Like most of the comments say his hits are for the most part clean. He just hits hard, it’s an art form. Some players just know how to hit. It’s part of the game. Definitely not a dirt-ball.
He is not an enforcer, he is just a tough hard hitting Defenceman. An enforcer(they don't really have them anymore) where around to protect the skilled players from getting hit by players like Trouba or dirty players. Most of the hits are clean, but some are close to being over the line!!
Choo choo the Trouba train is a comin! Guy is a heat seeking missile. If you try to skate into the zone or try to get past him he will light you up! Guy is a menace!
Ranger's fan here. Trouba is known for hitting hard, and hitting clean. He very rarely hits illegally, and when he does, there's almost always something that changes just before the hit. And a lot of players see how hard the hit is and jump Trouba even though the hit was clean. And Trouba NEVER backs down when someone jumps him.
No issue with the Rangers but sure seems like he concusses a lot of people. There was a long discussion in the playoffs even that if his hit was legal, it's still not clean. Pure intent to hit the head. He's the dirtiest defenseman in the league but Parros is fine with him and refs are fine with him. No hate on him, get away with what you can get away with. His job is to lead the rangers to wins, but I still think he's extremely dirty.
@sean_ggugg23 In some cases I agree, in others, just cuz they aren't standing perfectly straight doesn't mean their head is down. Everyone skates somewhat down even with a head up when you have the puck, and Trouba seems to be the only one who consistently is getting these head shots now. If he's gone, these "well he got the head but also guy was low etc" hits are almost extinct.
Jacob Trouba is the captain of my team and people hate on him for being dirty, but he always lead with his shoulder . That hit on Domi is becasue Domi lost his edge. He's been around for a while and he is one of the only guys in the league left who lays real open ice hits. You want to see some dirty hits? look up Nasem Kadri, PK Subban and Brad MArchand. those guys elbow to the head or slew foot a guy going into the boards. People just get mad becasue he cracks people in half. Also, YNWA.
Big hits by defencemen are a ton of fun to watch, but I'd love to see you react to Erik Karlsson (played for the Ottawa Senators and now for the San Jose Sharks). He's won 2 Norris Trophies (and likely will win a 3rd this year) and is one of the best skaters in the league. He lit it up this year scoring over 100 points (again, as a defenseman) and almost, single-handedly, took the Senators to the Cup Finals in 2017.
most of these hits were legal, one of the first things you learn playing hockey is when a player like Truba, Denis Potion, Scott Stevens etc is on the ice Keep Your Fn Head Up, next thing is how to take a hit assuming you see it coming. Most of the players got up, if he wanted to inflict injury he'd use his elbows they wouldn't get up so quickly. Elbow pads now a days are made of hard plastic more of a weapon than protection.
Couple guys retired (Buff, Kronwall, Subban, Chara, etc.) and he looked around the league and decided "yup, im now the most punishing hitter in the league now"
This guy bro and him went to my high school I think we where in the same grad year an his brother was in my sisters English class I think his brother plays to
Yeaaaa this guy is one of the cleanest hitters in the league. That’s why you haven’t heard about him cause he’s typically not a dirty player. Even the hit in the NJ series wasn’t dirty at all.
Definitely isn't a clean hitter. He's elite at making legal hits but they are most definitely dirty. He targets guys in vulnerable spots and hits to hurt not to get the puck.
@@EamonnJCF he is though. I would say most if not all in this video the hits are clean. If you don’t like the physicality then there are other sports out there that don’t involve hitting.
His hits always border on dirty. He knows he can go for the head when a player isn’t standing straight up because he won’t get punished for it. It’s obvious he purposely head hunts but he does it in a similar way to Scott Stevens where you know he’s head hunting but it’s technically a legal hit
Does the UK have any youth hockey? I could see a GoFundme being set up to talk a team of 13-14 year old boys into letting Adam suit up and give him a crack at running through “The Gauntlet” during one of their practice sessions. That would make a fun video.
Trouba isn’t the only hard hitter. Check out Ovetchkins hits if you want a good time. Also hit are really common for anyone who doesn’t play or follow hockey.
Enforcers are rare nowadays in the NHL. Enforcers were there to hit players when they broke certain rules and didn't really do much in scoring. 0:55 - One of the factors of judging a head hit is seeing of the contact was avoidable. With Domi falling, this can be seen as an unavoidable hit as Trouba was already in the process of hitting and had no time to adjust. 1:31 - Under the letter of the rule, this is a legal hit. One angle suggests a head hit, and another one doesn't. No penalty was called initially.
Thing is, it's hockey. A lot of those hits are perfectly legal and the ones that aren't used to be legal, and common. When the slap shots started to send a puck 100 mph, more protective gear was needed. Getting hit in the head with leather body armor is not like getting hit with the hardened armor they all wear now. Head shots became illegal, blind side hits as well.
He's not an enforcer, He's the team's Captain, and He is what a guy with the "C" does...Hits are clean (Mostly) if they weren't he would be fined a lot more, the NHL loves to fine players....
Soccer fans may not understand but checking/hitting in hockey is legal with exception of hitting from behind and targeting the head. And for the most part hockey players won't lay there acting like they are hurt.
Trouba is a dirt ball. But a clean dirt ball. He’s the kind of player you hate when he’s playing against you because he’ll take your guys out cleanly with zero regard for anyone’s safety. But you want him on your team. This video didn’t even include a few of his biggest hits from late this last season
Trouba is a good player, for the most part, and his hits are usually fine. But he has been known to cross the line, imparting an upwards motion to his checks that is dangerous, and can lead to the head being the principal point of contact. I still like him and his play style, but there's a chance he turns into the next Tom Wilson circa 2018, and nobody wants that. It's fine to play a hard-hitting game as long as you are disciplined. If not, things can get ugly pretty fast.
he loves blindsiding people, which is kind of dirty in a way and i dont like trouba at all, but i have to give him... he always tries to keep the hit clean, always. So he isnt a "dirty" player. But damn if u dont gotta keep ur head on a swivel when he is on the ice
I'll agree with most of the comments. Trouba is one of the last players who knows how to dish out big open-ice checks. And it irritates me that every time he does it cleanly, he still has to deal with the butthurt teammates of the guy who shouldn't have been skating with his head down.
Most of these were clean hits. If his elbow is down but the player that's being hit head is down and head contact si made, that's not a penalty. But there were a few high elbows by Trouba that were deff penalties
Jacob Trouba is not a dirtball. His hits are 99% clean and when "dirty" its not intentional. He is a hard hitting defenseman. He is also the captain of the NY Rangers. If he was just a meathead he wouldnt be captain.
Trouba is actually more like Niklas Kronwall formerly of Detroit. I think Kronwall was a little bit better at hitting than Trouba. But Kronwall was just a tad dirty I really hate the evolution of teams reacting to clean big open ice hits.
I mean you clearly don't watch hockey, and that's fine, but he's not aiming for the head. The guy getting hit bears responsibility to not put themselves in a vulnerable position when getting hit. All of these guys going way too low at the last second or trying to turn away from the hit are going to get lit up, and it's not Trouba's fault.
Im a candian hockey is my sport and i know a day i will see somebody die at the rink. I know it gon a happen. The sport is to fast and the player didint respect each other so it gonna happen

Trouba has the timing to make clean hits look dirty it's like people forget he's on the ice lol
On too many of his hits he leaves his feet. That is predatory. Tom Wilson kind of stuff.
Ever heard of Reeves? He isn't in the league for his scoring touch.

I think you'd like Goalie goals, those are so insanely cool.
🤣🤣🤣! He’s a dirty player and he loves to use elbow. Like when last tried to Palat but failed and when he hit Meier, that was dirty
