Nice video bud, I’m liking the channel. FYI that 2011 is not an LAPD special edition model. The special edition was made for LAPD’s elite Metropolitian division (which is home to the department’s SWAT, K9, and Tactical Response Platoons) and marked with the word “Metro” on the side of slide. The “Metro 2” as it was called (it was the 2nd 2011 made for Metro), was only available to members of that tactical unit. It would also have a stainless steel barrel, “114” stamped on the bottom of the magwell, and special serial number. What you have is an extra gun that was made during their production, without the special markings or stainless barrel and offered for general sale. Still, a very, very cool gun and an excellent duty weapon.
Yep I picked up the very same combination because it was available at my local gun store. I originally didn't want the cut out front serrations but to avoid the wait of building mine it was worth it.
Hi, nice video. The reason the guide rod front end and the plunger has no black finish applied is because there is currently no finish technology that will withstand that part being torqued with the plunger tool every time the gun needs to be disassembled. I had plain stainless plunger on my customized 1911 for that reason. I do think optical sights are the way of the future. But, there is nothing in the market that meets what I want. RMR appears to be the most practical option. Only concept wise, I like the Aimpoint ACRO better, but it is said to have a ridiculously short batter life which makes it not for me at the moment.
@@echo_research_and_development acro battery isnt a big deal 7 bucks a year for the batteries i change mine out about every month in a half my coworker who has one on his duty gun does it once a month
Lightening * as in not as heavy. That’s what the X-series serrations are. They reduce or lighten reciprocating mass of the slide helping reduce felt recoil.
Good. You will love it. BTW, this video is for the general public. Do you really think regular people know what DLC coating means? It’s either black barrel, silver or bronze. 🤣

Are the LAPD ones steel or aluminum frame?
Just got my order in. Staccato P with the DLC barrel and the x cuts, it comes with the ultimate bundle.
Ah. Perfect combo. Think about getting XC in the future. If you love P, you will LOVE XC.🤣
Excellent and thorough review on a most excellent modern day firearm.
Thank you. 👍🏼

If you check out my other video for staccato p 5 inch, the plunger tube and guide rod is blacked out from the factory (staccato).
@@TacticalExpedition Finish CAN be applied. I guess it's a matter of how each buyer feels about finish wear as time goes.

@@boomee78 Yes. It is certainly doable. It's just that I'd rather not when others offer a lot longer life.
My Staccato P5 DUO came with black out guide rod.
Right now, it has about 2000 plus rounds and the guide rod finish is still looks new.
Gonna end up ordering one just like it.
No regrets from me. 👍🏼
X-series serrations on Slide , I don't know about lightning cuts.

I wonder what one of these will cost in the private purchase market
I don’t think it will be available at all IMO. It’s their special gun with custom serial numbers that I don’t think anyone would sell it. 😭

Very beautiful. Thank goodness for Salmon hunter. 😉

Not for purchase for California residents. We can buy that exact one in TX.
Perfect. I live Texas except the weather. I lived there 6 month when I was in junior high. Holy shit. So hot. !!!! Hahahha

I thought that if your not LEO in CA,You can’t purchase Staccato?
You can purchase it through PPT in California. Look for it on Calguns.net. Sometimes they have it. Hard to find.

I’m not sure. I think it’s steel. How do I find out?
I can’t say I care for the slide. I do like the black barrel and shorter trigger
