how do I scan items to be put in the problem solve bin when there are extra items in a tote that doesn’t belong? usually I could click “problem” on the keypad and put that an item is damaged or unscanable and put it inside the problem solve tote bin for someone to pick it up but when there’s extra items in a tote that the system doesn’t know about, the monitor usually is ready for the next tote to be scanned and will not let me click on the “problem” key on the keypad..
looks like your doing pack singles. i used to work at a Fulfillment center too but i think it was called flow pack or something like that. you pack multiple items in a various boxes. i heard hitting rates in flow is easier than singles sibce flow you pack more than one item. is that true?
My wife used to work doing something very similar to this for yrs on end. She ended up getting Carpal Tunnel. Had surgery on her hands and they have never been the same.

There's a machine later down the conveyor than scans the barcode she sticks on and prints and sticks the shipping label on it from that. They want to maintain anonymity of what people order, I guess.

It's not that hard like any job, you learn and get faster as you go, I worked in a packing and shipping dept back in the 00s, and what always made me laugh is when someone just wanted 1 small tiny item like a washer or a few nails or a single spark plug, etc, haha! We shipped out farming eqipment, so we were shipping out everything from pressure washers to post pounders and 15,000 gallon water cisterns. :-)

@@jeanineirenewilliamshendri8237 Inbound (stow,doc inbound receive) Start at 6:00pm or 7:00am.. Outbound (pack, pick and outbound doc ) start 30 minutes later. Most people new hires start in Pick or stow.. Not common will you go right to pack.. They might cross train you into pack during high volume times.. But you would need to transfer over.. Pack singles is the most desirable job at my FC.. Stow is super chill but can be very boring, pick is just crazy fast paced and you need crazy high numbers. its hard on the body. I'm not sure on Doc the only place I Have not worked.. I like Pack singles the best then stow..
They put all the young veral kids in the easiest jobs and put 90 year old grandpas upstairs to unload trucks when there’s 200 big tall 7 foot 300 lbs guys in pack.. a shame they’re so biased

I’m not sure as fare as rates but yes I do (Pack-Singles)

Most of my coworkers who pack at Amazon have carpal tunnel. Some have had the surgery on both hands 😢
