Screaming PHOENIX I’ve heard it’s true in Ultimate but I’m not sure how soon you’re supposed to be holding the D-pad direction to get the desired victory animation to play. You might need to do it before the “GAME!” disappears, or before the match itself ends even.
Brawl - You can be punished but still do it as if it was N64 and Melee Wii U/3DS to Ultimate - You are punish for rolling, dodging, shielding, etc. too much or too long (Ultimate) and your "invincibility" when grabbing the edge is gone after grabbing once the edge, the more times you keep grabbing the edge there will be a chance you "miss" the edge completely. But I'm a casual player who enjoyed the Brawl era (and N64 for nostalgia) than any of other games so I don't understand the Melee elites or the competitive side of the game

chocolatechipbagels disagree, it’s part of the game. It takes 2 people to stall. If you’re winning and ledge stalling you shouldn’t have to approach bc you’re winning. If you’re losing and ledge stalling, you’ll just run out of time and lose. At any point the opponent can try and approach and make something happen, the opponent is stalling too if they too just stand at the other side of the stage, not doing anything.
