Garuda Indonesia First Class from Jakarta to Amsterdam on Boeing 777 - EXCEPTIONAL

- TURN ON THE SUBTITLES I took this once in a lifetime (at least for me!) flight on Garuda Indonesia First Class on their Boeing 777 from Jakarta, Indonesia to Amsterdam, Netherlands. The flight took 14.5 hours. I then took Turkish Airlines to Istanbul. This video shows both flights, as well as the connection experience in Amsterdam (which was at the Amsterdam VIP terminal) and some sightseeing in Istanbul like the Blue Mosque, Basilica Cistern and Hagia Sophia.
I take epic trips and document as much as I can to bring you an objective view.
It was an exceptional trip from start to end. Garuda Indonesia provides limousine service in Jakarta, which picked me up from my hotel.
Upon arrival, I was escorted to check-in and through the security to the First Class lounge. There was only 2 people in First Class that day.
The flight was a night flight, departing Jakarta around 11pm, and landing in Amsterdam around 7am. One of the best part of this trip was the VIP service in Amsterdam Airport; Garuda pays for this service for you when you have a connecting flight. They pick you up from your plane with an Audi, and then drop you off at your next gate with an Audi. The lounge itself was superb.
After my 3 hour long layover in Amsterdam, I took Turkish Airlines to Istanbul. The flight was very short; only 2.5 hours, and the food was great.
I added some of best sightseeings in Istanbul to the video.
My videos will NOT be the usual trip reviews where only the flight/ride is shared. I will share as much about the whole experience that makes the trip unforgettable, and will hopefully inspire you along the way to take that trip!

Garuda Indonesia Nusantara Airlines Best & Top.
What a great report - thank you for sharing. I'm glad you enjoyed the trip and seemingly got your money's worth from the F&B selection! I've not personally travelled on Garuda but the seat, food and particularly the service all looked to be very top end. The only things that don't appear to be quite in keeping with the rest of the offering is the portion of caviar (quite measly, although you may well have been able to order more) and, similar to Etihad, the very mediocre Champagnes and wines selection, which are someway behind those offered by the likes of Singapore and Emirates. The ground service in AMS was different class though - I just wonder how viable continuing to offer the first product will be for Garuda given the overheads, coupled with the very limited routes, resulting in the almost deserted lounge.

One of my secrets to look like in 20's even I am 40 already.
And in western world with all their terrible fine dining, plastic surgeries and botox plus all their horrible daily consumption they call fancy but very poor, really cannot change their very poor nature.
World under western world and middle eastern domination is so fucked up because their real poor nature, poorest in the world, the real third world.

Hi there...cheers.. I am your new subscriber.. Well glad that you chose garuda, i hope u did have a wonderful experiences along the flight, of course with a touch of authentic indonesian hospitality thay garuda has to offer.
Anyway, as from your video... I see alot of and i mean huge lot of room to improve for garuda indonesia (esp for the first class passenger services). Right from the front, like chauffeur service, check-in, the lounge, up to the flight cabin. To me , generally it is lacking of "the first class touch n experience". For example, dedicated and personalized c/i counter, greetings and welcoming gesture from the first class lounge staff, also need to improve the serving skill for the waiter at lounge(hire or train them as if it is at a 5 star hotel), the food also can be improved somehow. Most important thing is THE ENGLISH SPEAKING/CONVERSATION skill of all garuda's staff, if i compare to MAS or singapore airlines how they talk, how they approach, how they handle with a proper and proffesional english. We really need to working on it, i often saw the fa cannot speak english fluently.
Next, we move to the cabin. As per video, the fa didnt welcome/address the first class passenger With name (it is important as it means personalized service and it looks like he is the only passenger on it), even after he reach the seat, still the fa just address him with "this is your seat SIR". also i think the first class seat needs more ambient lighting to make it more classy and expensive elegant. Back to the english thing, i am afraidthe writing of the menu needs to be audited, there could be some mistakes (cmiiw), as on the "CUT FRESH FRUIT'S" why dont you just write, "ASSORTED FRUIT" or "FRESHLY CUT FRUITS" and the "FRUIT'S" wth... Who approved this writing anyway???
All in all, GARUDA INDONESIA is a proud Indonesia's airlines, and i am proud of it. For the hospitality and the service also not to forget the signature smile is second to none! The world has approved it!!! So keep flying high Garuda... Thx cheers..

Cost cutting has been severe I guess - what’s wrong with the ugly menu format and Amenities? To go from Loewe branded Amenity Kits and 3 different set menus (huge menu back then) to serving un branded amenity kits and kung pao chicken in F…sad.

Service isnt refined and at some parts u could see no attention to details..the old signs on d first class lounge could be seen..used airfreshner bottle..let first class pax to wait at d airbridge when d plane isnt ready..not leading u to ur seat..wine pouring with no formality and the most hillarious is the suite door couldnt be closed and the cabin mngr just went away leaving d door half closed😂..indonesian mentality shines through
