Been playing lethal for only 5 hours and already had 5 of my 8 survivors killed off. Whoever says this game is easy is probably only playing on the easiest difficulty.

A major issue is the power in numbers most of us don't have enough people we trust to have our backs in a bad situation, I have 1, how can 2 people protect themselves much less a possibly larger group.
@@Frostknight231 and know that as I die I accept you made the right choice. If that thing was real there's no way in HELL we're taking one down without getting swarmed. Throw firecrackers and book it.
I don't know if I just missed it or something, but I think you forgot to mention that due to how rampant the blood plague is in Trumbull Valley, it caused the Plague-infected ferals to mutate further and gain armor on their heads, protecting them from melee and small arms.
Wasn't the Screamer a beta version of L4Ds Boomer? It was gonna be in a straight jacket (so it'd also be "armless") and would scream to attract other infected
So a few things to add, since it's kinda obvious you didn't come back for some of the later update. The later update, the plague hearts claim all the territories around them, inhibiting you from claiming outpost or new households. Although small survivor groups can occupy a small territory within a plague heart zone, they usually won't last very long as within plague zones, plague horde patrol very regularly (can only be seen in higher difficulties of the game). Also it's not just speculate, but almost confirm that the zombie plague is sentient. In the world of State of Decay, humanity is protected by a super intelligent AI called CLEO that occasionally drop supplies or superior anti zombies weapons. The plague somehow knows this and always directly interferes with CLEO operations. Any CLEO signals is intercepted and Hordes of zombies sent to destroy or intercept CLEO signals (Daybreak DLC). During the end of Heartland (Spoilers), the survivors discovered a CLEO drop within the heart of the Plague walls. It was made clear in the latest update Homecoming, that what was delivered was a Haven device that homes in on Zombies and kills them after sometimes, basically creating a safe haven for humanity. The plague knows this and create plague walls to intercept this. During the event of Homecoming, after losing the majority of it's biomass on the plague walls, the plague was rebuilding with newly establish plague hearts, when it detect CLEO signals. The Plague hearts immediately puts out signals that deliberately jams CLEO signals, but no other type of radio signals, forcing the survivors to destroy the plague hearts to help CLEO.
State of decay is a pretty easy game depending on what map, also one of my favorite things is to send out a character that I don't like to kill plague hearts, first time I played I made the mistake think it was like left 4 dead and I could respawn.
@@crumblingphilosophy9323 The map doesn’t really matter, they are mostly the same but have different benefits, (except the new Trumbull map) it’s the difficulty that really matters.
I reckon if you managed to be in the perfect position, in a high rise flat with the first two floors bombed out without damaging the structural integrity of the building, you may have a chance, kind of like in dying light, except you’d need to build sky bridges out of the flat’s windows and things to go out and look for food, or be lucky enough to have a roof allotment and enough old people to have it be in working usable condition then you’d be more or less safe from the state of decay zombies. Until other survivors see how good you have it
@@ShepardCommander plague walls are only in the Heartland DLC, and in that you'd have to sneak up on a bloated, steal its gland, and make a grenade out of that. The grenade weakens blood plague and then you can damage the plague wall
Stubbornness and the genetic mutation of "sickle cell anemia". If you have SCA you're basically immune to malaria but, you're easily incapacitated by cold weather, something that is very, very rare in Africa.
@@WanderingTetsubo There are cures for malaria in Africa… I’ve had malaria about 3 times. The problem is a lot of people aren’t able to afford treatment.
Other Zombie Games : Turned into zombie after a few seconds of getting bitten or touching an infected blood. State of Decay : I just got bitten by 5 Zeds, let me consume this dog pills to treat myself.
I think everyone who is left has some sort of immunity. It protects them enough from bites, but death instantly changes you into one like what the walking dead started and did during the prison season. They can take bites of regular zombies and live, but death turns them. Bloom Plague is its own problem.
@@BeastMode40- Yeah, especially during the first State of Decay where it turns out that they've been drinking a contaminated water all this time and only knew about that after one of their neighbours turned into a Zombie.

State of Decay was a fun game, but the blood plague makes it half impossible to keep a character alive. Once the blood plague starts, it seems like supplies just disappear 😭
@Yay Boy That's why you need a trader leader in those zones. Trade depot can give 3 rucksacks of a type per trader. The cooldown is long but you can save those radio calls in case of emergencies. Shouldn't be a problem as influence is plenty in nightmare and lethal and so are the plague samples.

I started feeling like the zombie apocalypse thing was way over played I'd played SOD but I ignored SOD2 for awhile it was already juggernaut edition when I finally downloaded it, then I remembered why I love the zombie apocalypse genre, it wasn't the zombies, it's the survival aspect. At any point in SOD you can be completely swarmed by normal zombies and die, or the scariest run out of bullets while clearing an infestation.
If there is 1 zombie that has killed me the most in State of Decay it has to be the feral zombie. Not the juggernauts not the screamers not even the bloaters but the ferals no matter how hard I try will usually kill off a lot of my survivors.
I know this is gonna sound a Bit Rude But, Ever Since Left 4 Dead Released Their Special Infected Tons of Zombie Genre Video Games Jumped on the Money Wagon
Would be cool to have Zombie Lords. Even Zombie Fog, where all the sudden fog settles in out of nowhere making it extremely hard to see the hordes. Lurkers or zombies that stealth ontop of buildings like waiting mountain lions that leap on you would be nice. The Zombie Lords would sendin hords, and havea specialbability, possibly gains witts based of successful attacks its hords it send gains like an xp based level system, where it can implement many abilities.
Man im for sure Dying. This is for sure one of the hardest apocalypses to survive in. Thank you for the great video keep up the great work man !!! 😁😁😁😁
I love the State of Decay games since first released. I still play them and make different decisions but hoping the 3rd one will have more of a story because it's overall very interesting. And honestly most of us would not survive this type of event and I believe you expressed that pretty well lol.
Nah we say zeds, zombs, Zs or zombies equally. For where I am in oxford I hear zombie or zombs the most. I am 25 and thats been universal since well let's say cod waw. Prior to that people would only say zombies when it came to games.
Aren't they called zeds by part of the characters in game? Like a walking dead situation where not everyone is gonna call them the same thing (biters, walkers, shamblers ect.)
The Black fever is not the original Zombie infection nor is it the Blood plague. Black fever is only waterborne was only seen in Trumball Valley due infected Corpses being dumped by the army into the nearby reservoir and that is what caused the BF in the first place. one bite or scratch is not fatal, it’s like getting a bite or scratch from an animal which if not treated will then lead to death by infection.
It's not that hard if you don't rush and take your time. use a sniper with suppressor most of the time,When fighting hostile enclaves drive around with the horn and watch them get rekt :)
Disadvantage from SoD zombies -everyone's infected (you turn no matter how you die like in The Walking Dead) -special zombies (like Left 4 Dead) Advantage -you can survive bites (unlike in most zombie media)
I wonder if there were enough plague hearts, could it create a proto grave mind? If so i wonder if the infected would act like the flood or blackwing virus infected stormtroopers
for me, The black fever is the weak virus among the game, here's why: -As the zombie keeps on biting you, nothing happens, even if you are not a carrier. -it only take more days to turn into zombie, like Eddie from state of decay -it can be easily be cured by healing yourself -like the other zombie game, it can take multiple shots in the head even with the rifle. in SoD, it only take one shot to kill in the head
Have you ever looked at "Dead State: Reanimated"? It's a finalization of an unfinished and abandoned game. Pretty good, very very Fallout, but feels a bit lacking around the edges, lots of "if they had" or "why didn't they" and "missed opportunity" but really it's because it wasn't finished. I'd just be interested in a "what happened" think on this.
@Mr.Suicide oh yeah. I played that game so much that pretty much every survivor was maxed in my community and I had the top of the map cleared out of supplies.
A somewhat unknown fact about the Screamers, they can actually headbutt you if you get close enough. I’ve also heard they can kick you, but I personally haven’t seen this.
Thank you! I've always wanted you to do an episode on this game, one of my personal favorites and one people should really check out seeing they'll be a SoD 3 in the near future!
4th year release of state of decay, the second part of the tutorial, if you skip it. This feature has since been removed, but you would get a quest to help survivors, and they share a recipe for the blood plague cures, you don’t need a micro biologist either, even at camp osprey the army produces and widespread shared the way to make it, to the point where you just need a basic infirmary, or if getting a cure is too difficult. You can stabilize victims in said infirmary
State of decay is a great game, and this video is spot on.... would be difficult to survive especially with the water being contaminated instantly. I'd love to see a video on the zombie/infected series Dead Set, it's a a decent series, and has a different premise to most shows/series! So I think it would be cool if you covered it
I love this game series and I can’t stop watching your videos. The ‘why you wouldn’t survive’ being my favorite. Thanks for making this amazing content and I can’t wait to see more in the future.
Did the lore go into why the military didn't use drones and time bombs? Also why didn't the people who remained in military bunkers not send missiles to the hearts? What about the military planes? I'm probably over thinking this.

They probably just took a lot of inspiration
These screamers r better

Damn. First five minutes and I’m trying to figure out how people are still alive in Africa.

@Yay Boy u will definitely lose people on your first place through lol. I remember losing my 11 man community. Now it's too easy bc I realized the game is just routines.

Disadvantage from SoD zombies
-everyone's infected (you turn no matter how you die like in The Walking Dead)
-special zombies (like Left 4 Dead)
Advantage
-you can survive bites (unlike in most zombie media)
And you don’t need to amputate to survive.
bp ferals have armored heads, hearts have territories now, bp in lethal takes over a survivor fast if not stabilized or no cure is made
I wonder if there were enough plague hearts, could it create a proto grave mind? If so i wonder if the infected would act like the flood or blackwing virus infected stormtroopers
This is possible. Plague Hearts and Walls already call zombies for help, so they seem to be controlling them.
for me, The black fever is the weak virus among the game, here's why:
-As the zombie keeps on biting you, nothing happens, even if you are not a carrier.
-it only take more days to turn into zombie, like Eddie from state of decay
-it can be easily be cured by healing yourself
-like the other zombie game, it can take multiple shots in the head even with the rifle. in SoD, it only take one shot to kill in the head
Thank you soooo much for doing a State of Decay video!
