Lip-Swatching New Lipstick Releases! Dior, YSL, Shu Uemura

- So hard to resist lipsticks cos they are like little jewels. #Dior, #YSL and #ShuUemura have recently released a whole host of new lip products, from "Burning Chilis" shade extensions in the #RougeVolupteShine line, to texture extensions for #RougeDior (new Metallic and Velvet formulas).
Shu Uemura as well, has launched not just their ultra-lightweight liquid lip formulas in a lacquer and matte finish, but also their new year #IronRed collection, which includes a new Metallic Matte formula.
So many lipsticks, so little time. What's a girl to do? Start swatching of course!

Glad you like it and HNY too!! Yeah, cream blushes are so "in" now but there's really no need to buy too many separate products (unless you have very oily clog-prone skin). Many times the ingredients are similar!

Gorgeous lip colors! I have a lot of YSL lip sticks and really love them. I'm going to check out that Dior Velvet Star 999 lip stick it's so pretty on you! Also need to try some of the Shu Uemura lip sticks. Nice review!
Let me know how you like the Dior if you get it! Shu is available on most/all lookfantastic sites if I'm not wrong! I don't think they have the limited editions but they'll have all the standard formulas on there usually.

Hi ,I ordered the Dior 999 Velvet lip stick and a bottle of Feve Delicieuse perfume off the Dior site yesterday! I also just got Pat McGraft's new Elson 3 pretty red lip stick set.I'm all about the red lips, lol
Ooof..... that red Dior lip is screaming my name.
Hahahaha it's a very vivid red! I find it a bit brighter and warmer in this formula than the regular matte formula, which almost leans a bit more neutral.
I prefer matte formula... Dior❤️

I'm so getting that 999 Dior velvet red that by the way looks stunning on you. I wasn't really into strong lipsticks before but once I tried a red lipstick I was sold 🥰. Can you please do a video recommending your favorite lipsticks that doesn't transfer on masks 🙏
Hi Lucy, let me go do a stock take! I've been mostly wearing tinted balms and regular mattes and I just create a little air pocket over my mouth in the mask to reduce transfer hahahah. So I have not been wearing transfer proof lipsticks that much, but I can go have a think and comparison to see if I have enough good options for a video!

The YSL lipsticks are one of my favorite formulas! Dior lipsticks are a little drying tho. I love your videos❤️
Thank you so much Sarah! Yeah the matte ones will definitely feel drier compared to those sheeny YSLs. I find the new Diors less drying than the Guccis and Pat McGraths though. Or they just don't show dry lines on the lips too noticeably hahaha.

Hi Pamela, it's more of a brick-red tone if applied normally. There are a bit more red and brown tones in it than orange. The burnt orange only comes out a bit more if you sheer it out. Hope this helps!

Thank you for doing all the swatches! I just got the dior 080 and personally I would still prefer 999 especially the matte one since I think it gives me that confidence vibe, while 080 is more of a wearable red for casual occasions. I really like dior lipsticks in general idk why some makeup youtubers don't seem to care much about them. anyway, it's a great informational video :)

How would you describe the type of red the 999 velvet is? I stay away from warm reds because they’re not flattering on me but it looks a bit warm to me.
Yes May, 999 DEFINITELY leans slightly warm. Good eye! It's like dense scarlet with a hint of tomato. More orange than shades like MAC Ruby Woo for sure!
@@IamCandiceKC oh no :( I can’t get it after all. I really wanted it but my teeth suffers from orangey reds. Do you have any blue-red in velvet or matte finish from Dior that you can suggest?
@@macy.r8 I would actually suggest Rouge d'Armani Matte in 400 if you are in the market for a vivid deep blue-red in a matte texture! If you want to stick with one of the new refillable Diors then I would suggest 666. It's the cooler-toned cherry-red sister to 999 but I have not swatched the revamped 666 so I don't feel safe recommending it in case it's not exactly the same as the previous 666.
If you can get somewhere to look at it in person, go check it out! Otherwise I'd suggest the Rouge d'Armani Matte.
Is cherie 525 quite pigminted
It's sort of medium! Not super-pigmented in one stroke, but buildable to opaque, if that makes sense. It has a regular satin-creme texture.

@@preetimehmood7781 Yeah, I also prefer dense intense color most of the time. (I'd rather have to sheer it out than build it up.) I think if you are looking for satin but opaque shades, NARS Audacious lipsticks are a great option! For the Diors, the Mattes, Velvets and Rouge Dior Liquids are still the most intense in their range.
