayed the emotions so well I cried sm while watching this. What hurts more is that this is based on a real story so what must have the real couple gone through. He bearer sm pain throughout his life. Betrayed by so many ppl and then his son dies from measles and his wife also dies and his father was killed and his grandfather abused him.
Done watching this series and I must say that the ending is somewhat what I'm expecting. Indeed, a perfect yet satisfying ending. Overall, I love it from its first episode 'til the last episode. Kudos to the lead actors and the production behind it

MY HEART BREAKS for the Crowned Prince, his father was killed because of mental issue, his grandfather king mistreats and abuses him at times, his right hand man cannot be trusted 100% and the love of his life just cant say she loves him back YET 💔🥺 when he said he wants to be a good king for his people who are suffering because he knows what suffering is. I FELT THAT. superb acting!
If she wanted she could say that she loves him but she did it not cause she wanted not to be a concubine, she wanted her freedom. If she is a concubine she can't leave the palace anymore, she only can wait for him and that's not the live she want at this time even if they love each other so much. If she sayed that she had really loved him she will get in danger caus of other people they disturbs it (a live as royal member had the risk to get killed anytime for power and so on).
Jungo, the leading actor, was interviewed saying that he only ate chicken breast to tone his abs for the bath scene. He wouldn't eat with his fellow actors. After the scene was taken he could now eat other dishes. 😀
I felt so sorry for him having a grandfather that killed his father by putting him in a box. How can someone learn to love others with an upbringing like that. I am glad he found her even though she was quite unwilling and their story seems kind of sad.

That's a bit of an exaggeration. It was his way of showing her and letting out his anger because she as a court lady said something against him. You do know they beheaded people for just this thing and here he was just controlling his urge to get really close to her probably kiss her.

He was repressing but at the same time it was all his suppressed feeling s that he felt and the anger and disappointment he felt when he realises Deok Im saying she has a crush on crown prince wasn't her feelings. Added to that he saw her with another man and also said the same in the scene that he thought he knew her but didn't. So yes I meant saying this action of his as domestic violence is an exaggeration and that's all I meant.
I felt like he was a lil bit toxic too ! And it was so subtle nd realistic !!! Also it's more because he was the highest level monarch in a time where women were just tools and showpieces. That's why this love is more Tragic than happy.... You can see that the FL is not happy being his concubine even if she loves him !! Its so blatantly visible it just makes you sad for her. He kept saying he owned her which was true cuz kings literally Owned the court maids. Court maids were slaves. ( I HATE that so much... The very idea that a king had so much power on people like that is toxic )
