The Luckiest Win In NASCAR History

- ...and it wasn't that long ago. A little over four years ago now, the final July 4th weekend running of the Coke Zero 400 resulted in quite an unusual winner via quite unusual circumstances. And by unusual circumstances, I mean luck; complete, blind, 100% pure luck. The winner in question is still racing full time in the Cup Series, so he has a chance to win again, but his odds of doing so in the near future are unlikely.
Trevor bayne saved WBR mark my words
Yeah pretty much they were really falling apart before the 500 win
*Bobby Labonte did by pushing him
And I’m pretty sure by then WBR alr had the Roush alliance so they were safe even if Bayne finished high but happened to be short of winning
And with how this charter system is it may need another win again or it is going to die.
james buescher daytona 2012 IMO is the luckiest win, all of the top 10 wrecked right in front of him. funny how its always the FOE car that lucks into wins.
Dale Earnhardt had restrictor plate races figured out . He would purposely drop to the back several times during a race. He wanted to know how many laps it took to drive back to the front .
Just based off the title and seeing Bayne, before watching the vid. That win wasn't a fluke. He showed speed all speed weeks. So much so that Jeff Gordon preferred to work with him. I placed a bet on him to win even.
Yeah Bayne for sure earned the win, but I put him in the thumb for the “fluke” part
The luckiest? Wouldn't having the leader pull into the pits on the last corner under caution be a very very luck win?
Fluke my ass every one forgets Jeff Gordon was begging for the 21 to push him all week!
17:17 actually Landon Cassill did not declare for Cup points So no even if he wins he doesn't make the playoffs surprisingly he legit wasn't eligible for the playoffs I don't know why but he just didn't declare for cup points.
Good point. Little things like that makes me feel less sad bcs it would been hilarious af if StarCom made the playoffs once 😂
James Buescher would like a word
@@shaneharrisnj3484 Donny Lia showed skill that day, he fought his way to the front on pace.
My top 5 in no order are as follows
David Reutimann at Charlotte - didn't pit under yellow and it just happened to rain
James Beuscher at Daytona - top 10 all wrecked on the last corner and he just ARCA braked through it
Paul Menard at Indianapolis - fuel mileage
Casey Mears at Charlotte - fuel mileage
Haley at Daytona as mentioned
FIRST!!!!! I LOVE YOUR CONTENT RWJ!!
Awesome video as always
Byron was a rookie in '18 not in '19
Hey just one question
Will you doThe Grading the Nascar cup series Drivers for this season?
I like the Last one you did in 2022
Just asking
Oh yeah, and for every series this time. I’ll be doing my first streams for the ARCA, trucks and xfinity grading, and then I’ll make a video form version for Cup. I’ve never streamed before so those will be a disaster but hopefully it’ll be fun for everyone. That’ll be around December though (maybe the ARCA one will be sooner)
@@racingwithjoeI'll definitely watch those
@racingwithjoe how many ARCA drivers will you do? There were over 100 this year
@@snuffynt uh, all of them obviously. (only for the main series, though, not east and west) I'll probably break the grading up by guys with 1-5 starts, guys with 6-13 starts and then 14-20, cuz it's pretty hard to compare the season of someone who made one start with a full timer
Not saying video was bad but 20 minutes was about 5 times as long as that video needed to be. a lot of needless rambling
17:18 just to let you know, despite being full-time Cassill didn't get points in Cup for 2019 so he wouldn't have made the playoffs even if he won that day. Great video though
Yeah that’s true. He switched to Xfinity points at some point
