Thanks for showing this.... I know when i was younger I tried to paint some unique heroes/squads and they look freaking terrible. I actually have them separate from my other heroscape stuff. That being said, if I was to soak a figure that has already been painted.... so let's says a Kelda of SotM Raelin, would the alcohol also take of the original color it was? Or would it just take off the paint that I painted the figure?
@iceman3317 Thanks for watching! Don’t worry, we’ve all had some painting attempts that didn’t quite turn out as planned as kids or adults haha. As for your question, if you soak a painted figure in alcohol, it will most likely strip all layers of paint, including the original factory paint. The alcohol breaks down the bonds in the paint, so it's difficult to target just the paint you added. If you want to preserve the original paint job underneath, you could try gently scrubbing just the top layer with a brush, but that can be tricky.
@@boardHero thanks. I thought this, but I wasn't sure. I've tried my best to clean up the figures, but some of the paint just isn't coming off lol. Never imagined paint would be so hard to come out when so some figures, it came off super easy.
I have not tired to strip paint off the classic hero’s but I know the new pre painted figures of color injected into the plastic. So maybe the classic ones do too? If you soak them for 30 mins plus and it still doesn’t come off it may be the color plastic.
