Is there any sort of chart/graph indicating relative performance (Compressive Load / LBF - Compressive Strain % just like the one @2:40 in this video) at different temperatures to help someone in the midwestern US evaluate how these might do in the wide range of temperatures we experience at different load levels? Something like a 68 degree (common ambient room temp) vs 35 degree (refrigerator) vs 0 degree (freezer) charted would be very helpful. I love the concept of this product for a fairly light duty (2023 Nissan Frontier Pro 4x Crew Cab) pickup that mostly tows in Minnesota Spring/Summer/Fall but I'm curious if these will cause an unpleasant ride in or even damage the product in the winter months when we swing into the negative (F) temps in the depths of winter for weeks at a time?
Love this comment. Unfortunately we don't have a chart like that at this time. We'll keep it in mind for future videos. The rebound time starts to get slower at about -20 degrees fahrenheit. - Josh

Thank you, we are glad our video helped you! Based off of your description, we would recommend an SSR-130-54(Yellow Sumos) on the rear. Please let us know if you have any further questions or concerns! -Matt
Have a RAM 3500 and towing a 15,000 LB fifth wheel. I feel like air bags, Timbrens or Sumo springs would all work when the trailer is connected but will Sumo springs make more of a difference than the other two when the truck has no load? I'm looking to soften the ride when no trailer is attached.
Thanks Jim. Airbags will likely really firm up your unloaded ride, and Timbren is rubber so you could potentially see a negative or harsh unloaded ride there too. SumoSprings are designed to work when you load up, but leave you with a factory ride when unloaded. - Tom
Thank you for this simple explanation. I'm currently researching on what to add to the rear of my 1998 Ford Econoline van, which is used as a daily driver plus camping. I carry around 1200 #'s when it's set up with gear and necessary items for off grid use. When I added a swing away cargo carrier, the van squatted with just the carrier alone. Looking to add sumo springs instead of air bags on a 1st gen Sequioa that will be used primarly for towing a 4500lb camper. Which color would you recommend? 2 inch lift kit will be installed when installing the sumo springs
Hello! If you are not loaded down and/or towing very often, then the blue (-40) kit is the best option. If you are loaded down more than about 50% or 60% of the time, then the black (-47) kit is recommended. As for adding spacers -- you will need to provide our Customer Service team a measurement from where your factory bump stop is mounted, down to the contact point and they can assist you with special ordering spacers.
Thanks for this video. Might just be what I'm looking for to stiffen up the rear while towing our camper but keep the ride good otherwise since the truck is our main family car. This, just like airbags, will change the rear ride height when loaded with trailer right? Cuz it won't let the truck sag as much? So i'll need to redo the WDH setup?
Hi, thanks for reaching out. Yeah, our SumoSprings perform just like airbags except no air required. They'll help you level out your load when you're hauling or towing. - Josh
I have air lift installed on my 05 4runner and it’s good when fully loaded especially in the highway. Loaded with family stuff going to the beach for a 5 day outing along with 2 bikes on a rack. However when truck is empty it is so hard it feels like there is no suspension even with the minimum psi. I will try this product in the coming springtime.
Jim, the Sumo Springs that I have on my F150 4x4 sit above the axel one inch and do not engage unless under load. When under load they engage and make all the difference in rear end sway, corner lean, and squat. However when pulling the RV the ride stiffens up and bumps in the road feel more solid!🤣👍 Not so much with the boat, it has half the hitch weight.
Yes they do! They’re designed to reduce rear and front-end sag, decrease vibration, stabilize sway, and soften harsh rebounds. If you're Interested, please check out our website: www.superspringsint.com
I have a 2019 f3500 w/supreme cutaway utility body. I have problems when parking in the driveway of customers when there are more slopped driveways. I would like to raise the tailgate when there are more slopped driveways. Do you have any solutions.
Our SumoSprings could be a great solution to help stabilize your vehicle and improve clearance when parking on inclines. They’re designed to enhance load leveling and prevent sagging, which might just give you that extra lift needed at the tailgate.
I have upgraded rear leafs on my 18 raptor, im looking into some hydraulic bumps, very$$$$$ would these work for an offroad application? I never put anything in the bed. Well rack and spare. What color would best suited for this. Mainly to help with hard hits, bottom out

Leaf Springs were upgraded to 350kg and now it’s extremely harsh ride when camper off and just 100kg. When 800kg on the leafs support weight height ok but: camper is bouncy and not supported well. I have a 2018 f150 with a 3 in lift, I have about 8 1/2 to 8 3/4 gap between chassis and axel. I off road and overland with my truck. I have a bed rack with a RTT and awning on all the time and when I add my camping gear and Waterport, the rear sags a bit, anywhere between 1-2in. What would be best suited for my truck?
I have a E450 Class C MH that came with airbags on the rear and was wanting to know if the sumoSprings would be a better option for ride quality and stability? TY
It depends, I will need to know who the MH was built by, and if the airbags are mounted between the axle and the frame or are they mounted on top of the spring pack and attached alongside the frame?
Have a 2006 Tundra with a 350lbs camper and 200lbs of gear on there full time. Stock leaf springs. Will this bring me back to stock ? Is this recommended for this application. Go offroad often 😊
I have a 2003 ford f150 harley davidson truck with a 3/4 belltech drop what do u have for the rear of my truck cause belltech bump stops not helping me at all...
Will this assist if you are running at payload capacity? I have a GMC 2500 HD rated payload cap at 3065. Bought a 5th wheel with unloaded pin weight of 2000. We will be right up against the payload capacity, if not slightly over. I know that you cannot increase payload capacity but will this help like a "helper" spring? Saw this recommended against the other guys product and it was said that this provided a softer ride. appreciate your feedback.
Hi Edward 👋🏼 You're right, this doesn't increase any GVWR, but it will increase your load capacity. Our SumoSprings are rated as "additional" load capacity. Meaning, when your truck gets loaded up with 2,000 lbs of weight and starts sagging, we add capacity to that to stop the sag, sway, body roll, and bounce. The beauty is, it goes to work for you when you're loaded up, but works in concert with your factory suspension when you're unloaded and doesn't affect your stock ride. Hope that helps! -Tom
@Ryan Hendricks yes I am aware of the legalities of adding anything. Thanks for the reply. I sent the black sumos back and ordered the heavy duty blue ones as my pin weight is almost 3000 pounds. They came the day before I left on this trip. Will install them next week.
Hi John 👋🏼 You may see a slightly lower rebound on the spring, meaning it could take a little longer to come back from compression - but nothing so serious that performance would be hindered. As far as their longevity, we took them through a pretty rough torture test (ruclips.net/video/wqF1JaauTTE/видео.html), and then used them after with no performance change. I think you're gonna be ok! - Tom
With lift kits it gets a little tricky, I would recommend you call our service department so we can discuss the specifics and determine what will work best! (805)-745-5553
I’ve got the 1500lb springs (SSR-207-47, I think??) on my 2500hd. I got ‘em on sale and couldn’t beat them for the price. They’re not obtrusive at all under normal driving conditions.

I have a 2011 Chevy Tahoe with a 6” drop in the rear. Would these work as a bump stop because at the moment every time I hit a bump it slams my axle pretty bad. And would they be a good fit being lowered. Thanks
I have a 2020 gmc Sierra 4 dr short box 4x4 I would need these while hauling a dual axle construction tool filled trailer! research shows no SKU # for my truck so can you point me in the right direction so that I can order a set ?
2022 GMC One ton dual wheel HD camper package. 4000lbs camper load. I have about 2 1/2 inch drop when camper is in the pickup bed. Can Sumo be used to raise my truck back to its level factory operation position? My headlights also point up too high.
I have a ‘12 Ram 1500 ST quad cab 5.7 Hemi with a 8500lb rating. Going to be towing a 5600lb dry, 7000lb loaded 26’ standard Ty camper with tongue weight around 1k… curious what color to get that’ll work best for my application Would the SSR-307-47 work well?
Hi Brandon! The question for us always is, how often? If you're loaded up all the time then it makes sense to get a heavier density. But most people hauling a camper are weekend warriors who like to keep their unloaded ride nice so we just about always recommend the blue -40 density. The SSR-307-47 is going to work well, and if you find that you need more, we can always switch to the -47. -Tom
@@SuperSpringsInternational Thanks Tom. I just realized my rear is one a 6” lift so my gap from axle to top frame is a lot more. This makes me not know where to start now… I’m assuming a camper is going to have around 850-1100 tongue weight loaded. Should I attach the camper and see what measurement I need to be making contact?
I have a 2020 1500 6 inch bds lift i have air bags for our camper and a Roadmaster helper spring rides very well unloaded Bilstein 5100 shocks the problem that I have his we run pretty heavy on the back of the truck which bumps creates a bouncing effect I've got a feeling your setup would help with they've got the heavier suspension package ordered from the factory with all of our stuff and tongue weight we run about 4200 lbs on the rear axle do you have any kind of setup that would allow me to keep my airbags and still use your product?
I have an old 2002 Xterra Supercharged 4x4. The rear end of my rig sags a bit when I tow my dirt bike on a motorcycle hitch carrier (appx total weight is about 350 lbs). Do you guys have a solution for my old Xterra to get it to stop sagging/. Thank you!
I have a 2021 Ford F-150 Fx4. I’m currently running Timbrens on it and I’m not happy. I’m looking for something a little less severe and gentler. Especially when pulling my camper on the old concrete interstates highways that make it feel like I have steel instead of rubber. Also, when i’m not pulling a camper, the jolt is pretty extreme when I hit a decent bump, when the timbren touched. I even took a 1” spacer out. Do you think your product will be gentler, but still support in my application?
Hello 👋🏼 Short answer is, yes. Timbrens are rubber which means they have a linear spring curve and push back hard regardless of how much weight is pushing against them. This means the potholes are rough and and bumps a felt all the way through the seat. SumoSprings have zero rubber in them; we use a microcellular polyurethane. It's a progressive spring rate that is designed to leave your factory ride untouched and then come into contact and go to work for you when you're loaded up or when you hit a harsh bump and soften the ride. For your truck, I'd recommend the SSR-143-40-2. This gives you the best unloaded ride as well as the best support for towing. The SSR-146-40 is also a great option! -Tom
I have a 2012 ford expedition that I use to haul my travel trailer. The trailer is close to the top of the tow capacity and it sags a little bit even with the weight distribution system. Can you point me towards the best air bag solution?
I'd recommend our Coil SumoSprings. They'd fit your vehicle. Please go to our Coil SumoSprings page and follow the directions to get the right size for your vehicle: SuperSpringsint.com/Coil-SumoSprings/ - Josh
Interesting video...still have air bags in the box saw this video and was wondering on a 22 Tacoma TRD with the level kit from dealer these will keep the level but add lift when loaded for trips. I carry alot of camping kayaking equipment. And a added cargo trailer in the future the ride will not sage with a weight distribution system used.
I destroyed the ride of my Tacoma with airbags-never again. Even at zero psi they interfere with the ride and acted like a huge bump stop. I finally got Deaver stage 1 leaf springs and fixed everything. I ordered Sumos for the front of my truck and I’d bet Sumos on the back are the next best option for you if you choose not to replace your leaf springs. Again, air bags are garbage.
I added the Super Springs. Made it a little rougher on rough paved roads but not too excessive. On smooth freeways they are fine. Add my trailer and loaded the ass sags a little but I can get a deeper drop and flip it around. I'm using a Curtis 3 inch now. Hows the ride with the new springs...are they a progressive type? As you load more, more of the spring is engaged?
Added sumo springs yellow ones, they are touching my frame when not loaded, can I cut them to have a better ride when I’m not towing.my wife won’t ride with me because it’s way to bumpy.maybe cut one of the tiers off.
We never recommend cutting our SumoSprings. But we want to make sure you have the right SumoSprings for your vehicle. Shoot us an email with your concern at tom@supersprings.com, and we'd be glad to help. - Josh
I have a wheelchair lift under my 2021 GMC Savanna Explorer conversion van. Extended wheelbase. The lift makes it sit lower on the passenger side. Will these level me out?
I’m looking to add something to the rear suspension on my welding rig. It’s a 2015 f350 cab and chassis… is sumo springs something that would help with my trucks squat and ride quality?
Looking at potentially hauling a slide in pop up camper on my Tacoma and seeing if these will this increase my load capacity? With the camper, I'll be slightly under my GVWR rated load capacity but looking to increase by 300-400lbs. Thanks
Hi Shawn! Pretty sure you're on coils? You'll wanna go to our Coil SumoSprings page and use the tool we provide there for measuring and getting the right part size. Super simple process and it ensures you get the right one... www.superspringsinternational.com/coil-sumosprings/ -Tom
I bet we've got something that would work! Shoot us some pictures of your suspension setup in the rear as well as the weight you typically carry to marketing@superspringsint.com - we will work with our engineers to see what might work! - Alex
No really. They install in the same place as each other. This is the airbag alternative. No lines, no leaks, no maintenance, and a lifetime warranty. Our product is a fit it and forget it solution - let's you keep the factory ride in tact and then goes to work for you when you need it most! -Tom
If your truck is sagging these will help bring it up to stock height. Some people have also told us that they get a little lift after they installed these. - Josh
I installed the Timbren active OR bump stops (reverse U bolt Kit).. not as tall as i had hoped as I have about a 1.5-2" gap between the stop and the frame.. Are the Sumos taller? Would it work with my existing set up as I literally just did the install last week lol
We typically recommend about 1/4 to 1/2" of gap between the contact point and the SumoSprings. There's likely a larger gap for the rubber bump stops you installed because rubber is mostly linear in its spring curve, and unless you've got a good amount of weight against, it's going to kick like a buck. As for the install, we use our own bracketry and flip kit so you'd probably be switching the whole thing out. I'm not sure what vehicle this is for or what the spring height that you installed is, but it sounds like a Tacoma maybe? In that case, our SumoSprings are 4" sitting on a raised bracket of an inch. We can also add an inch spacer in there if needed. Hope this helps! -Tom
If your vehicle is sagging, it should bring it up to factory height. If your vehicle is level, then SumoSprings shouldn't affect your unloaded ride quality. - Josh
Hilux will be a big market if this will help soften the ride as it's too much truck ride. Not everyone purchase the Hilux to use in heavy load. It's to drive through flooded area in Philippines.
Do you own a pair of SumoSprings? If you fall within the 30-day purchase window, we'd be glad to exchange your SumoSprings for a lighter density to accommodate your needs. -Josh
Hey @FlipSideGarage, it seems we don't currently list that in our application guide. However, the Coil SumoSpring might be just what you need! You can determine the correct size for your vehicle by using our Coil Gap Measurement Tool. Download it here for the best fit: superspringsinternational.com/CSS-CoilGapTool.pdf. Hi Dan! Bouncing as in your unloaded ride is stiffer than you expected? What is your vehicle set up and which color/density did you add for how often you tow and load up? -Tom
Timbren made of rubber. A hole in the center and progressive shape, not solid rubber. You will not feel them when unloaded because they are not in contact with the axel till your springs are compressed
@@SuperSpringsInternational it’s not always loaded but when it’s loaded probably around 8-9k lbs. I will be getting a enclosed trailer to haul all the gear soon

Hello! Yes, we have kits for a 2003 F150. As long as your vehicle is at stock height, these will work for you!

Will I have issues in Canada? OAT can be -30C in the winter. Not going to be towing then just curious about any wear damage that might occur?
Hi John 👋🏼 You may see a slightly lower rebound on the spring, meaning it could take a little longer to come back from compression - but nothing so serious that performance would be hindered. As far as their longevity, we took them through a pretty rough torture test (ruclips.net/video/wqF1JaauTTE/видео.html), and then used them after with no performance change. I think you're gonna be ok!

Would the SSR-307-47 work well?
Hi Brandon! The question for us always is, how often? If you're loaded up all the time then it makes sense to get a heavier density. But most people hauling a camper are weekend warriors who like to keep their unloaded ride nice so we just about always recommend the blue -40 density.
-Tom

Our SumoSprings will keep your truck level with or without weight even if you attach a trailer. - Josh

I did a flip kit on my truck and trying to raise it back up an inch or two will these help with that?
-Tom
