I prefer SQ for international routes, but great for you if you want to try another Garuda Indonesia flight. I can recommend some great GA domestic flights with awesome landing views, such as Labuan Bajo and Manado.
Thanks a lot! I have to say I love the Indo food, but for the whole 14hour flight from Europe-Indonesia I would also want a good infotainment system and therefore prefer QA/SIA/Emirates. Agreed Singapore Airlines is stellar, I just had a flight from SIN-CGK with the A350 (review online this month) and had one of the best experiences so far. Next week I fly to Labuan Bajo with Batik Airlines, so I'll experience the landing views there :)
You just have to ask! They’ll almost always happily invite you to the cockpit! I also had a chat with the captain and first officer, great crew from Garuda Indonesia!
I also choose codeshare flight from Madrid with Qatar and from Doha with Garuda Indonesia. Is there re-check in at the transit airport in Doha? And how to find out the Garuda gate in Doha when transiting?
No, you just have to go trough the regular transit security at Doha airport. You find the gate on the information screens in the airport with your flight number. A big advantage is that Garuda is at the gate closer to the central terminal, so you don’t have to walk as far… (Doha Airport is huge)
The bagage transfer is handled really well! They just seamlessly transfer it between Qatar & Garuda, so you don’t have to pick up your luggage in between. It’s a good partnership
Honestly, as an Indonesian, I would never consider GA for an 8 hour flight like this. I mean, for this "flagship" route, they don't even bother to invest in a new IFE screen. Sad But then, seeing how empty the plane is, and considering the fact that QR is always busy with people connecting to all part of the world, this seems appealing to me hahaha. I love Economy Suite (whole row to myself) 😂
I mean I don’t really cared about the IFE as I mostly tried to sleep during this night flight… That being said, the IFE was actually pretty OK, except for the lacking touchscreen. The remote thats in your armrest worked great tho! All be it a little outdated… Still it was a great experience with Garuda in Economy Suite😎
Indeed the travel load on this particular flight was very low… funny enough I encountered some Dutch people in the flight from Amsterdam to Doha who also flew from Doha to Jakarta with Qatar Airways… Meeting them back in Jakarta they told me that their plane was packed and almost no empty seats, whilst this Garuda flight had quite a lot of space still available
@@welldone12345 I think because QR is 1 of a “transit” airlines who visit CGK bro. No wonder Qatar or other middle east airlines full. Most of the passengers final destination is not in the mid-east countries. Unless Garuda wants to open a new route in Europe with a transit in Doha / Dubai, maybe the load factor will be great.
For the airplane age and infotainment: Yes. For the ambiance, food and service, Garuda is just more special. All in all Qatar Airways is the better airline, but it's nice to get the Garuda experience once in a while!

actually Garuda should add flight schedules to KL, Bangkok, Hong Kong, etc. Rather than opening a new route that is low load passengers
idk why on this route garuda has so few load, even qatar airways is always almost full and qatar has 3 daily flights

I think this route is not necessarily low load, but a lot of passengers just take the “easy” Qatar flight x 2 instead of Garuda…

I think a lot of people are unfamiliar with Garuda Indonesia, thats why Im happy to make a video of the airline and put it online for the world to see
