Thanks for sharing the knowledge. My issue is a scammer with a 639 area code constantly generating new numbers woth the exact area code and spam image of a usps alert. I wish there was a filter feature for text massages.

you are teaching how to block them yes....but you don't address the fact that these messages are accessible in a blocked folder. so they aren't actually blocked, they are hidden. I want to FULLY BLOCK someone. I don't want them piling up in the blocked folder. I'm too tempted to look. The person I want to truly block is toxic (but that shouldn't matter why). Is there a way to stop them from being anywhere on my phone INCLUDING from accumulating in my BLOCKED FOLDER??????

It doesn't work they call or text from another number.Every time you block the old one it's out of control. I've considered getting rid of my cell phone completely and go into a house phone because they could block the phone calls very well with a landline, but it's amazing that stupid cellular phone companies with higher tech equipment can't block a stupid text message.How pathetic

@@moy536 Yeah Verizon couldn't stop it but a Local landline phone company that's over a 100 years old has better telemarketer screening than Verizon can offer. I haven't had a scam call or any solicitor call into my house phone in 3 years. Whoever calls all they hear is the number you have dialed does not accept calls from solicitors and says if you are a solicitor hang up and add to your do not call list otherwise Stay on the line or press one. Then delays and says dialing. I suspect most of them are robot calls because it doesn't have any problems blocking every single one of them on the landline but God forbid it be a cellular phone company. They can even block it hypothetic and it costs more for cell companies but it costs less for a landline and they could do a better job at blocking it just makes me disgusted

I have Samsung s10e
I want to block unopened unwanted text messages.
I tried both of your suggestions and neither worked.
First option, tap and hold text does not then show the same screen and does not show a block feature.
Second option, tap the three lines also does not show a block feature.
Is my only option to manually put them in my contacts and use that block feature? I prefer not to have to do that.
Anyone else with a s10e have the same probkem?
