I recently made the switch from being a bit of a sneaker head wearing Retro 4’s everyday to some cowboy boots. I must say my foot has felt more comfortable and the ability to wear them anywhere makes it much more pleasure able to wear. The fact that you can bring them to life if the sole runs out makes em even more personal . I got 3 pairs of cowboy boots , Ariats , Tecovas and Rank 45 . By far Tecovas have been the most comfortable , but the soles run quick . Hope to get some exotic leather ones soon !
Bro I switch to boots for the arch cus sneakers messed my feet up and after like a month of wearing cowboy boots the pain has gone away. Plus they look more mature I think

Northern CA Mexican here 🙋🙋 I will say that growing up, the snip toe (and even pointier) was probably the most popular I seen amongst men. My pops had them, uncles, family friends, ETC. Even to this day, I'd argue it still is the more popular style among the OGs. But for the younger crowd, and for the last couple of years, the square toes and definitely risen in popularity, by A LOT. At least in my area, and amongst my culture (at least from my perspective). Personally, square toes are at the bottom of my list, J and R toes are my cups of tea, just classics.
Live in Central cal. Yes the Wide square toe, double stitched has become very popular. I believe I am the only boy in highschool wearing pointed toe cowboy boots.

Drews was pretty sick they had a page on there website that you could customize the piss out the boots, but that is no more due to lead times, but there stock styles are pretty good to. And if you want to up your Packer (lace up riding boots) style boot check out any of the PNW companies, Whites, JK, Franks, Wesco, Drews or Nicks. And Whites makes a slip on called the plainsman. Frank’s, Whites and Wesco you can get really crazy on the customization. And the best part of ALL of these companies they are right here in the USA and sourcing as much materials as they can form the USA. But anyway awesome vid, thanks for turning me on to Dan Post!

Ohhh also! One recommendation…buy or keep shoe trees even the paper ones that are given when bought, work real well…just tuck them in tight and push in the sole. They keep your dancing boots looking nice and crisp longer…slight to no creases.

The wife and I took a trip to Nashville last summer & we visited the Tecovas store and I REALLY wanted the Nick, but they didn’t have them in my size ANYWHERE, and they were a limited edition.
I guess something to add in that topic for a video would be how to avoid printing the shaft by A) buying boots that have slimmer shafts and B) how the different fit of jeans work over the boots.

I have tried on so many types of square toe boots. I have not found one pair that have ever felt great there either to big to or small. I have always bought Georgia wedge work boots. They always fit just right.
Question: New to cowboy boots but def love the look over a good dress shoe. Do you avoid shoes with a specific sole? Leather vs Rubber vs mixture of both. Im torn because I prefer rubber soles but the best looking boots have leather. Thanks
No Stingray?! So long as you keep it conditioned because it's a fish skin, Stingray is actually one of the toughest skins you can get, along with other exotics like Elephant. Those matching eyes or horns as some call them, really add a lot of pop to the overall asthetic in a unique way, imo.

When you get them resolved ask for a sole protector they’ll put a rubber piece to the bottom

I have tried on so many types of square toe boots. I have not found one pair that have ever felt great there either to big to or small. I have always bought Georgia wedge work boots. They always fit just right.
My foot is 8.5 but years ago a lady from Katy TX told me always buy a 1/2 size bigger, so for over 25 years I've bought 9d.

Question: New to cowboy boots but def love the look over a good dress shoe. Do you avoid shoes with a specific sole? Leather vs Rubber vs mixture of both. Im torn because I prefer rubber soles but the best looking boots have leather. Thanks

No Stingray?! So long as you keep it conditioned because it's a fish skin, Stingray is actually one of the toughest skins you can get, along with other exotics like Elephant. Those matching eyes or horns as some call them, really add a lot of pop to the overall asthetic in a unique way, imo.
