BMW Z-cars are beautiful no doubt about that. It's unfortunate to see that the Z1 and Z8 are no longer in production I would've loved to own a new one I do own 4 BMWs and I can say with a big smile BMWs are very handsome and reliable cars.
I think a few things to caveat. If you're comparing the LCI to the 2019-2022 models, the brake vents didn't change unless you're talking about sans M-Sports package. The M-Sports package and M40i always had brake vents look that way. The biggest changes to the LCI model are: New colors, New Wheels, Redesigned front end, and no longer making available a non-M-Sports package option available. (Previous SDrive 30i models could opt out of the M-Sports package, and also open up additional colors like Mineral White and a dark blue [forgot the name of it]). I had a 2021 SDrive 30i Alpine white with Magma Interior, and now I have a 2024 M40i Portimao Blue with Cognac. It's such a beautiful car and great ride. I'm a very proud owner and ensure I go to as many car meets as I can. Such a rare and striking vehicle. I agree that the rear end being wide and "flat" gives it a great stance on the road. The "wrap-around" tail lights give it such a unique look. VERY large trunk, This is a daily driver for me, and it can do most of everything I need a car to do. Main thing I don't like about the trunk and therefor the spacer between the trunk and cabin is that the speakers are mounted there and heavy bass rattles it around too much. The interior is very beautifully designed, my only complaint is the high-gloss piano black panels in there that aren't difficult to maintain, but you gotta be careful for scratches, cause this kind of material scratches very easy. The V-Spoke satin finish wheels are incredible and I even get compliments from super car owners about them. I do have an issue of some of that satin wearing off and I've only had the car since Oct 2023, and it's June 2024 now.
Great comments Horseman..as I recently "reminded' a new z4 Handschalter version owner....make sure your xPel PPF installer covers the piano black trim..am sure he'll thank me for that suggestion. Did that for the piano black trim on our x4 M40i. xPel has templates for it so it's an easy add to scope of PPF work for the installer.
I would like to know that too. I do wonder if it works with the newer iPhones (15/16) as the need a higher whattge to charge it. I guess I will have to try in my 2019 M40i and hope it does not fry it!
I used to own a boxster as wel, and it was nice, but just a bit too hard and sporty. Then I bought the Z4 E89 (the second-gen, hard-top model) and it is sooo extremely sexy and exclusive on the interior as well. while driving perfectly. I truely fell in love with that car. And then the new model came out, the G29. And although it is a magnificant car, it just lacks the exclusivity, the looks, the genuine feeling of a traditional roadster that the E89 still had. IMHO, the E89 has never been surpassed by any of the roadsters by BMW. Maybe they should as the two women that designed the E89 back again for the 4th model of the Z4, and hope it will be such a perfect car like the E89.
I have the 2019 version of this in the same colour configuration. I do like the 'chrome' rims on the wheels, better than the all black rims on mine (although a nightmare if/when you curb it!).
What type of steering wheel adjustment option available with Z4 model. It looks like manual adjustment based on side view stalk switch. Is electric steering adjustment option available?
Yes...and uses iDrive7 with physical buttons and w/o the wrap-around iMax theater video screen...certainly more driver-oriented than current generation video-game oriented BMWs!
Matt, totally agree. Again another 'gem' in the BMW line up that is indeed overlooked. A proper sports car. Cloth top convertible. [Yes shares the platform with the Toyota Supra...no bad thing. Another excellent sports car......Coupe] Oddly, only this week at a fuel station and there was a Ferrari... haven't a clue, instantly forgettable as are all Ferraris...along side a BMW Z4 M40i in red. The Z4 was without doubt the better car. Just made so much more sense. And a ''fraction of the cost''. Yes a brilliant UK sports car. [H'mmm, not so sure about those new alloys though. Pity. Previous design much better.] Cheers Matt.
Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder, it’s the best car yet a total flop as nobody touches this generation of Z4, even BMW M division turned its back. Better than Ferrari in your eyes I bet you haven’t bought one if you honestly believe that it’s better than Ferrari…a VW Beatles will never be a Porsche in the real world 😂 I have owned every single generation of BMW Z4 except this current model.
"Aggressive" the goto word for every car reviewer. I struggle to understand how a conglomeration of steel, plastic, glass and aluminium which are all inanimate objects can ever be described as "aggressive"

The only car that would get me out of my 2020 red Z4 m40i is a brand new red Z4 m40i 😂
Love mine and always get admiring comments and looks ❤
I feel the same way with my black Z4 m40i. I could only replace it, with another. Red is fabulous too, as well as the Blue. 👍
It looks stunning and bright in San Fran. Red Metallic. Isn't it? Probably better than Sanremo Green Metallic.

Have they sorted the wireless charging pad - it fries my iPhone on my 2019 model!

Iv always ❤ the BMW Z4,infact I prefer it to the 718 boxster.

I like the Z4 but I’d go with a GTS 4.0
There are so many lines all over the front and sides of this that it becomes gaudy and confusing. The Boxter is a work of art and smooth lines.
@@Digiphex I even prefer the previous Z4, the E89, over this G29.
Before they destroy this can we get a Z4 M followed by M Comp and CSL

Electric? No. It goes up and it goes down, in and out. It's manual... lever down below.
Rejoice! Do I see they have retained physical buttons for key controls (e.g. cabin temp)!!
Yes, they are buttons to adjust climate inside the cabin.
Yes...and uses iDrive7 with physical buttons and w/o the wrap-around iMax theater video screen...certainly more driver-oriented than current generation video-game oriented BMWs!
If I sold my 2019 model, I could not think of what car to buy (the Boxter is silly money!). I would probably buy the one he is sitting in!
Matt, totally agree. Again another 'gem' in the BMW line up that is indeed overlooked. A proper sports car. Cloth top convertible.

I touched it an bought one so not nobody eh.....
Could you please name the colour of this particular red shade?
Yes of course, this is San Francisco Red 👍🏼
@@SytnerTV was it always "San Francisco Red" in G29?
Prefer the red with Cognac trim, mines Alpine with magna red….m40i best car ever
red with brown interior?
"Aggressive" the goto word for every car reviewer. I struggle to understand how a conglomeration of steel, plastic, glass and aluminium which are all inanimate objects can ever be described as "aggressive"
Why do you even care, doesn't sound like you even like cars
If you have a modicum of sense? I think the word aggressive is very apt.
Compare this to a Fiat and you’ll understand.
it cannot match the elegance of a Mercedes SLC
What type of steering wheel adjustment option available with Z4 model. It looks like manual adjustment based on side view stalk switch. Is electric steering adjustment option available?
It's manual adjustment only
