the best foundation for acne prone skin is bb cream. less is more when it comes to textured skin. lightly powder on top if you are oily. Thick foundations enhance texture and clog pores
thank you for sharing your acne journey, this past year I’ve had more acne than usual and I’m already a socially anxious individual, acne added to that just makes me want to hide and never leave the house. But when I watch your videos / hear you talk about acne, it’s a reminder that it’s okay. The way I see it, it’s helping me so love myself (even with acne) 💕✨

Hey!! I was on acutane from December 2018- August 2019... I was SO beyond insecure and wore makeup to school every single day. A lot of my friends complimented how well I hid my acne and acne scars. I used and still use the Clinique Even Better Fresh Hydrating Foundation. HOLY CRAP it is hydrating for dry acutane skin and covers so well. It does oxidize a tad, but not too much. LOVE YOU girl, you are doing SO WELL through this 🦋✨

The first name for the cat that came to my mind was cloud/cloudy cuz he looks so damn fluffy, much love. Edit: do not put your concealer on your face straight out the container because your acne still has bakteria and it goes onto the concealer or desinfect the tube after every use☺️

I use the estee lauder double wear foundation to help cover my acne ! literally the only foundation that works for me and doesn't feel super cakey on my skin ! I really recommend it summer, hope it helps !

i’ve had acne for almost all my life and i HIGHLY recommend BARE MINERALS liquid foundation. it doesn’t turn orange, and doesn’t dry out your skin! and i use the same concealer, and then nyx translucent pressed powder! thank me later 😘

I've been struggling with acne for a while now and started Accutane about a month ago. I've been feeling really self conscious about my acne and just not happy with myself lately, but watching your videos really helps me and gives me the confidence I need. thanks summer!!

I’ve had acne for the past 5 years ish and i got heavily into makeup to cover it up and help self confidence... I stopped wearing it every day and found a foundation that is literally meant to cover wounds, broken skin, post surgery etc... it has SPF of 41 I think.... its called Elta MD dermatologists recommend it, it wont clog or break you out cause its literally meant for wounds!

You look so gorgeous with and without make-up...I struggle with acne so this helps me with confidence so much I really recommend bare minerals I’ve been using it for a years and it’s so dewy even though it’s a powder and looks super smooth and natural with buildable coverage it’s super good for covering acne and because it’s mineral based helps clear skin and doesn’t clog pores...I swear my skins better when I wear it than when I don’t, and lasts all day...it actually gets better looking through the day, that’s just my opinion but I’ll never wear anything else now it’s great xx
Hi summer!! I honestly wish I had found your youtube last summer when my acne got super bad and I went on accutane bc it was such a struggle. HOWEVER!!!!! I have finished my accutane course two months ago and I cannot tell you how incredible smooth and clear my skin is! Hang in there because I promise you, that treatment does wonders! Just need to be a little patient 💜

I've had consistent acne for years. Just within the last couple of weeks I started to eat overnight oats every morning (on top of the others
foods I eat for my acne), using tamanu oil twice a day, and washing my face with honey followed by my cleanser. Now my skin is just a little bumpy. Thanks for being so open Summer!

yeah well so it's about summer's relationship with dylan and how that kind of evolved... it's partly what actually happened and partly scripted so it's a mixture of reality and scripted i guess. And, how I understood it, she's not on bad terms with Dylan. I'm really happy that they filmed/are filming Endless Summer as it helped me and I could relate to a lot of what was happening :)
the colourpop tinted moisturizer is actually really nice!! i know it’s not exactly a foundation but the coverage on it is really good, it conceals the redness on my face. i use to have dry skin especially on my acne scars and it picked up the dryness for the very first few minutes and then it went away. my skin now is normal with my forehead being a little bit oily and the tinted moisturizer still works really well!
I also 100% recommend trying Curology. I don"t have bad acne but in the winter my skin gets super dry and that's when I have my annual big breakout and Curology has prevented that from happening this winter.
As someone who has wildly sensitive and dry skin, I love neutrogena’s hydro boost foundation. It really does a good job of hydrating all day and not caking of flaking. It is more sheer in coverage, but works well on top of concealed blemishes.
Summer!! that moisturizer is for the body not to face. You can get the CeraVe for the face its the same colour but better made for facial skin.

To cover my acne & acne scars I use elf hydrating camo concealer on my spots, then cetaphil hyaluronic acid moisturizer mixed with maybelline urban dream cover!!! NEVER DRY and covers everything without having too much on

okay hi summer ! i’ve been watching u since the beginning ! i’ve also struggled with acne and have been on acutane and pretty much have gotten every cream in the book. but hear me out when i say this. NEOSPORIN. it’s probably not doctor recommended like at all but it clears my skin overnight. i’m not joking. i’ve been using it for two years and i never struggle anymore. clear skin all the time. i use it whenever i start to get a pimple and it’s either gone or less inflamed and almost gone by the morning. it’s incredible. neosporin like the gelish type that’s used for cuts !!

Thank you for bring me the motivation to keep moving forward with acne cause its been really hard for me lately, it brings me down a lot and just started comparing myself with others which gave me anxiety and depression. Hey summer I’m so glad you’re being open about your acne because it’s seriously not your fault and something sooo many girls struggle with. I had a similar amount of acne a year ago, and it slowly disappeared with birth control, Differin retinol products and gentle salicylic acid face washes and spot treatments. Also ya I got that foundation effect from Nude Stix (gathers on dry spots and fine lines) 🙄 good luck! You’re truly such an amazing person

I love how confident you are in your skin. It inspires me to show that your comfortable knowing your helping people like me. I recommend using a matte concealer like the one by Nars. It works better for covering acne.

Since you really like the It Cosmetics concealer, maybe try the It Cosmetics Bye Bye Foundation Full Coverage Moisturizer with SPF! It should still feel light but cover a good amount. I have oily skin so I haven't tried that one but I have tried their CC+ for oily skin and love it :)

I’ve been watching you since 2018 and to be honest there were times when I was disappointed and I stopped watching your videos. I started watching your videos again since the beginning of this year and I don’t know how to describe the way I feel when I see how much you’ve changed. You are courageous bc talking about acne and « assuming » your head isn’t always easy. And IT ISN’T NORMAL! Acne is pimples and i don’t understand why having it would make u uglier! It’s bc of these perfect people (often touched up) and the image given by social media and it’s annoys me so much... Hey girl! Finding the right makeup routine on accutane was so hard for me too! L’Oréal true match and Nars sheer glow were the 2 that ended up working best for me since they were so hydrating. I would set my face lightly with the fit me powder and it was great because it didn’t dry me out. Hope you find a great routine that works for you 💕

I’ve totally re-fallen in love with Summer, recently. And I’m so excited for it, she was my icon when I was 16, and I was heartbroken when all the drama happened. But now she’s back and I missed her 🥺❤️
I had terrible hormonal/cystic acne for many years. I went gluten free and limited dairy and my breakouts completely stopped. It maybe isn't the answer for everyone, but it's worth a shot.
& I am so happy that you are showing everyone that you can still be confident and beautiful with acne. Time to break the stigma!
try the Maybeline BB creme for a foundation, it does have a lighter coverage but if you wear Elf Cameo concealer with it they hold really well and they cover acne without the bad breakouts that come with most foundations!
I was on accutane for 7 months and wore estee lauder double wear foundation! It's very hydrating and full covergae. I don't think you'll have any problems with dry skin on it.
Summer!!! When I had really bad cystic acne I used the IT cosmetics CC cream and it covered so nicely! It also didn’t cling to my dry spots from the medication

for foundations u should try estée lauder double wear! i used it when i had bad acne and it worked amazingly to cover everything! i have scars now and it’s perfect for coverage. make sure to wear moisturizer under it bc it’s a bit dry tho. love u summer!! 💞
Hi summer! I completely know what your going through... I used to get severely bullied for my acne .. I swear by the Estée Lauder double wear I am an avid runner and could run 10 miles with this on and my acne would still be covered ... it’s not heavy and covers what needs to be for the length of time you want ... you are beautiful... I used to feel like the spots on my face and having acne defined me because that’s what everyone saw but it’s not true at all... your beautiful and theirs a light at the end of the tunnel... I was on accutane as well for over a year but had to come off due to major side effects aka severe depression...so advice is just be careful with that ... I love you and have been a supporter for years ...trust me I know sometimes it’s so hard to keep going bc u don’t even want to be seen but ... Philippians 4:13

I have acne scars but not as many active breakouts anymore and I just wanna day that the best combo (for me) is the milk blur liquid matte foundation and the maybelline superstay 24 hour foundation. Just don’t apply too much of that or you’ll look cakey real quick, the coverage is nice and it allows you to use less product while still making you look as flawless as possible. I get oily in my t zone so I have to touch up after a few hours with a little bit of powder but I still think it’s one of the best combos I’ve found. Just a reminder that everyone is beautiful no matter how their skin looks, it’s completely normal to have imperfections and I hope everyone takes their time to embrace them and hopefully not cover them up as much. Your imperfections are what make you beautiful and the expectations in beauty are way too unrealistic right now so please just learn to love yourself and don’t dwell too much on what others think of you. If someone is gonna like you they should like you whether your skin is looking “bad” or not. I know there’s loads of people out there who find it hard to surround themselves with people who will lift them up and make them feel good about themselves but cutting down on some of those bitches who make you feel shitty about yourself ain’t never a bad idea, they’re not your real friends anyway. I only have two friends but they always hype me up and love me for me and it took me a while before I found them but I promise you, there are good people in this world, just keep searching and don’t lose hope. Sometimes having only one friend is better than having tons of them, once you find the right one I promise you you’ll be so much happier. I hope you all have a good day!
Your acne is such a small part of you I know to you it must feel like it’s all people see but I honestly never think about it until you bring it up! There’s so much more to you than just your acne and you’re so pretty!!!

i’ve struggled with acne since i was 11 and i’m now 20. for foundation. i’d actually suggest a bb or cc cream by bare minerals or it cosmetics. they’re good coverage and don’t really clog pours

I just wanted to say Summer how much you inspire me I’ve struggled with cystic acne for years and I started my freshman year of high school with my face absolutely covered in pimples which was the most horrible way I could have started high school. My confidence was completely shot. One summer when my acne was at its worst I went to the movie theatre and I went to the washroom and as I was washing my hands a young girl asked her mom what was all over my face. I remember going home and just crying my eyes out the pain that I felt internally that day was horrible, I was so scared to ever go to the movies again with the fear the same thing would happen, I couldn’t even look kids in the eye for the longest time, which sounds ridiculous but I was just so scared they would say something. I would just cry all the time, feeling so ugly. Acne is such a hard thing to struggle with, and only people who have struggled with it truly know what it is like. Thank you for showing your true self and being someone I can look up to to help me through those days I’m feeling insecure, ugly and not worthy. You are absolutely beautiful and an inspiration😘

I’ve had acne since the summer of 2018 and it got to the point where I thought I’d never get rid of it because literally nothing helped. As of three weeks ago my acne finally started clearing up! Totally out of the blue! Without me using a new product or anything! This just goes to show that sometimes it simply isn’t within our control and it’s just our body doing its thing and we have to accept that. I am sooo happy about my skin looking better and better everyday, so if you’re currently struggling with acne, don’t lose hope. It will clear up eventually :)

That is the biggest lesson I had to learn growing up and having bad acne. Just wait it out and be patient because I would make myself so much worse trying to wish it away or use everything I can on my face.Recently I have gotten my acne back pretty badly but my spirit is so much better so I am able to handle it easier.😂❤️Thank you so much for making videos like this.

I have acne and rosacea and I have used the Neutrogena Salicylic Acid Acne Treatment for years and it does not break me out or dries out, on the contrary it sometimes removes some breakouts. Hope it helps! Love your realness ❤️
