Great video! I've started work on a belt following your basic idea, and I'm stoked. Just finished priming/painting the cylinders, and I can't wait to finish the rest!
That was awesome. I made mine too but I like pouches you can actually use. You gave me a lot of good ideas for my next one. The advantage of using the balsa wood is custom sizing your pouch. Great job!
Hey Chris you could make it lighter and more functional by using travel q-tip boxes do pouches and so you could have the flashlights be a tool in the belt by attaching Velcro tape or magnets to the lights themselves and the belt. btw YOU ROCK!!
I Think that it might be cool to use Something like amagic the gathering plastic snaptop case for the pouches. So not only would they be super light, but you could actually use them to hold things. but overall, nice job
This is what the world needs most..Other then world peace ..lol..More vids like this..Loved it..Great job my best aussie brother..I find what we call popsicle sticks you call..Not sure..What is this tasty treat you speak of..thats on a stick and frozen obviously..lol...Love Bro
Excellent video. New sub. A few suggestions if you don't mind. First I'd use something to seal the wood i.e. stain or thinned wood glue. second, For a primer for metallic paints I'd use black. A gloss black makes for a more shiny finish. Third for filling any imperfections in the surface try something like Epoxy Sculpt. I know its a little more expensive (about 30 us dollars for a pound) and you'll have to get it online but It has a longer work time and you can use your hands to work it. These things shouldn't up the cost much.
.. Only thing I have to ask.. The flash lights.. why not just keep them well..Flash lights.. Glue or find another way to put the Clip on it and then you have some what of an actual Utility belt.. I saw about the pouches someone mentioned why not use some actual pouches.. Yeah maybe not for a phone but Cash, Card, ID .. somethin lol..Smokes and a lighter..Keys .. All good though Your videos are awesome !.
Is there any way to possibly use craft foam in replacement of the wood? I know it's not the sturdiest thing known to man, but I figured it would be cheaper (assuming that the wood is the most expensive thing out of everything)
This is fantastic!! I have one question I would love for you to answer. Why didn’t you just make one pouch and make a mold and casts? Wouldn’t that be easier?? U might’ve answered it in the video but I didn’t catch it.
Hey Chris I know this is a older video but I just watched it today like 100 times lol but what are the measurement you used to make the wood pouches ?? BTW I love your work man I've been using most of your technics for some of my cosplay work :-)
Also if u need help like needing to know some imformation on something marvel or dc or starwars or startrek just give me an email and i will try to get back to u, and i will help u on something u need to know.
Ok not to be a hater seriously tho just putting it out there maybe it cost so much because you bought 4 loot crate exclusive x files flashlights and those aren't cheap because they only made a finite amount of them so at most $20 a pop and btw you could have bought a Woden pole chopped it up hollowed it out and make a Woden lid for it for like $20 for all four so besides over spending by like $60 good craftsmanship but major waste of $
Thanks Chris, Shoe polish is now a firm fixure within my weathering products. Genius!!!
I could literally watch these videos all day.
That was awesome. You're an artist
+Elton Alwine Thank you sir!
+Cosplay Chris Again, beautiful work. congrats
Amazing! I think I might use this method to make a belt of my own for my Turbo Man from Jingle All the Way cosplay!
Man he has come a long way since then
Great video! I've started work on a belt following your basic idea, and I'm stoked. Just finished priming/painting the cylinders, and I can't wait to finish the rest!
+USSCrazybat Awesome man :)
That was awesome. I made mine too but I like pouches you can actually use. You gave me a lot of good ideas for my next one. The advantage of using the balsa wood is custom sizing your pouch. Great job!
I don't think anybody could get as badass as you
excellent tutorial. gonna use a lot of this for my Cable cosplay belt. many thanks
Chris awesome job it looks AWESOME!!
Nice mate great job your pool is so green
+street skater Haha last time i checked four talking turtles were swimming in it :D
Hey Chris you could make it lighter and more functional by using travel q-tip boxes do pouches and so you could have the flashlights be a tool in the belt by attaching Velcro tape or magnets to the lights themselves and the belt.
btw
YOU ROCK!!
Dude, you should start a workshop or something, just saying! 👍
Omfg that was sick! Cosplay Chris is a god
I Think that it might be cool to use Something like amagic the gathering plastic snaptop case for the pouches. So not only would they be super light, but you could actually use them to hold things. but overall, nice job
nice idea

Very nice. I might use some of these techniques for a Beast Boy type belt.
Wow you really impressed me with this project! Damn!
That looks pretty cool! !

+SpacePirate's Hobbies Thank you for the sub and the tips :) Very insightful!
Okay okay shit looks legit. Love it
Hey Chris!!!!!!!!! i want to see you do a vampire batman cosplay:)
.. Only thing I have to ask.. The flash lights.. why not just keep them well..Flash lights.. Glue or find another way to put the Clip on it and then you have some what of an actual Utility belt.. That square piece of trim with the circles carved in it is called a rosette.
I love your videos

ingenious. I love it.
awesome :)
+Dali DIY make one! out of cardboard!!!
This is fantastic!! I have one question I would love for you to answer. Why didn’t you just make one pouch and make a mold and casts? Wouldn’t that be easier?? U might’ve answered it in the video but I didn’t catch it.
There's a lot of options for the pouches, styrofoam, Eva foam, really any foam, cork, cardboard, you name it you can use it.
eva foam would also do a good job in lieu of the wood
im probably using glue sticks instead of the lights. I'm a recent fan, but I think you r great. keep up the good work
When you said this costed about $250 to make, I almost clicked out of the video.
That was for a belt he BOUGHT he said it would cost at the absolute maximum $1:30
+NinjaTheWizzard $130 srry
Lol so true
I made and screen accurate version of batflecks belt it only cost 25$
I watched it just to see what he did. I made mine out of crayon boxes
someones been working out nice calluses
Awesome dude subbed
Can you possibly do some gauntlets, a belt, cowl(?......) but Greg Capullo inspired? I can't find anything weirdly.
I personally use those things q-tips come in to make pouches.
The metal clips look similar to clips i use for holding paper onto a drawing board, i got mine for pennies at my local art shop.
That's amazing
Awesome video, you got a subscribe! :)
Hey Chris I know this is a older video but I just watched it today like 100 times lol but what are the measurement you used to make the wood pouches ?? BTW I love your work man I've been using most of your technics for some of my cosplay work :-)
That's sweet, what grit sand paper did you use?
Good job brother. Subscribing.☺
+G Liddy Thank you so much, man :)
what could i use for a cheaper pouch for the belt thats not wood?
8:14 "Screwin' them in the back" 0.o
omg your pool, you need to shock it lol
The only thing I'd do different is use a fine filler like gesso to get rid of the wood grain.
can you do a video where the pockets on the utility belt work
awesome!
U MISSED OUT, should've had that thin balsa wood flip down and inside be the grappling mechanism like in batman begins
my good dali diy
Crazy
When I make a utility belt I like to make them functional so I can use them for cons
if I made it I would leave the bat symbol off the belt
Same
I'd make it look lit it was there at one point but fell off in battle.
will you ever tackle toy ships?
Nice
💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻
wouldn't it be nicer to have actual storage possibilities with this belt? like taking plastic boxes, who are light weight and cheap.
Cool
I wonder how you'd make a replica WWE title on a shoestring budget
How much did this cost you too make?
He said it 6 times in the video
+Trystan Ellioty I know, thats the joke
wud like to c someone make a full functional batman begins/dark knight utility belt
Do you buy you shoe polish in bulk?
I love the design but who would have thought that wood and metal is Lighter than pure urithane
are you a new zelander because i live in new zeland and bunnings is new zeland
to get rid of the roughness i would have just used sand paper
You could have used money clips.
Looks like the batfleck
any way to make an ironman suit?
I meant for pouches...sorry.
im a giant geek!!!
Make a video of batman halmet
I think i saw a dropbear in the background
this video could be alot shorter and still as good
Milan Kessels nothing wrong with half an hour of Chris
A cheaper version is using modded crayon boxes and old belts
his pool is green
You do cool stuff! You don't have kids, huh?! LOL
dude u should make a man of steel suit. and say i suggested it and put my channel link in the description
Bruhhh haha
Also if u need help like needing to know some imformation on something marvel or dc or starwars or startrek just give me an email and i will try to get back to u, and i will help u on something u need to know.
That intro do
Green pool????
The buckle would have been better if you'd thinned it by half the thickness
why is your pool green
You are to black shoe polish as MooseFigs is to electrical tape
That's pretty bood, but you could also make it out of foam for 30$ us
Great job but i wouldn't exactly call a $250 batman utility belt a budget piece? Lol
Ok not to be a hater seriously tho just putting it out there maybe it cost so much because you bought 4 loot crate exclusive x files flashlights and those aren't cheap because they only made a finite amount of them so at most $20 a pop and btw you could have bought a Woden pole chopped it up hollowed it out and make a Woden lid for it for like $20 for all four so besides over spending by like $60 good craftsmanship but major waste of $
Joseph Cunningham he said the flashlights were only $5 a piece
And that he got it from the 2 dollar store
Eny buddy notes the pool
Do you have twitter?
Spellcheck
I'm a nerd again.
hi
great you could not do better
$1us=$1.47aus
What's the point in making a utility belt thats not functional? Making it with chunks of wood is pointless!
Going to make a belt for 20 bucks and end this kids channel.. Like first off, goodwill, dollar store, thrift stores and even more creativity
That's not $250 to make .. Sorry ..
booh
eva foam would also do a good job in lieu of the wood
