Quick Tip: DIY Paddle Mixer

- I was in the middle of a tile job and didn't want to run all the way to the store to buy a paddle mixer to chuck into my drill. I was tired of mixing the mortar/thinset by hand, so I spent a few minutes and used what I had on hand and made one that works great. It may take a little longer to get a good mix compared to a store bought version, but it gets the job done and saved me a trip.
If you don't keep threaded rod on hand, you should. I've found a lot of uses for it over the years. You can pick up standard sizes (1/4 and 3/8) by the 10' length in the big box stores for about $6. Just look near the electrical conduit. Хобби
I like it…simple to make and simple to clean
You’re amazing! I’m gonna try it for my homemade laundry detergent
Nicely done.

Awesome, wondered if you could use a drill and improvised egg beater for mixing plasterboard adhesive, good to see that it’s been done successfully.💪💪💪🥰♥️♥️♥️
You save my money ...

Nice job. Necessity is the mother of invention but thrift was it's father. :0

tq sir now i know
genius
Tops!
👍
How can you clean it once it is done mixing?
I just spray it off with a hose before it hardens and scrub it (if necessary) with a brush . You could probably also just spin it in a bucket of clean water to clean the majority of material off of it.
Good! haha
What rod did you use?

Its good. But it is not suitable for huge quantity...
that 8x ruined your video Why you did that ...? I would like to see its actual speed
B Bobby the majority of people will skip a video that is too long and monotonous. I do too. In some of my more recent videos, I have started putting a timer in the corner of the video so the viewer has an idea of the actual time that has passed. The purpose of the video is to show how I did it, not how long it took, as everyone works at different speeds. But just to give you an idea, the heating/bending part of the video was around 21 seconds long. If you take 21 x 8 = 168 seconds which is under 3 minutes. The mixing part was about 15 seconds long, so 2 minutes actual time.
How about for kneading bread dough? I guess we'd need a bendable Stainless Steel rod, to simulate a dough hook for health & safety reasons? I'm disgusted w Kitchen-Aid company trying to charge upward of $350-$800 for the Stand Mixer components..all Made In China & they advertise these mixers are "ASSEMBLED" in the USA. I wonder if I could bend a 1/4 inch (5-6mm) stainless steel rod without a blow torch? I just REFUSE to spend that kind of money to make any communist country that rich , all at our health's expense.
