Patrick, thanks as always for posting! That weather looks a little different from Fort Worth I'll bet! Weather in Austin is fantastic right now (lows in high 40s, highs in 60s). I really enjoy your "slice of life" posts...definitely makes imagining a retirement move for me and the wife a lot easier. Greece had been at the top of her list, but I'm slowly bringing her around to the idea of visiting Albania (since it's just next door)!
Pogradec is a very united city there is no racism they have a mosque and a church and the prices are very cheap and fair not to mention how beautiful it is, a very underated city❤️
These are terrific videos. They are raw and day to day, unlike some that are edited to look like commercials. When I lived there in the 80s there were nothing but donkeys and wagons in the streets, maybe 2 cars at best. Now it’s so developed I’m considering investing in a condo for vacationing. Thanks for sharing how beautiful Pogradec looks. Waiting for the next vid….
Pogradec looks like just about anywhere in the southern part of the former Yugoslavia. I really wish I knew more about Albania's history, especially during the Communist period; I would love to see photos/ videos of how a place like Pogradec looked like at that time. Thanks for your reply & be well!
One problem many countries have is that sidewalks and walkways aren't cleared when it snows, which makes things worse for wheelchair users and pedestrians. Pogradec has the conundrum that it has terrible infrastructure for wheelchair users, but has so many folks walking that the sidewalks are in better shape in a snow than many places in the US or Canada would be! Thanks for sharing you walk!
Good to see ya out and about friend. That is the negative thing there; They do not know to salt the sidewalks to avoid injury to people. Be safe and thanks for taking us on the walk!
It’s the same thing here in South Carolina. Everything shuts down when it snows a lot less. And even after the snow melts, schools start late because of black ice. It’s to be expected in a place where snow is not common.
I could handle a snow like that for a few days each year. Much more than that, and it becomes oppressive. On the other hand, heat can be oppressive too. Pick your poison. Thanks for the Neptune tour. We'll probably be shopping soon for a few items you showed.
In the live video you mentioned steaks. There is a place that's specialized in North Italian type steaks, in it in your area(on hour ride) on the Korca-Greek road. Taverna Ziçishti, they have a instagram page, and plenty of google reviews.
yea...depends on the fruit stands, and how far your willing to walk in the weather to check them out...lol...When the wind was ripping i checked out 1 stand....but thank you !
Wow, that a good bit of snow! It's not going to stay though is it? I love snow when it comes for a visit, hehe, but it can definitly wear out it's welcome. The veggies really are great. Yes, on my drive down to Saranda last November I went through a valley with thousands of green houses and they were busy. Oh, a friend here in Shkodër told me the shorter way they say Thanks, it's 'Falmners'.
yes on outage. Was odd yesterday. Power would go out for like 5 seconds. Then come back on. Trouble with that i would kill the internet. It would take a few minutes to come back.
I am on a keto/carnivore diet so lack of vegetables is not a problem for me ))) I eat mostly meat(beef, pork, lamb) eggs, butter, bacon. What was the cost of the sausage/kilo and the each price of eggs? I eat a lot of both. Ukraine has a 100 kinds of sausage and I suspect Albania has a variety of sausage as well. Maybe you can post a price list of prices one day. Thank for the good videos...pete PS I agree about camera etiquette 🖕🖕
he had 2 different eggs..white eggs ..20 lek..( about 22 cents a piece. The brown eggs bout 30 cents a piece. Before anyone says why, i dont know. sausage i dont know..i will try to pay attention next time sorry.
its a very long story. I dont blame people for asking. I stay away from answering tax and visa questions. 1) im just a youtuber..2) information on line is just wrong. And it will start a argument. I visited a lawyer the 2nd day i was here. And then a accountant. All togather 3 lawyers and 2 accountants. I plead with people when they come out for a visit to do the same. I hope you understand
Albania does not tax pensions, I mean even its own citizens. I know a lot of Italian pensioners move there and become resident. I think that way they don't pay tax in Italy and definitely not in Albania, keep it all. You need to find out what the US does to your pension if you move overseas. But as Patrick advised, always ask an expert.
Hi Lindy. i have a facebook but im never on it. If im in town when you come we can for coffee or a beer. We really just travel on a whim with out notice. You can email me at...roadway12345@yahoo.com...im just afraid to tell you yes..and then be in Corfu or Macedonia when you come.

One of the many things i love here is its location. Thank you for your comment!

yea...April stayed in for a few days. dont want her to slip and fall.
Who you going to suit?
@ i dont understand your question...who im going to suit?
@@beubejlliu9390 To sue someone in Albania, for negligence, does not work the same as in the USA.

Wow😮, live,, man,, Sto guardando la mia città, Grazie, molto interessante 👌
I love your city and its people ! Everyone has been so kind to us.
lol.. maybe there are some special shoes for walking in that weather over there.
It's nice seeing people greet you back ..
i have water proof boots so my feet dont get wet. But they still slip on the ice

Hi kevin. I love the snow, hate the ice.
Thank you for the prices.
you for watching and your comment.
We’re at 9 degrees here in Minnesota today. It’s better than yesterday when we never got out of negatives.
Hi Jennifer! Yea...Minn. gets cold !

Ahhhhh ! Thank you!
Looks like Atlanta this past weekend! We are just not made (equipped) for it. :-)
Drive careful brother.
Up by the spar market there is a bunch of fruit and vegetable stands! They were even open while it was all windy and snowy.

That only in the north where they speak Geg. It would sound strange in Pogradec. The informal way to say thank you is “Rrofsh.”
hi ! i love the snow too ! id take it over rain any day of the week.
be careful my Man ....Ill wait for you at the Gjiro shop lol
lol
we had about 7 inches of snow In Siloam Springs Arkansas a few days ago
i heard about that storm. stay safe
Does it snow in Tirana?
Not really. But in the mountains surrounding Tirana.
@patrickoverseas alright thanks
Before 2000 it used to snow every year in Tirana. Now it has become a rare event due to global warming and it happens once in few years!!
@IndritBonati okay thanks bro
Hi
Patrick
Can I ask a question
Any electric power outage or internet outage, ????
As we trade stocks online ,
yes on outage. Was odd yesterday. Power would go out for like 5 seconds. Then come back on. Trouble with that i would kill the internet. It would take a few minutes to come back.
@@patrickoverseas THATS NO GOOD FOR OUR WORK , BUT THANKS FOR THE FEED BACK,

Does Albania tax US pensions?

I use Google translate on my phone a LOT in Ukraine and in other countries. Do you, or anyone, use it here in Albania?
yes, all the time.
Remember- we are paying $10 - a dozen eggs
Hi Diane ! i remember
Lol...$4.00 for a dozen in Montana.
You need to shop around. $10/dozen is being overcharged. At Walmart 12 for $4.17, 18 count for $6.16, 36 count for $12.26.
Hi Patrick, I will be in Pogradec in a couple of weeks. Would love to meet up. Do you have insta or fb to connect?
