I’m learning how to play bebop on piano but this is the best breakdown I’ve ever seen on how bebop musicians actually think. Instant like.

This is a great lesson, Richie! I like how the teaching in this episode is very casual and conversational rather than sounding like you're reading a script. I really liked this.

Thank you for lifting the fog surrounding bebop, all is now crystal clear. The examples are great: typical and so clearly explained. We all owe you big time Richie, thanks again for the huge effort you put into this.

What a spectacular lesson! One of the best ever Richie gems. Loved the m7b5 and altered variations. I personally enjoy the patented Richie chuckle when he likes a particular phrase. It would be interesting to see how some of the other bebop masters phrases look in comparison to Parker. That video took an extraordinary amount of work to produce. Thanks Richie!

Man, I try to get into this, it’s just too advanced for my ear. Are there any artists that play a more simplified slower version of jazz to start with?
With a rock/pop background Jazz just sounds like rambling linear movements to my ear.

    thanks for the collection.
i am a little confused about the notenaming ...
many diffenrent named Notes - sometimes related to the II-chord, sometimes to the actuel chord. Not realy confusing but in one case it is false ...
