And this is why I generally take review for anything on the Internet with many grains of salt. I will read reviews and if they're all complaining about the same thing I'll pay some attention. If they're all complaining about something different I will generally chalk it up to you can't keep everyone happy. Keep the good stuff coming guys.
I totally agree that a lot of reviews left stating kids aren't welcome is definitely code for parents not wanting to watch their kids and being annoyed that policy is being upheld. I have 3 littles and LOVE when campground hold parents accountable to watch their kids.
Parents definitely need to do better at watching their kids. This past summer, a young girl was snatched from a campground in upstate NY. It was shocking how fast the guy got away. Thankfully she was found alive but was definitely harmed. The guy made a mistake and actually tried to collect a ransom for the child. The police lifted a fingerprint off the ransom note.
I stayed in a Las Cruces, NM campground with several 1 & 2-star reviews. The owner’s son - maybe 20-25 yrs old, came out to me while I was walking my dog one morning and asked me what I thought of the campground, wanted an honest opinion as his parents paid zero attention to reviews. He was working to improve the place. The site took you thru a sketchy part of town to get there - and he couldn’t change that. We did talk signage and the check-in process. I’ve had a few other campground owners/managers survey my opinion - always refreshing to be in touch with someone working to improve the place.
Let me help :) we’ve been to TTO several times this winter and we walk a lot all the time there!! Children can’t be alone outside on bikes etc I’ve had my child 11, asked by staff her age while at the playground. We work full time so if we are working she can’t let her outside. But same with Hilton head resort right now for us, It stinks! Sites are hit or miss, we’ve had them all. It’s TT and not $100 a night so we don’t complain. The sewage smell is one part in the newer area. And I can absolutely agree on Warren and Sharon!!!!
Ah yes... it's all about expectations. No palms trees in New York. Score: 0. No swing-set at an "over-55" park. Score: 0. No outdoor lights at an RV park for stargazers. Score: 0. No blue grass in a Kentucky RV park. Score: 0. Children running around in the "family" section of an RV park. Score: 0. Pets in a "pet-friendly" RV park. Score: 0. And the list goes on.... Funny video. Thanks!
Great video Nathan! I streamed this video at full quality in the D section. Our kids just hate having all these kids to play with 😂. Thank you for the video.
WE have stayed there twice (not members) and enjoyed both stays. WE especially enjoyed staying in the "old" sites at the back of the campground. That area is more tropical and wooded - so pretty.
We stayed at one of the new sites at TTO they built in 2022. It was nice except we had a corner site that was under a street light that lit up the bathroom vent! We’re not full timers and we live in Florida, so we don’t stay in private RV parks except in the Keys. We do stay at many state and county parks.
Welcome love TTO! If yall are still there, go to Cagan Crossings and hit up Four Palates Gelato & Bakery, tell them Luther sent you! They remember us every time we go (a couple times a year) and if we call ahead, make sure to have cookies and cream gelato. They are the sweetest family!
Nathan we were there at the same time as you folks, great to meet you, sorry we missed Marissa. We hope you found the trash as we stopped and talked to you with trash in your hands. 😂
I dont have an RV, but I find out that people like to complain, that happen in a Jotel, some people like to pay not to much, but they expect all the amenity like if you are paying high prices, Happy you are having a great time....enjoy and be safe
We were there same time as you, even said hello as we drove by. You drove past and filmed our alliance avenue at about 8 minutes in your video. We were in B and it was kid central all ages playing football etc behind our rig. It was fine for us. This was our first time visit and it was great. We are retired. Will come here again for sure.
Great idea ! We picked up our rig at TTO in March 2022. We met so many nice folks, but we did decide TT wasn't for us. Love the undercover work & the $5 per package is insane, especially if you FT.
You can always get your Amazon packages at the Amazon hub locker located at the 7-11 a mile away. For anything else you can use general delivery service at the local post office another mile down. Neither option will cost you anything.
Great idea, I may start checking in on the poor reviews when I get to campgrounds. We tend to have very reasonable expectations, so aren’t surprised too often.
The Jackson Hole KOA was seriously the WORST! Neighbors were less than 2’ away and they woke me up at 6 am (after a week of getting up early for Yellowstone) to move my car from where I was TOLD to park it.
When planning get out a full salt shaker. It's all a matter of opinion. Yes, there are valid concerns/complaints and thank you for the reality check. I would think the newbies would have higher expectations and more disappointments, but after they learn to go with the flow..they will make the most of whatever situation comes up..AGAIN< THANK YOU !!!
Love TTO! We were actually there when you did this video. Hot tub was working the whole time. Starlink works amazing there! Oh and plenty of Amazon drop boxes in the area if 5$ scares people for convenience. Love you guys!! Safe travels!
Really enjoyed the video, thought it was pretty funny and I needed some lighthearted laughs this weekend as my Saturday was horrible. Personally, a place like that wouldn't be my choice even just to meet up with someone. I would just stay near by and meet up somewhere else. I enjoy simple and laid back, I don't need a ton of amenities. That being said, everyone is different, so different parks for different people.
Bravo! Very clever video! I must admit, that I passed over this video several times, because I didn’t think it would interest me, but I found it to be very interesting and quite entertaining! This was a great idea! 💡
Exactly right. Since dissatisfied people are so much more likely to leave reviews, anyplace with a solid 4 is doing great. And reviewers: when you find 1 thing wrong--say a $5 mail fee--and everything else is at least okay, rating the place an overall 1 is just unfair.
Hi Nathan, just got through watching your video. The wife and I have stayed at TTO three different times if we could read it at 10 we would the only thing that we had was L O L we could not find our campsite when we got back from the Tampa RV show this year, we love thousand trails
Oh my gosh......I hope I didn't sound snarky. We love your posts! You all are our absolute favorites on RUclips. Mostly just stating we don't like camping with no privacy. ❤
As to the sewer smell. I live in an RV resort just a little north of Thousand Trails. We they do what the do with the treatment plants near the area the smell is everywhere, even at the Publix supermarket.
We are in TTO right now. We love this campground, but congestion on the cell towers is an understatement. We definitely can not stream anything and phone calls go in and out even though it shows we have bars on our AT&T phones. We keep hearing "hello are you still there". They can not hear us.
I actually enjoy reading some of these one star reviews. Mostly for entertainment. I am repeatedly baffled how many Karens and Kens are out there complaining about non-existing issues.
Nice approach for this video content. There will always be complaints about any RV park, because situations are always changing and people have their own expectations. When looking at reviews, we look at the overall feedback and then read some of the negative comments. How does this RV park compare to other large ones you have been at?
I’m 57 and have been camping since I was very little. I’ve camped under a tarp thrown over a line tied between trees, to tents, to pop-up camper and now a 30 ft RV. We’ve camped any where from sandbars down by the river to gorgeous well manicured resorts. I’ve have known some of the best people and some of the worst/rudest people at campgrounds. Not all camp grounds are the same and I’ve never been to one that is 100% absolutely perfect. They are built and ran by humans and we are all flawed in some way. But in my experiences, the people that complain the most are not really campers. They are usually the “ENTITLEDS”. They are the ones that are never happy! And to leave a one star review because of kids in a hot tub at a “family” campground is just not right. It seems she would have been better off at a spa. We have stayed at campgrounds that were over priced for what they offered. And I might give 4 stars for that reason.
If I had to pay the going rate for an RV park like TTO for a two - or three week stay, I might be disappointed. But as a Thousand Trails member, it's the "go to" park in FL. Lots to do in the park, near loads of fun things and dining.
There are people who just HAVE to bitch, about everything, all the time..... There is no way to make those people happy without inconveniencing everyone else. I don't miss working directly with the public all day every day! First thing that comes to mind for me, when I watch this, is "Holy crap that's a huge RV park!", and second is "why?" Being a country boy from the desolate wastelands, I have a whole different view of ideal camping! Smaller, laid back sorta places are my vibe. Cities are for passing thru quickly after finding supplies! You guys need to wander back to the opposite side of the country again, would be fun to bump into you. I'll be mostly haunting the quiet places of the west, and looking for cool rocks. This spring, a sapphire, star garnet, black opal, and then Oregon sunstone foray is planned. There's pretty rocks out there that need a new home. Keep up the good work.
I would say that the check in process would stress me out. I don't manage those situations really well. Are you allowed to switch sites at any point if more desirable sites open up? For example, you get there late and the only site available is the one that you had surrounded by all the other RVs. The next day some of the better ones open up, are you allowed to move to them?
There are over 1,000 sites at this park and there are always plenty to choose from - no matter when you arrive. You are allowed to switch sites one time, but it has to be by 10am on the day after you arrive.
Yes when you get there, you are given a sheet of paper with rules and you are allowed to switch but it has to be the next day and during a certain time.
This video was great! Its always nice to see and learn if these reviews are actually true or just someone who just likes to be a Kyle/Karen. Thanks LJMJ
I am so sad! We had to stay in PA an did t make TTO when y’all were finally there! All the 1 stars are not 100 percent accurate. They are at times. I love the map locations, we love the swamp! The HOA is the pits. Who wants grass you can NOT go on, lol. As for the kids being in the rig, it isn’t that way it is having kids running around unsupervised, I yelled Nailed it when Nathan said it! The hot tub, I agree needs some adult hours in the evening. But it does close a lot because of the littles that have accidents in it. We weee there an it was closed for a heater issue for a while. An after 8:30pm the internet goes nuts an streaming is difficult! The TTO shuffle is the worst on holidays 157 rigs coming in an we were number 2, we always come in from the north an make the left, the cops are normally there an the other rigs can’t cut you off because you have to take turns. If your there at noon, you are good to go! I agree with you on all of it! Hope to catch you guy there one of these times!
Staying near by at Lake Magic currently, the common complaint about TTO is check in and pool hot tub cleanliness seems to be an issue. But hey I wouldn’t really say Lake Magic is any better. It’s snowbird season and all the parks are packed. Packages are TERRIBLE at Lake Magic, not the fault of the park it’s the crummy Amazon drivers that just drop packages wherever. Currently missing 4 packages (2 complete orders).
It would help if they wouldn't allow children (especially diaper aged ones) to be in the hot tubs. And the Orlando resort pools only get professionally serviced once a week. As a CPO I can say that that isn't enough for this high use park.
Have your packages delivered to an Amazon hub locker. There is one within a mile of Lake Magic and another one a mile or two up Hwy. 27. Both are located at 7-11's
The problem with this park is not the availability of cell service, it is the congestion. Too many people on the same towers and service crawls to a halt.
We just wouldn't camp at sites like these. It looks like a giant Walmart parking lot with no privacy. No thank you......we love our state park camp sites.
We were there in January 2024. The site pavement was torn up so badly it took us 45 minutes to park our 30 foot rv.we smelled sewer the entire weekend. We had people walking through our site continuously to get to the bathhouse causing our dogs to go crazy. Your claim kids can be around is false as if you have a 12 yr and work during the day that kid stays with you not allowed to go to the rec unsupervised . Yes they can play outside. Your review was a little biased. If we were to ever need to stay there again to visit our son at UCF we would definitely ask to stay in the newer section .
@@LessJunkMoreJourney me too! I just think saying that this is busted because you didn’t find that one item while you were there to be valid doesn’t mean it wasn’t valid for everyone else. We love your channel and have been watching since you first started. I know that you’re looking at many different, RV parks and their reviews. Looking forward to seeing the next one.
We're at Clerbrook Resort right now which is 30 minutes north of the Orlando resort. Second time here because nothing else was available. Not a fan. Standard sites are T-I-G-H-T and uneven. Lots of stray cats roaming around. Too far from shopping, dining, entertainment.
I can understand supervising your children to a certain age, but after that come on. If you raise your children properly and not feral there should be no issue. 8:45
Funny video. Talk about a bunch of "Karens"!! However, that place you are staying or reviewing is way too big for my taste. Y'all with those big rigs have lost sight of what camping and enjoying the great outdoors is all about. You won't catch me at that place. ZERO atmosphere!!!
Our way of travel is not for everyone and it's not our mission to convince you to have our RV or travel to the places we do. We do hope to inspire others to create their own journey. 😀
Excellent informational video. Thanks for doing the leg work. We have often said unhappy folks are the ones who go out of their way to review anything and we keep that in mind. Our pet peeve is rules that are never enforced and wonder why have them then--and those generally involve rules regarding dogs.
Tripping can happen if you're out at night. Add a couple beers and Opps. Testing signals during mid-day when fewer people are using it will always get more bars but try ii from 5-10 pm when everyone is streaming, will likely be a different story.
Laughing right now at the thumbnail you picked! Nathan, the grimace expression on your face is the exact same expression I have seen on Hensley since she was little! 😂😂 She is definitely your girl!! ❤😊
“Infants and toddlers under two should not be permitted in a hot tub at all as babies’ thin skin makes them more susceptible to overheating. Also, since little ones have very little control over bodily functions, spas become unsanitary almost instantly when ‘accidents’ happen.” Additionally, “No young child should be allowed in a hot tub until they can stand on the bottom and have their head remain completely out of the water. Children who are big enough to be in a hot tub should not use it for more than five minutes at a time, especially at the maximum temperature of 104 degrees. Dropping the spa temperature to 98 degrees would allow for longer soaks - but never more than 15 minutes at a time. It is also recommended that young children avoid full body immersion, choosing instead to sit on “jump seats” that some spas have that permit waist-high immersion.”
The $5 per package is an issue. If you have medical supplies, it's supposed to be free, however, they made me open up the package in front of them to prove to them that there was medical supplies in it.
EXCELLENT, well-done video!! We also love Thousand Trails Orlando campground. We actually live 1 mile away. We found our RV port home when we were staying there about five years ago. At any rate, you guys did a great job creating this video! And what you found to be true from the one star reviews is actually true. No place is perfect. But we really do enjoy going there. Because we live so close, we are able to go get a day pass and enjoy taking walks and using the pool whenever we want to. Thanks again! ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ - 5 star review! 😂👍🏻❣️
It's not that big of a deal. During high use season just get there around 2pm or after and the line from the main road to the check in gate will be a lot shorter. Once you pass that point there is a secret to not having to wait in that second queue. (But I'm good at keeping secrets 🤫🤭)
It's really not as bad as people make it out. This is a huge campground and they have huge numbers of people checking in and checking out every weekend.
Been to TTO many times (including a month over Christmas this year). The first time going there you are on a steep learning curve on the process and where stuff is. Last year they were more strict with kids (tween and teens) being unaccompanied. This year they seemed to be more relaxed. The last time we were there we were 2 spots down from a sewer pump station and did get a wiff of sewer smell one day, but that's life. Overall, we really like TTO and we all (kids and adults) have so many friends we meet up with there!
No Thanks! We will stick to beautiful state and county parks. Everyone has a wants list so those amenities might be necessary for them. We prefer peace, quite and nature. Overcrowded pools aren't as nice as a pretty lake in the mountains to swim. Going by your many other videos it seems that's usually your preference to?
Yes! We love our state and national parks. Our favorite way to camp, but we do throw in some resorts to meet up with friends and community. It can be a nice break every once in a while.
I love that Nathan turned into an Investigator investigated in thousand trails for the people who left one star. That’s funny. Glad you found the trash and tested out the cellular service and the kids in the hot tub. I loved how Hensley went into in cognito to investigate about the kids in hot tub. I think it’s still a great park. Looks good to me. Great video and thank you for your review. Have a great week and see you soon!
On our very first trip out we tried using Thousand Trails because we got five free nights when we bought our Motorhome. We were going to Williamsburg Virginia. The Thousand Trails said we couldn't use our five free nights on a weekday. Since we arrived on a Saturday morning we stayed at a KOA. The KOA was beautiful and we really enjoyed it. On Monday we moved to Thousand Trails. The Thousand Trails in Williamsburg was old and run down. The staff when we checked in apologized for the place being so run down. They said the owners wouldn't remodel the campground. The place was half empty I have no idea why we couldn't stay there on the weekend. Of the RV's that were there three quarters were permanently parked and no one was using them. Even to this day, that is truly the worst park by far we have ever stayed at. We did have plenty of cellphone service though. We use Verizon. Since it was the first week of December the pool was closed. The only amenities they had was laundry and the check-in lady said only half the machines worked and she couldn't refund any money if the machine wouldn't work.
I would NOT be happy with a hour long wait line to check in AND the campsite pads looked sketchy with the broken asphalt. I get that it is very affordable for full time RVers and so maybe those inconveniences can be over-looked. It’s not for me.
We were at TTO at the beginning of the Covid shutdown. Technically our membership limited us to a two or three week stay, but TTO let every member in the park stay until a week after the shutdown ended - in other words, 7 weeks, at no charge. Even with all of the fear at that time a sense of community developed with people sewing and giving away masks, outdoor distanced line dancing, and daily walking groups. TTO helped us make the best of a very tough time.
We spent 3 months there last winter and wouldn't do that again. Would we go back for a couple weeks, ya probably. B field is just a mad house with kids, so I wouldn't stay there. As for the sewer smell, it's really just one area of the "new" and section. They built around the septic system, and there are some sites that it frequently smells.
I know being overtired from traveling can put anyone off their happy place mentally. Just like being hangry because your blood sugar levels have tanked. If a park satisfies your needs chalk, up some of the other stuff to the expectations verses reality.
There is going to be good parts and bad parts with any RV park. Just par for the course. Expectations seem to be a little high. If you are looking for the bad you can find it. If you are looking for the good you can find that too!
loved this video; and like you proved the reviews dont always show the true conditions.Unfortunatly the karens out there that complain freely are sometimes more vocal than the people that enjoy something. I've been places that unsupervised younguns run rampant and I've also been places that youngsters under supervision have been fun or entertaining to be around ( as far as a childless adult is concerned) moral of the story is don't let the fearfull dictate to the masses
I expect the reviews complaining about kids being on house arrest and not allowed in rec centers is probably parents not wanting to be parents and watch their kids. I've seen that too often, where adults want someone else to watch their kids so they don't have to
And this is why I generally take review for anything on the Internet with many grains of salt. I will read reviews and if they're all complaining about the same thing I'll pay some attention. If they're all complaining about something different I will generally chalk it up to you can't keep everyone happy. Keep the good stuff coming guys.

My cousins and I may have resembled that “pack of kids” in the mid 70’s when our families went camping. 🤪🤪

Exactly
Sounds like many restaurant review. Mostly 4 or 5 ratings, but there is always 10-20% who said the food would kill their dog or some such.
I really enjoyed watching your review of reviews
Thank you.
This video was great! Its always nice to see and learn if these reviews are actually true or just someone who just likes to be a Kyle/Karen. Thanks LJMJ
Glad you enjoyed! ❤️❤️❤️
If ya say it high pitch...... HAHAHA. 😂
Nope! Like my state parks! Still have to deal w/ kids though. Thanks!
I enjoyed that. We have yet to go to Florida but we will soon. Would love to see just some Day in the Live videos of your family.
Thank you so much.
Marissa is so pretty, always a beautiful smile on her face.❤
❤
`Hi we are just starting and want help with thousand trails what is contact info for Warren and Sharon I dont see a link for them
Camping is what you make of it!!
That is very true.
Can't please everyone😅
LJMJ ❤❤❤🇬🇧
Great video idea.
Glad you enjoyed it
Staying near by at Lake Magic currently, the common complaint about TTO is check in and pool hot tub cleanliness seems to be an issue.
That’s more cell service than I get at my house.
The problem really is not the amount of bars but the congestion at this location.
What a fun video, 'fact checking' drama queen 1-star reviews. Loved it.
If you can't use the 5 g then there is no cell service. The Internet is the main reason I have unlimited cell service.
The problem with this park is not the availability of cell service, it is the congestion. Too many people on the same towers and service crawls to a halt.
Why are they charging $5 to receive a package
This is something many campgrounds are doing because the packages get to be too much work.
Great Video. Please promote this
Thank you, Promote this?
We just wouldn't camp at sites like these. It looks like a giant Walmart parking lot with no privacy. No thank you......we love our state park camp sites.
Did you go to the very back of the park. That’s where the scary campers are
Yes we went back into the D Section.
Airbnb New York. That’s all I have to say
Too many kids there. Where are the child free RV parks that are not 55+ 🤣
If you want 55+ RV parks- especially Thousand Trails there are a ton of encore parks!
@@LessJunkMoreJourney keyword "not"
My RV is haunted the tv will turn on day or night my cellphone will call my sister randomly
😱😱😱
We were there in January 2024. The site pavement was torn up so badly it took us 45 minutes to park our 30 foot rv.we smelled sewer the entire weekend. We had people walking through our site continuously to get to the bathhouse causing our dogs to go crazy. Your claim kids can be around is false as if you have a 12 yr and work during the day that kid stays with you not allowed to go to the rec unsupervised . Yes they can play outside. Your review was a little biased. If we were to ever need to stay there again to visit our son at UCF we would definitely ask to stay in the newer section .
Sorry your stay was not as good as ours.
Glad you enjoyed this video even if we didn’t nail that one point, we were branching out with a different style video.
Any plans to review an rv park with a golf course?
We're at Clerbrook Resort right now which is 30 minutes north of the Orlando resort. Second time here because nothing else was available. Not a fan. Standard sites are T-I-G-H-T and uneven. Lots of stray cats roaming around. Too far from shopping, dining, entertainment.
Not currently but you never know.
I can understand supervising your children to a certain age, but after that come on. If you raise your children properly and not feral there should be no issue. 8:45
Wait in line for hours for a site...maybe? Not in a million years. Reservations only for this RVer.
You do have a reservation but the turn over in this park is huge and they need to manage it the best they can.
: )
Funny video. Talk about a bunch of "Karens"!! However, that place you are staying or reviewing is way too big for my taste. Y'all with those big rigs have lost sight of what camping and enjoying the great outdoors is all about. You won't catch me at that place. ZERO atmosphere!!!
Our way of travel is not for everyone and it's not our mission to convince you to have our RV or travel to the places we do. We do hope to inspire others to create their own journey. 😀
Incognito. hey, that was some expensive coffee.
We love good coffee.
You are definitely onto something.
Myth busting RV park ratings and reviews.
That would be fun.
Agreed😂
Thank you so much.
Yeah, I love this idea!! 😂❤
Also, since little ones have very little control over bodily functions, spas become unsanitary almost instantly when ‘accidents’ happen.”
Additionally, “No young child should be allowed in a hot tub until they can stand on the bottom and have their head remain completely out of the water.
😮 that’s a HIPPA VIOLATION
EXCELLENT, well-done video!!
We also love Thousand Trails Orlando campground. We actually live 1 mile away. We found our RV port home when we were staying there about five years ago. At any rate, you guys did a great job creating this video! And what you found to be true from the one star reviews is actually true. No place is perfect. But we really do enjoy going there. Because we live so close, we are able to go get a day pass and enjoy taking walks and using the pool whenever we want to. Thanks again!
⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ - 5 star review! 😂👍🏻❣️
Thank you so much.
I think it's great that you can get a day pass and use the amenities from living so close-by!
That check in process would be a hard nope from me.
We love TTO.
TT Las Vegas is like a Bizarro prison with the citizens behind the barb wire
We have heard about that park. 😀
I paused the video and read the really, really long review. What that disabled woman went through is a crime.
If it's true
My review just looking at the aerial view would be more on the lines of feeling like I am in a hamster maze.
I love that Nathan turned into an Investigator investigated in thousand trails for the people who left one star. That’s funny. Glad you found the trash and tested out the cellular service and the kids in the hot tub. I loved how Hensley went into in cognito to
investigate about the kids in hot tub. I think it’s still a great park. Looks good to me. Great video and thank you for your review. Have a great week and see you soon!
We love the park as well and we had a lot of fun making this video.
@@LessJunkMoreJourney
I can tell. I had fun watching. I
Love when you do the reviews of parks it lets us know how it is there.
Dirty secret. Hot tubs a hotel’s, campgrounds and Vrbo’s are disgusting. Avoid them.
Now that's an in-depth RV Resort review! Jusay'n got down into the weeds in a good way.👍👍
Thanks
I expect the reviews complaining about kids being on house arrest and not allowed in rec centers is probably parents not wanting to be parents and watch their kids. I've seen that too often, where adults want someone else to watch their kids so they don't have to
I read the reviews and also youtube the place before I make a reservation. Thank you for this!
