Watching a day in the life type videos is one of our favorite things to see! It provides so much context for English in action, especially your life as an English teacherThank you! Who else enjoys these kinds of videos?!
Dear Laura, thanks 🙏 a lot for an extremely useful video. A couple of questions: 1. Depending on where you live, wouldn't it be cheaper, more convenient, and certainly more efficient (and effective) to heat your house with a wood burner? And 2. Could you, at any point in the future, make a video explaining the different times of the day and their relation with meals? I'm especially confused 🤔 about the differences between supper and dinner (and lunch)!!
Hey! Thanks for commenting! So 1. Our house just doesn’t have a wood burner, it would take a huge renovation to put one in! 2. Sure! We’ll put it on the list 😊
Lauraa! How about your mom? I really want to meet her if it's possible at any point in the foreseeable. Upload a video with her as you record videos with your dad!😊!
Thank you so much for opening the doors of your home and for making a fun video with a lot of english learning… I study english, and you do A GREAT JOB to teach!!! 😉👍🏻 Greetings! Merry Christmas! 🎄 🙋🏻♂️
Saying not in a creepy way but you're accent is the most sexiest female English accent I've ever heard so far. If there was a podcast by you I would probably listen to 24/7 😅 ❤
I LOVED this video ❤🎉 Thank you so much! Laura, you look so young without any make-up 😮 Is your kitchen in two separate areas? A small space with the fridge and a larger space with the cooker and the sink, and a window? I teach English but in a secondary school, with up to thirty pupils in front of me and "in flesh and bones", with a strong sweat smell when they're coming from PE 😂 The way you teach seems to be much less tiring but you're lucky to be living together because having no colleagues nor a proper workplace outside home can make you feel lonely sometimes, even if you are talking to pupils or students six hours a day. I wouldn't do it, I'm 48 but I'm not worn out enough yet 😂 not to teach in a "collège" anymore, it's been 24 years now and I still enjoy it 🙂💪 although it's really physical 😂 Yeah, same, life has become awfully expensive here in France as well 😢 Hope the two of you will have a very happy Christmas holiday with lots of socializing times 😘
Thanks guys - really interesting!! A couple of comments from a fellow British English speaker: when I was growing up, we always called baubles (especially the round ones) “globes”. Not sure how common that is! Another thing Laura - when you mentioned “watching the news” I noticed you pronounced news as “noos”. Is yod-dropping a feature of Brummie? Some areas of the North West do it too, though some linguists argue it’s rarely heard outside East Anglia.
By the way Laura I saw a Liverpool scarf in your room have I mistaken? Are you a Liverpool supporter, is that so, I'm very glad to know that because I'm a Liverpool fan too😅
Would you mind if I inform you about a matter? I have a basic understanding of both the English language and grammar. However, I face a significant challenge in understanding English when listening to another person. My listening skills are not strong, and I believe I lack wisdom in English pronunciation. Now, I am determined to improve. Please help me overcome this issue. Lastly, I kindly request you to create a video covering English pronunciation for each letter, the rise and fall of intonation, and tips to enhance listening skills. Thank you. ❤❤❤❤
When we filmed this the outside temperature was -1! I’d say most people go out to work so they don’t bother putting the heating on in the morning but maybe when they get home from work?
Hi Laura you are great great and the greatest English teacher

What's the temperature like in your house guys? Do most of people in the GB put on the heating only in the morning?
When we filmed this the outside temperature was -1! I’d say most people go out to work so they don’t bother putting the heating on in the morning but maybe when they get home from work?
Has it always been like this with the heating or due to yhe recent events?
Hello Laura, could you please please please tell me which watch are you wearing? It's looking so beautiful...I will get one.

4:25 Don't want to get too political. What does it mean? 😅
It’s something to say if you don’t want to get too deep into a topic that might be controversial or involve politics or ethics! ✨

Do you always wake up willing and in a good mood, Laura?
Do you spend a whole day without going out at all?? Not even for a short stroll or something?
Normally we do! 😂 This was a particularly busy day. But we usually take a walk every day!
I could hardly recognize Laura without her make-up. Still, she is a good-looking woman.
