    Nice explanation on volatility. I need to go back and watch the previous video where you talk about this more. The old school slots, my preferred, are hard to find on ships these days.

      Thanks! I struggle with trying to find the best way to explain volatility so your comment is welcomed and appreciated. And yes, old school is very hard to find. Makes me sad.

    Great info! We still get sucked in by the Piggies!!!

      Those pigs will get ya every time! You may or may not know but the size of the pigs have no bearing on if they will pop or not. It's a deceptive tool that I really wish would be outlawed.

    Chris, as always good information.
    I appreciate your down to earth approach.
    I enjoy the entertainment value I often get from gambling.
    I never go looking for grand slams/jackpots.
    I just want to be entertained for the time I am setting there the other stuff truly is just a bonus!
    We are going on a 9 day for our next cruise and I am looking forward to being entertained and having a great time!
    Will be keeping your tips in mind.

    Did you hear about the guy who hit the Dancing Drums $250K jackpot on the Jubilee on September 6? Congratulations to Marcus, wherever you are.

    Will you still have your points balance on your next cruise or will it start over?

    • @cruisingoncomps
      @cruisingoncomps  2 дня назад

      Unfortunately, points start over with Carnival after every cruise.

      @@cruisingoncomps wow, so when you people with 80000 points beside you, they accumulated that during the current cruise? And you will need to get to 6000 points again each cruise before you are offered other perks like premium dining?

    • @cruisingoncomps
      @cruisingoncomps  2 дня назад

      Yeah, afraid so. I’ve never put too much stock in current cruise comps. I just don’t think they are anywhere near worth it.

    New to the your channel so if this question has been asked or answered on a previous video please pardon me or maybe just point me to where I can find the answer. My question is how many cruises are you taking per year or did you have to take in order to start receiving the offers from the cruise lines. I ask this because I have an elevated status with the some of the casinos in LAs Vegas and around the US but it took and takes multiple trips per year to get and or maintain this status and the offers that come with it at this point. Thanks in advance for you time Chris

      I took my first ever cruise in Feb 2023 and two more at the end of 2023. I have taken one so far in 2024 with another booked for later this year. I had MGM Gold status that I had obtained through the "Status Match Merry-Go-Round" and used that status to match through the Carnival Fun Match Program. You can find a video on how to do that here: ruclips.net/video/DkouZpX9LV8/видео.htmlsi=OPSqXxiSXsr8BE4a
      As I say in the video, I had some incredible luck on my last two cruises which allowed me to generate a ton of coin-in. I think that, combined with the MGM status level I matched with put me on the radar with Carnival for sure. How long will it hold? I really can't say but when the time comes I'll just start status matching to other lines.
      If you have status with any land based casino I would urge you to do the status match. Just make sure and use your highest level status when you do it and be careful as you are doing it as they will not allow any type of re-application. Good Luck! Let me know how it goes if you choose that route.

      @@cruisingoncomps first and foremost thanks for the quick and very detailed reply. I currently have and have had Diamond Plus status with Caesars Ent. for the past few years. I did once do a status match with MGM a while back but from what I recall if you do not generate enough points within a certain period of time (90 days I believe) they revert you back to whatever your status was at prior. I am not sure if all the land based casinos do they same thin g or not. Like I mentioned in my first post in order to maintain my status with Cesars Ent. it does take make me a few trips a year to Vegas or their other properties since I have none here in Texas. I was just wondering if the cruise lines are pretty much the same, where I or my wife and I would need to take a few cruises a year in order to start getting said offers.

      @cruisingoncomps  5 дней назад +1

      Yeah, Vegas caught on I think to what people were doing (myself included) to keep their status. If you have Diamond Plus I think you'd be in really good shape to get an offer with a status match to Carnival right off the bat. I'd give it a shot.
