Hi Juna, this is a little off topic, but can I make a suggestion for a future video (or maybe even a series of videos)... I'm curious as to your social media marketing approach. Firstly, may I ask if you are "Detour Shirts" across all your stores and social media? The reason why I ask, is other POD gurus sometimes have multiple stores across multiple platforms, with different branding concepts to their different stores, along with different social media strategies for such. I've noticed that the POD platforms that you have the most success in, are mostly the ones that have good traffic and SEO by default (ie. Amazon, Redbubble, Teepublic). But what if you had to start over without your RUclips influencer status at play, and if you were not a designer by trade, and you had to aggressively drive traffic to your low to medium performing platforms (Spring, Threadless. Zazzle etc) or your own Shopify store? How would you approach your social media/POD strategy if you had to start from scratch? For instance, would you maybe focus on party invitations and kids party products on Zazzle so as to capitalize on the platforms popular products and customization features? Would you maybe rebrand that hypothetical store to something like "Detour Party?" Would you start a "Detour Party" Pinterest account and then calibrate it around a Detour Party brand concept? Would you do the same for Twitter, Insta, FB and YT? Would you use all, some, or none of these other social media platforms for a "Detour Party marketing strategy" etc? Also, I wonder if you would maybe start a different type of YT channel if you were not the "learn how to do POD" guy?... maybe like a channel called "Give Pizza Chance" which might be a food vlog where you rate and review different pizza while wearing your own merch Lol. I should add, that I am aware that you do this "side hustle" around your day job, so your approach has to be economical and convenient. But, if you do have any insights on how you might entertain such hypotheticals, and you care to share, that'd be awesome. "Imagine" though... if you ended up becoming the CEO of a corporation called "Give Pizza Chance Inc"... what would Yoko Ono think LOL... Pizza Out, Brother 😁✌
@@DetourShirts Thanks Juna. I'm looking forward to it. If you are able to, could you also do one for Twitter🙏. I followed every method in your Pinterest tutorial (except for the video mock up, cos I don't have Placeit). It's going good though. so thanks a bunch. I think Pinterest is the perfect companion to POD, as it is essentially a "window shopping" kind of search engine. But I'm still trying to figure which platform to focus on to actually build and nurture a community. Maybe your upcoming Instagram video may have the answer🤞 Well, until your next one, man... peace out
Hi Juno Thanks for the video. When i looked at a niche i had picked out I was not sure what bsr to pay attention to.The same item In clothing it said 1,317,589 then in womens novelty t shirts it says 189,923 and then in mens novelty t shirts 193,238 .This has me confused.
I select all products when it works.... and most of the times it does work but sometimes I only upload patterns to phone cases, pop sockets, totes and pillows because it doesn't work on shirts.
Hey, Juna, can you make a video on a recent change with RB going to a tier system and charging fees. What’s your take on tHIS? Is it still worth it? What are the alternatives?
Greetings friend. As a novice is it better to develop a theme or keep up with the trends? Example of a theme is outdoors but say Holidays are coming. Is it confusing for a customer to go to an “outdoors” graphic designer but find Holiday shirts? Thanks for all the time and videos.
If you sell on Amazon you can do both.... you can create different brands for different topics so you don't have to choose just one.... Unless you really know what one topic to focus on I think it is better to do multiple themes to figure it out....The nice thing about print on demand is it's free to test.
Hi 👋 thanks for making such great educational content so consistently! I used to make good money on Merch by Amazon but I stopped uploading new stuff because one of my Etsy shops (where I make the products myself) took off and I didn’t have time. Now it seems like on Merch, you need to advertise to get sales. Is this true? Please be honest if there’s any chance to get back to Merch and actually make significant sales without spending on Ads. I know how to make good designs and use keywords etc, I do it successfully every day on Etsy. I have a baby now and I can’t afford to mess with Amazon Ads at the moment. I appreciate any feedback and I trust your word. Thank you!
Hey juna , i just rewatch this video and have a question please : how do you do with all markets , you just do translation by amazon or do you check trademarks for all the markets . I dont uploid in all and im affraid to get bunch of rejection in other markets.
If it's good for US, it's usually good for all markets.... I just select them all and have amazon do the translations.... to be honest it's not a ton of sales but it's something
Hi juna, you mentioned that we can make our own phrase, how can that sell? If nobody is looking for that exact phrase? The only way will be via the big niche (sunshine in you example) meaning we will still be competing with 60k results
Make your phrase around a the same major topic... so when someone is looking Sunshine you are competing with 60k yes but yours will be different and stand out
HI!! i wanted to know is thois like other POD sites like Zazzle , teepublic etc !! Means is they charge any fees to make store ! Is we have our products in warehouse orAmazon merch work like that POD site!
Well they don't charge fees but you share in the profit of the sale... so for selling a $20 shirt for example you get about $5 and Amazon keeps the rest... they are doing most of the work

Glad it was helpful! The only way to change graphics is to upload a new one... if you delete a design that already has sales you lose that BSR . You basically will start over with a new upload. I would only delete it if you really want to remove the item because something is wrong. If you just want to test a new design I would just upload a different design and see if the new design does well.

Hi, I'm curious about having separate accounts for KDP (Kindle Direct Publishing) and Merch by Amazon. I've got a KDP account already, and when I tried to set up a Merch account with the same email, it didn't work out. Hi Juna. I recently submitted an application to be a seller on Amazon Merch and it was rejected. I see in the FAQ that we cannot find out why our application is rejected and we cannot resubmit. I'm appalled (and bummed) about the lack of transparency in this process. Any advice? Thanks so much.
It's all luck in my opinion... just keep trying.... they haven't said it but I think they only allow so many people on at once and with so many people trying now the chances of getting on is really low.

I actually got tired of trying this print on demand, but my question is can I do it from ghana without any restrictions? 15:08 How big is your design team and/or outsourcing? Don't tell me you reached tier 100k with more than 10k unique designs single-handedly. Though, depends on the timeframe.
@@DetourShirts Lord almighty. With 1 design per day non-stop, it'd take almost 30 years 😅10 designs per day would take almost 3, but that's 10 designs per day for 3 years with no weekends ever. How did you manage it?

@@DetourShirts That's not a bad approach, at least it won't lead to a burnout. I tried doing multiple designs per day for a few weeks. By the end of the 2nd week, I figured it'd be more sustainable to just do more designs irregularly, than a few regularly.

Now, I'm thinking of making a new Merch account with a different email and phone number. Can I safely have two separate accounts for KDP and Merch without running into any problems, even with the initial Merch account application being rejected?
Yes you can! KDP is a separate thing
@@DetourShirts and for merch by amazon the first account that i submit application for and it got rejected it won't get me any problem for the the account that i will use later on on merch ?
My listings aren't searchable. The ASIN nor title. I tried reaching out but I don't really get an answer from Amazon.
So strange
Are you sure you have selected the "searchable" option at the bottom when you upload your design?
@@vythedir4438 I will check
@@vythedir4438 Yes, all are marked searchable.
@@wataki2 It's the only thing I can think of. That during uploading you accidentally turned off the searchable option. If that's not it, it's a bit strange indeed.
brother i am a beginner in Amazon Merch on Demand, i'm upload 3 design today and 3 design are rejected, i don't know why. (sorry for poor english). any video suggested for learning details
Well you need to make sure you are not infringing on copyright or trademarks.... what did your designs say or look like?
I follow your research method long time. But before some a day I follow others video. I see always check the 3rd-page competition. so I follow your research and check the 3rd-page competition. I see competition is very high. I am very confused. I check 3rd page or not. Please give me this solution. I waiting for your answer. Thank you.
Yeah... I would check 3rd page.... sometime Amazon is sneaky that way.... they don't always show the right results.
Thank you 👍
You are welcome
Do you feel that coasters and pins are good products to sell on print on demand
No.... unless you have the right audience.... some people do love pins and kind of collect them but most don't.... at least I don't.
@@DetourShirts thanks
First❤
Thanks for the love
I have a problem and Amazon customer service not helping at all , my Design was rejected 3 times already , and the last My description was with only two words "Just relax" and still wasn't right , can anyone help how to do this right ,I made my design in Canva , I used some of the examples but I changed graphic
What's the graphic and title?
@@DetourShirts Thank you for your replay , First title was : "Just relax" funny graphic design cool , Second was Only "Just relax" and still rejected
Hey Juna I've applied for MBA 3 times and it got rejected, could you maybe make a video on how to apply for it properly?
I don't think you are doing anything wrong.... I just think they have a limit on how many people they bring in at a time.
@@DetourShirts ohh alright then so I'll just keep applying until they accept me 😅
There's people who sell accounts
@@yassine4004 And there is people who get those bought accounts terminated
@@aritrasur2682 There is not much anyone can do to help. The application review process is most likely automated, so you just have to be lucky.
We want you to focus on the Affinity Designer lessons and the difficult designs challenge
It's coming
I actually got tired of trying this print on demand, but my question is can I do it from ghana without any restrictions? I did with etsy but I used my husband's details because he lives in the United States after so many months of creating designs and uploading I finally got I sales then I got an email that I'm not in the state so my account has been terminated. So now I. Skeptical about a this site since I'm in africa
That's a great question that I don't know the answer to.... sorry I have no experience with being in Africa or how it would work there... this is a great question for my Facebook group... if you are not a member you can join for free and ask all the questions you have about POD
Do we need a trademark to start???
Nope. You do need to check for trademarks from others. You can’t use trademarked phrases.
@@DetourShirts how do we keep someone from stealing our slogan???
Waited video bro.....
Thanks
Do you advertize your designs on merch?
Not all designs but about 20-30 of them.... I probably should do more
@@DetourShirts Thank you for replying Juna. I appreciate your response and all your helpful videos. God bless.
15:08 How big is your design team and/or outsourcing? Don't tell me you reached tier 100k with more than 10k unique designs single-handedly. Though, depends on the timeframe.
Yup... just me
@@DetourShirts Lord almighty. With 1 design per day non-stop, it'd take almost 30 years 😅10 designs per day would take almost 3, but that's 10 designs per day for 3 years with no weekends ever. How did you manage it?
Well.... I don't do it everyday but somedays I do way more than 10.... and lot of my design can be scaled.... think birthdays, years, family members, etc.... it's easy to do 30 of those really quickly once you get a base design.
@@DetourShirts That's not a bad approach, at least it won't lead to a burnout. I tried doing multiple designs per day for a few weeks. By the end of the 2nd week, I figured it'd be more sustainable to just do more designs irregularly, than a few regularly.
how do i get into amz merch on demand....evey time i try to apply they kept rejecting me
It's tougher and tougher to get it... sorry
Sadly they didn’t approve us for Amazon Merch. We’ve been selling on Amazon for many years for our scuba shop dive gear too.
Yeah... Amazon Merch on Demand is different.... kind of tough to get in now
Are there countries that are not accepted in Amazon Merch?
Not really sure... Amazon hasn't really come out and given a list
Sir,
how can I open an account in march or amazon from Bangladesh?
No really sure.... I think you still need to apply... but you can ask this question in my Facebook group.
Hey i just wanna know is amazon merch platform worth it or not for making a good sales .

Can Nigerians use Amazon mod
I would think so.... I don't know for sure.... Ask it in my Facebook group
i need acount merch bya Amazon pric pro
Sorry... I wish I know how to get on.... it's kinda random
@@DetourShirts Can you explain to us how to apply in Merch by Amazon with an acceptance rate
First one bro….
Thank you... you get the trophy 🏆
Just to let everyone know the reason merch informer keyword finder doesn't show certain phrases is because there needs to be a minimum of 100 views through the phrase.
Thanks for the tip
They denied my application and I have no idea why
It's most likely the luck of the draw or unluck in your case. More applicants than they can accept at one time
@ thanks
Send me do u need advertize your designe on merch
In the beginning I wouldn't worry about advertising but I use advertising now.
I WANT account 😔
You can apply again
Hi @DetourShirts, wonderful channel and content!! I didn’t get accepted. Do I just keep on trying until I get accepted? Can someone send an invitation to merch by amazon to get in on it?😅
Just keep trying
Hi @@DetourShirts , I went to my amazon account to hit the sign up button again but unfortunately they just display a message saying: We appreciate your interest, but your account request has been declined. We thank you for taking the time to introduce yourself to us and encourage you to check out selling options on Amazon. There's no additional button. So....I have to create another amazon account under a different email to re-apply??? That doesn't feel fair 😐. What now?
redbubble became impossible now just they sent me an update e-mail they'll deduct a monthly fee and they nearly take 50% of your earning that's ridiculous
I know... so crazy.... I wonder how many sellers will leave the platform
Thank you ❤
You are so welsome
