    Russia sells oil to India at a discounted rate, and the EU then purchases that oil from India at a higher price. Now India is Europe’s no. 1 supplier. Good for India

    1. Receive Russian gas again.
    2. Remove sanctions on Russia to be able to buy and sell goods.
    3. Stop giving money to the war in Ukraine.
    4. Lower electricity rates.
    5. Do not aim at clean energy, each citizen making their own decisions.
    6. Improve economic relations with China.

    I studied in Germany in the late 90s when the world wide web was being introduced. German universities continued to be run by 70 year old teachers who have never sent an email.
    I observed young university teachers take over in US universities. Germans are too Conservative and too bureaucratic to realise they needed outside help. And even if the outside help came the German work environment is extremely primitive towards non German natives that most might not want to stay.
    Unfortunately l don't see Germany ever catching up. China will lead the car sector of tomorrow.
    China 🇨🇳 will soon lead Germany in the area of machinery. Germany transferred solar energy technology to China 🇨🇳 but China is leading now.

    Germany is in the position its in for two reasons:
    1. Its over-commitment and reliance on China. You CANNOT have fair trade with a communist dictatorship.
    2. Its overly aggressive schedule for eliminating fossil fuel vehicles. Eliminate these dates for conversion and instead replace them with incentives and penalties. Financial and tax incentives for the purchase of EV cars manufactured in Germany, Europe and North America. The largest incentive for German manufactured cars. Penalties for gas powered vehicles that increase each year. Tariffs and quotas on Chinese manufactured vehicles.

    Germany NEVER acknowledges that they have greater trade restrictions on imports from the US than Germany exporters to the US face. Germany loves free trade when it comes to exports, but is protetionist of it's own market.
    When it comes to NATO, Germany has been a ungrateful freeloader. Germany needs to start paying for its own defense and stoo the freeloading.

    Wait, the commentator said that German car companies are already making cars in the US but then states that if tariffs are placed on German car imports that it would damage Germany's economy???
    She forgot to mention that the parts for these "made in America" German cars are coming from Germany. That is why. German car companies need to source their parts internal to the US and that is what Trump is going to enforce.

    Melinda Crane mentions that Trump could pressure Putin to end the Ukraine war by threatening more weapons deliveries to Ukraine, but couldn't Trump also tempt Putin with a "big carrot": the immediate dropping of all American/Western sanctions against Russia. The economic sanctions now in place have made life difficult for the Russians and have inflicted real damage on the Russian economy, though not to the extent initially hoped for. Still the lifting of sanctions would make life much easier for Russia and might be enough to help sway Putin.
