Hi, I was wondering if you did previously have a video on finger drumming layout here on youtube. I think I watched it a few weeks ago but can't find it anymore, just wondering if it was here or I'm hallucinating and it was on another channel.
Thanks
@@gromov- My full pad layout and setup walkthrough is included in the free Finger Drumming Starter course linked above! I also recently migrated all my individual finger drumming tutorials from RUclips to my website, so that all my finger drumming lessons would be in one place: dragonfingerdrums.com/blog
@@DragonFingerDrums ah I see, thanks.
one of my favorite drummers, acoustic, finger or otherwise.
Wow, thank you so much! I'm truly honored 🙏

Amazing! 👌🏻
Awesome like always🎉
Insane skills man🔥🔥🔥🔥
absolutely insane!
If you're finger drumming using something other than Maschine, do you still use the Mikro? Sweet jam.
This is so good. I picked up the FGDP-30, and it's been stunning so far (as a former tabletop finger-drummer ;-))
Did you happen to get one and play around?
What vst are you triggering with the pads? Sounds dynamic
I use Addictive Drums for almost all my finger drumming videos, it's definitely very dynamic and responsive, my favorite drum emulator software for sure!
I’d love to know what sensitivity level and velocity curve you’re using? I’m having a hard time doing double hits on a single pad with my maschine MK3 and wondering if I can improve it at all. Right now I’m using the sensitivity slider at 100 and the Soft3 curve and the pads still don’t seem as responsive when I do rolls and double hits like you’re doing here. Especially compared to cheap akai controllers they seem better. Do I have a defective unit?
I'd strongly recommend using a linear velocity curve (unedited, just the standard default), because the Soft or Hard curves artificially transform your hits into softer or harder outputs, which subconsciously trains your muscle memory to play differently.
Using a normal linear curve means that the output sound is exactly the same velocity as your input hit, which is best for training dynamics. The velocity curve doesn't actually affect your pad sensitivity at all, so using a Soft curve won't actually make your pads more sensitive, it'll just tell the computer to output a softer sounding hit than what you're actually registering on the pads.
It's possible you do have a defective unit, since for the Maschine I have the sensitivity slider set to about 80% and it's still plenty sensitive for me. If you contact Native Instruments directly they should be able to help you.
Wishing you the best of luck in figuring this out!
Amazing! 👌🏻
