Hey Matt, still got this GU? How did/does it go offroad? I mainly tour. Anything you wouldn't do now that it's on airbags? I'm in the process of getting my GU on this same kit plus GVM upgrade
Hey mate definitely still have it. It's been punished non-stop since the install and haven't had any issues yet. We've just returned from another filming trip and it has kept up with the rest of the convoy no dramas at all.
Couple questions... 1) What happens if you tear a bag..say on a rock, wire or other item, way out on one of the corrugated tracks? No suspension anymore? 2) Can you lift it and drop it in motion.. 3) Are we able to inflate to Max.. then lower it flat when pulled over by Miss POPO 👮 who says she knows more about suspension than any 4wder (including the owner of ICON in back seat) cause she owns a jeep and has been driving for 11 years...and so once she leans over with the PINK measuring tape, I press lower...Id love to see her face!!? haha . although...she would no doubt come up with some BS that it's illigal as she tried doing and fining us for having no keys (after leaning in to take keys out so we don't drive away, and embarrassd to in realising no key) in our push button start X5! Awesome.. I so wanna film her face when she says "I know suspension and this isn't 2 inch lift"... then she measures 2 inch lift after lowered. 😁
@@theexplorelife The suspension moves through those ranges anyway when driving on coils or air bags, so the bushes are no more or less stressed by the conversion.

what happens when a stick goes right through the airbag ? you just drop to the bump stops or do these airbags have multiple chambers ?

How tough are the bags offroad any chance of them getting popped or damaged out on the tracks (thinking tree branches etc)
haven't had an issue yet mate but we do carry a spare airbag on longer trips. not hard to replace either.

Good way to chew out all your bushes, which REALLY don't like all those movements on a patrol.
