Thanks for making this review. I agree with you. This brand brake upgrade is more aesthetics then performance. But I'm sure it will be an improvement over the stock brakes. For me, I don't track my car and I don't drive hard all the time, so this is a good fit for me.
There should be some advantages and not only aesthetics like: • easier to change pads • more uniform pad and disc wear so the pads last slightly longer and the change interval is slightly longer (different size pistons also help with that) • they should be less prone to cracks with the free float versions • larger rotors will cool faster and at maybe similar weight if you don’t choose them too large; larger calipers cool faster. •you can get larger pads to reduce change interval •you can modify brake bias by choosing the desired pair (no of pistons and discs). Usually the factory bias is too much to the front to keep the average driver safe in most conditions •reducing pedal pressure in case you have larger piston area which means longer pedal. This is not necessarily desired but it will put less stress on the master cylinder and abs. It will have more stopping power in case the old brakes could not lock the wheels which is unlikely Just using stock brake and good pads like endurance pads for track use for example can do the job but sport brakes simply have their advantages
