One and Murata are kings to have delivered a resolution to this arc. That combined with the season 3 anime news is so exciting. What a great time to be an OPM fan.
This chapter was really wholesome i like that one gave Garou this ending. Im all for Garou getting redemption. His goals had conviction and reason behined them they were just flawed and misguided. He just needed some sense beaten into him.
One thing that makes Garou more worthy of redemption is that he didnt kill a single human throughout his hero hunting. He only hospitalized them.
Im glad we finally get to see garou acting his age and get insight for his taste for women.

Garou mentions to Bang about fighting Blast, but in this timeline he never fought Blast because Saitama intervened with his zero punch after Garou says "Thank".

They still fought right after Garou defeated Bomb and right before Garou 1 shotted Ugly Fuhrer.
Never thought of it that way but yeah, I noticed that kid Garou and teen Garou are completely different Garous. When Garou was a kid, it was obvious he was always rooting for the monsters, which is why he ends up doing what he did, by becoming a monster as a human. But then we notice that Garou... isn't exactly in league with the monsters either. I believe that while Garou still stayed true to his goal to become Absolute Evil, he began to notice the difference in the monsters and began to see that they were too evil and vile, with no redeeming qualities. Garou doesn't hate humanity, he just hates popularity. He roots for the underdog. He grew up learning that actual monsters, while some may have understandable motives, want nothing more than humanity dead or as a food source. This is why Garou never sides with the monsters, despite claiming to be one himself. Either way, it's been a fun journey with Garou and I'm glad his story has come to a satisfying conclusion.
Tareo may actually become a hero in the future because he was inspired by garou.

Everything about this arc was such an enormous ride from start to finish, and to finalize it not only with this chapter, but with the announcement of Season 3 feels like the best possible payoff -- better than any of us were expecting, even! Great stuff from ONE and Murata
Also I don't think Garou has to have an Oedipus complex to like the Yellow Ranger. I think a lot of guys just go for girls like that, and it doesn't have to be weird lol. Also ALSO the Egpytian tattoo is looking good bro

Garou having a crush is sort of cool. Because by no means has a crush or girls played a role on his quest and focus. That’s very admirable.
A lot of people don’t like Garou being this non threatening but I don’t mind. I still enjoy all the havoc he was able to cause.
Not sure I liked this ending more than the webcomic. Not only did it feel more weighty to catch small glimpses of Garou again, but he had a completely different attitude as Job Hunter. He didn't want to fight anyone and simply wanted to be left alone while he searches for a new source of power on his own. All in all I think it was a cooler decision, from tanking all of Suiryu's boosted attacks with ease despite being human again, to his haircut change, and staying low by taking blue collar jobs. But the manga ending is still alright honestly, it isn't terrible by any means.
The difference between that fate and this one is that Silver Fang is here by his side. The two of them act like father and son and bring out the best in each other. Imo, this is a better ending than the webcomic's

@dunia gamers i think the start of AOT was a masterpiece, but once we got into the royal bloodline curse part of the lore, it got a lot worse IMO. It wemt from there being some weird mystery that could MAYBE be explained by science to just being MAGIC! Its all just magic. Then we got the attack on politics arc... then eren turned into a bird
if we're going by webcomic timeline, then this point is barely about two months into the potential six that could lead up to the prophecy
Garou is Saitama's Vegeta so I can see him trying to reach his level and try to be someone who can fight on par or close despite US knowing that it might not ever happen, however Saitama overall is always gonna look for that fight like its Ryu seeking the strongest to better himself deep deep down. I like that we see Garou this early too cause it really puts him in the story alot faster to be more involved with the characters while we are reading this version of OPM. Garou ultimately has take over Bangs spot in the top ranks just to be there in their final top S rank group, its just when will be known with time.
Garou being equivalent to top 3 is good, continuing Bang's legacy as the best martial artist.

I actually like the ending of this arc. It showed the mending of relationships and the building of others.
After learning about what Garou likes, other aspects of him, such as that Super Sentai character that he brought up, it would be funny if ONE and/or Murata fit in a bonus page of *Garou watching Love After World Domination* - a fitting title of a romcom anime in relation to his character arc this whole time lol
As much as garou hated popular heroes, I have a feeling he’ll become just that if he joins the hero association. He’ll essentially become what he detested the most.
I doubt he will join them considering his character opposes that even after the reform

Tbh i like the webcomic Garou The Job Hunter more cause it feel more grounded and Garou has better matured attiitude. in the webcomic Garou decide to go find a job to pay shit he cause and wanted to left alone simply didn't want to fight or hurt anyone which is a huge character development for his character because it's a total polar opposite with his former self he also seems shame with most thing he done
This was an awesome chapter, everything about it was just so wholesome, right down to Genos digging up clams in the rubble at the end. It was a little jarring seeing Garou go from villain to fully redeemed in one chapter, maybe that could have been stretched out a bit, but even that was fine

The highlights for me in this chapter is the mention of Garou's mother, Bang's dialogue about a parent and teacher, and how despite being stoic or hard with his pupil is still open to reconciliation and Garou responding by opening up. Hopefully this develops into Garou eventually acknowledging Bang all the more as his surrogate father, especially since he is personally being vouched for by Bang in great faith in the Hero Association. But I am so curious about the detail of Garou's mother being an unkind person. I know it's a reacher but if we see her to be a dangerous individual that's vital to the plot then I'm in for it.

This chapter is setting up Awakened Garou + Saitama vs God imo. Saitama kills God, but Garou gets the credit, becoming the new #1 S hero

Can’t imagine the series following the same direction as the webcomics now, with the new directions taken in the manga, felt like it added more. One definitely used this as an opportunity to expand and push the series on, making it more ambitious
Can’t wait for season 3 to come out, pray it’s a top animation studio.
7 years is over, one of the best arcs I’ve ever read
Garou's persona almost reminds me of Dark Schneider from BASTARD! . His backstory was that he was one of the most OP villains in his world but ended up getting defeated. Then he is revived and slowly turns to the good side while still keeping his cocky attitude which I guess in a way makes him an anti-hero.

Only thing more wholesome then seeing Garou & bang reunite & the reveal that Garou May potentially become a hero is Tareo imitating garou ! That was a cool panel & show the respect Garou left on him
Garou monsterfying was his own power and the fact he was this strong without getting any power ups from god definitely shows he was the second strongest person in the hero association.
This chapter was great, the end for Garou that we all wanted to see, it's so nice that Fang and Garou are together to make sure he's going to the right path this time, and in the end I noticed what is happening there, pretty cool, Murata will also follow what happens on the Webcomic about this one...
I'm so excited to see the next arc, for Murata, he's always trying to do things a lot better and complete to make the history flow exciting for readers, what we saw on webcomic will be escalating for the best, I can't wait man, the ones who know what is going to happen 👀

I like the ending, but I do prefer the build up that was occurring in the webcomic. The mysterious fate of garou’s redemption in the webcomic kept me hooked, but now it’s just garou becoming a hero
This is so much different from the webcomic and I'm loving it and I would be interested is Garou's request for a hero tournament happened so he can awaken without monsterization. Garou liking the yellow ranger was cute but then it got weird when it was revealed she resembles his mom like wtf. The chapter states grarou lost his fist that he made after hero hunting and becoming a monster, so my question is did garou reset to his original strength before he hero hunted or before he got red hair and was slowly monsterizing?
I think his strength is at "spiral garuo" level, since he didn't want a rematch with darkshine im guessing he still has the knowledge of his fighting experience up untill he surfaces from the MA hideout and fights bomb again
Garou I think he meant the power of God, he managed to control and understand all forces In universe but after losing God power he lost all his understanding toward all forces in universe it doesn't mean he lost his martial arts which evolved
for the garou liking the yellow ranger and that resembles his mom, i think his talking about the personality and attitude and according to the manga "unlike his mom, she is kind person" so it make sense but if its physically, then its kinda weird
well, english translation makes it weird...so...I think what garou means is that he likes the girl's attitude or personality cause that reminds him of her mom or smthing. And in manga they tend to make every translation as short as possible you don't want to read a whole essay don't you?
@@jet047 I'm honestly thinking it means she looks like his mom physically since it said resembles and cause her colored version has silver/white hair. It just depends what the VIZ version says about her hopefully nothing physically similar.
I'm not sure about the translation. But with the English translation, Garou mentioned all of the people he fought. One of them is Blast. But he only fought Blast after all the heroes died because of the radiation he was emitting. That was the cosmic Garou from the future. However, the current Garou never met Blast because before that happened, Saitama used Zero punch on him.

He said all the heroes he fought after he went full monster were Bomb, Bang, Flash, Saitama and Blast.

I think it's actually possible that garou could become awakened again since he did it before he could probably do it again in fact I also think it's possible for him to do it without becoming a monster like how saitama is really strong while not being a monster who knows maybe when he awakens again he could become even stronger then he was before after all he does have his whole life ahead of him.

Garou almost broke his limiter already, it could happen again. Once Garou pushes and breaks his limiter again. He could grow exponentially. Of course, not able to catch up with the level of Saitama tho.

@The dark King the whole point of Garou was that he wanted to be a hero, but compromised by becoming a villain. He's being retrained to become what he's always wanted

@The dark King the webcomic is what the OPM creater, goes by the name ONE, actually made. This manga is run by him, but they have a different manga artist (Yusuke Murata) to draw everything beautifully. There are changes to how things play out, but the end result is still the same
@The dark King in the Webcomic Garou isn't found by Silverfang. It's not until several chapters later that we see Garou just working a normal job on the street.
The beauty of this is that ONE has the chance to change anything he didn't originally like

10:47 - 10:49 makes a lot of sense, since we humans tend to feel love towards people who remind us of our parents, primarily the mother. So Garou having a crush/liking on someone that somewhat resembles him mother is pretty normal.
Imagine garou talking to his crush while 3 chapters before he was a fuarking god level threat to humanity killing literally everything with just being close to it
Seeing king take an active role in garous development would have been amazing/ hilarious. With that being said, I think this does more for garous growth.
That extra note explaining the yellow ranger Garou has a crush on, makes me think that his mother acts harsh towards him so he just think his mother isn't kind at all; but she could be like Bakugo's mom who yells and hits him but is over all kind person. I am curious to see his parents, I don't think they have a bad relationship, maybe they're distant cause of work, but if they were bad parents then that would have been mentioned if it had anything to do with how Garou turned out to be the way that he is.
Kind of expected more to be to be honest, at the very least I wanted to see like a single panel o review of what the other S-Class heroes are up to after such a battle and how it changed them to tease and hype up the next arc

We often put the concept of a limit, as the overall endgame, end spectrum cut off point for "power" or "speed" or whatever the pertinent abilities are for the character. They're full potential of their life.
There is a limit for one's current state of being. When that current state of being changes, the limit "breaks", and moves on to the limit of that relative state of being.
Dramatic, traumatic change.
In the the context of a fight, many have heard the phrase, (paraphrase) "Everybody has a plan until they're....", then that "punched in the face" is a traumatic change that causes one to either actively adapt, or go fight, flight, or freeze mode. You can insert anything, like "kneed in the nuts" or "stabbed". One can imagine a plan yet not know the experience's potential for not being what was expected....even expecting it correctly still may not hold up when it actually happens, because probability exists.
There is a reason a lot of these types of characters present concepts surrounding awareness....being able to adapt, or mimic as a reaction....'instinct'-ually....as though one is "awakened".
Some traumatic change can be emotional, and if the character's supernatural immaterial abilities like "ki", "chakra", "spiritual pressure", "qi", "vitality", "essence", gamma radiatiob, etc, are tied to emotions.....limits of those characteristic at their relative state of being breaks.

Am I the only one who felt that the end to this arc felt somewhat empty? Sure, we get the scenes that should make you feel something, but without the exchange of ideals that happened so methodically in the webcomic, everything just feels forced. Why does Garou want to be good now? Because he got his ass whooped suddenly with one punch? Wouldn't that just scream to him "this is the exact unjust system of heros and villains that I've always hated"? The character development went from "getting thrashed mentally, philosophically and physically to change his way of thinking", to "getting thrashed physically so bad that he realizes he was wrong"....
My opinion? They should have let the hut scene with Saitama and Garou talking play out. We would have seen how Saitama's lax view of heroism directly clashes/reinforces Garou's view of the "Hero/villain" system in traditional comics/media. It could have pushed him further into the whole "this is why 'that ominous future' is a necessity because of unfair hero's like this." Then, fueled by this new knowledge of ultimate strength/unfairness (i.e. Saitama), we could have seen Garou accept God's power, then things could have played out how they did.
But that's just my opinion. It was great seeing the fight and the arc, just felt like they traded action sequences and cool moments for the underlying plot of subverting traditional views of story tropes.

I like the way the mange is adapting and changing from the web comic. I think the pacing is a lot better. There's still a few things of significance that happen before the next arc and I think that the manga's pacing will allow the story to get to the next arc without immediately jumping into it, and without skipping some of the cool stuff that happens in between

Welp, time to read the Garou arc from start to finish again
I liked the idea of king wandering around out of no where in a creepy forest we the reader spot garou meditating after 17 chapters. It was way bettwr build up.
When he eventually joins HA i hope the team is going to be Garou , Metal Bat and Shiryu - monster trio
Removing a limit probably means that Saitama went beyond breaking it which is he just completely destroyed the thing all together meanwhile breaking is the earlier stage of removing it which garou might be trying to get back to.
I think Garou definitely still has access to Gods power. Blast and his squad do (I think) so perhaps Garou can use it with his own will soon? As opposed to god forcing him to use it
Garou has major protagonist vibes in this chapter. Like the story is going to be all about him, his growth, his redemption and his background, all the way up to being able to fight through the heroes on good terms, to get back to his original power level but as a human.
I had to remind myself the actual protagonist and main man leading the show is actually Genos.

Hi Zhonin, Your review on the chapter was a 10/10, you touched basis on great elements from the chapter, but I think you're overlooking one element.. The part where "Garou" asked bang about having a tournament with those key heroes he named and getting strong without monsteration, my question is why has he changed his perspective on how to obtain strength without becoming what he believed was the route to go, I believe he has 1. Merged with his sport form that visited. Taereo or 2. He was visited by that version and shown why that route wasn't his destiny.
4:10 Honestly if I had to guess, I’d say Saitama’s family has probably been wiped out by some random monster at this point. But I always pictured Saitama’s family to consist of him and his father, and maybe even a stepmom and a younger sister.

Remember in page 17 when he explain to bang who he fight it says bang, bomb, flash, blast, and saitama the interesting one is blast, blast should't fight garou in this timeline remember? So either he actually remember part of the future or he is just assuming the last punch he took from saitama is from blast since he doesn't see who is it and at that time saitama ask flash whether it is blast since he also don't remember and garou hear it and just assuming so.
Good ending of the arc and a cool reset for Garou, I want him to actually break his limiter like Saitama did.
I can't wait for the next arc man, it's gonna be hard to wait monthly from now on but hey at least ONE is gonna have more time to rewrite for the manga.

Great conclusion to this amazing arc. I was honestly surprised to see Garou with Bang that fast. I thought we won't see him in a while just like in the webcomic. I am not going to complain though, it's nice seeing Garou reform. I like foreshadowing that Garou will join hero association in the future. I'm excited to see what next arc has in store for us.

For the yellow ranger stuff, I don't think Garou has an Oedipus Complex. Psychologically speaking, Freud was wrong about people wanting to be with their parents. Most people aren't attracted to people they grew up with or around like parents, siblings, step-siblings, cousins, etc. Our brains do that to prevent inbreeding. That's why people who break that psychological barrier usually have a whole host of other problems. Despite that, while humans are adventurous, we tend to stick to what we know and are comfortable with. That's why people tend to choose partners that are similar to their parents because that's what they are used to dealing with.
That tournament will give us all the Garou vs Suiryu fight we all want
So no one noticed when Garou was mentioning all the heroes that he fought after monsterizing that he mentioned Blast who he technically didn’t fight or meet in this timeline(since Saitama travelled back in time and defeated Garou) and at the time in which Saitama defeated Garou was on the “Absolute Evil” part where he’s standing infront of the heroes and it was only after he talked to Bang for a brief moment that Blast showed up
