One thing that also I am appreciating on the SteamDeck is getting to use Linux more often, so I can get used to the quirks it has without having to set up a dual boot, or taking the plunge and switching my primary computer to linux. I can see what programs are available and possible workarounds with very little risk. With most of my annoyance being the onscreen keyboard because I didn't bring my physical keyboard with me, which is my own fault. I've also found a lot of games that are listed as unverified or unsupported work pretty fine, with the biggest issue being text size. My biggest gripe with the system is the filtering system in the library because I can't exclude a tag, so i can't hide VR games or something else.
To answer the question of what i'm looking for, since you asked: I'm looking for a console, not a makeshift windows phone or a gaming laptop with switch controllers at each end. That's why steam deck instead of rog or lenovo, because what people want is a console, something to play games on hassle free. You made the argument that this is a corolla while others may be a maseratti~, that's because this went the actual console route: ps5, xbox or switch - none of them are incredibly powerful nor incredibly expensive, they have a computing budget and whatever works on them is hella fun because they offer the hassle free gaming experience.
I love my SD! If anyone here is a fan of RTS’s I highly recommend trying out Age Of Mythology Retold on the Deck. This might sound like heresy but I like the controller support they’ve done as much maybe even possibly more than playing it with Keyboard+Mouse.
@@nikamegrelidze908 Oh sorry about that, The game is a remaster of an older title, the remaster has only been out a couple of weeks so it currently needs to run using the Proton Beta. If you go into settings on the Steam Deck you can check a box to opt into the beta and then the game works flawlessly. But considering the games popularity and it coming from such a huge developer it will probably work without the beta opt in soon.
Looks awesome, I put it on my wishlist. I’m currently going through the riftbreaker not RTS but kinda. It’s very fun if you like base building RTS games.
Another great controller friendly RTS is Halo Wars, it runs flawlessly too. I highly recommend that. Halo wars 2 is locked to the windows store. Otherwise id bet that one is really good on the deck too.
great video, personally im looking for the best possible emulation machine, got the KinHank drive coming essentially for the Roms, but considering a handheld to then take on holiday :)
Don't forget that steam OS is way lighter than windows 11 and uses less resources and with constant cashing shader updates we get very good performance even though it's not a powerful device
Can you make you a tier list must have of device we must have: 1 choice From 0-100 € From 100-200€ From 200-300€ And go on...thanks Choice from comfortable-performace-screen-battery....thanks 😊
Rog ally users say their console is better just because its more powerful. But to me the steam deck is the best gaming controller due to gyro, trackpads, and 4 back buttons. Im dominating keyboard and mouse players in the finals. Plus you can use aim assist with gyro to make it extremely easy to aim. You cant tune a rog ally like a steam deck to make it useful for competitive shooters. Hell i even use my steam deck as a steering wheel for racing games no setup needed
@DaveyG that's wild. I live a mile from the ocean, and I'd never consider bringing a steam deck there. Even if i wasn't worried about ocean spray, the sand alone is enough of a deterrent for me. I'm very protective of my electronics. Lol But hey, no judgment, if it's working for you, keep on keeping on brother. 🤙
Windows bricks bro 😅 seriously… this windows bricks can play COD6 and more than what the steam deck can do and steam also, see steam deck is a great console you don’t have to throw shade on windows handheld they are getting there
I was thinking to say the same thing. I have both and no matter how much ppl claim windows is so bad for gaming I'm loving my experience with Armory crate...the steam deck is kinda simple if u are only playing steam games...i just wish the rog ally had some trackpads though.
I feel like since the price has come down on both it’s getting to a preference of hardware and software. I think both are good gaming machines, I personally prefer the steam deck. I’ll be doing a big pc handheld roundup video at some point soon towards the end of the year. So stay tuned.
@@str8poisintv131 I'm pretty sure the general consensus regarding window based handheld PC is window OS isn't well optimized and designed for handheld gaming ... not "windows is bad for gaming"
Bold move with that thumbnail. Nintendo is on a rampage for that stuff
I know, it’s game footage of my personal game so we shall see.
Crusader Nintendo Lolz XD.Btw I just got My Steam Deck this thing is a Monster console,it's addictive.
the fact that Nintendo just got exposed for using an emulator in their museum. I don't think nobody should care; Nintendo are hypocrites.
Bro that's what I said when I saw the thumbnail this guy have some balls lol
Definitely not monster in terms of power@@WARLORD626

Great point, I use one for my office tasks and video backgrounds too.
Nice video, great quality i have a steam deck and i will never regret of this buy !
Steam deck is a monster of handheld pc’s!

The fact my oled SD ran Black myth wukong @25-30 fps was amazing for the little SD!
This dude looks like someone I would watch 3 Ninjas with or someone I'd randomly play Dreamcast with at Kmart back in the day
I still only have my q2 steam deck, the device is still amazing, with minimal stick drift, its there, just not to bad yet after 2yrs
The ninjas are getting sent lol
Steam Deck as a Toyota Corolla is an amazing analogy and entirely too accurate.

I love how steam deck lcd still used in videos more than ally x but fact i love when deck had console age 2021-2027 to deck2
Did they release a roadmap for the next one?
what is the game at minute 8:26?
is still worth it to buy SD OLED right now?
Yes
I am selling. . . . SD OLED 512 GB with modcase
@dheerajandani921 hey is it still available?

Good point!
Great work
Thanks!
The Steam Deck is worth it for EmuDeck alone. I would've bought it even if it didn't work with any Steam games.
Same here. One of the main reasons why I got one (I even sold my Switch to get one), was that it could emulate PS2 games. That alone was enough.
man put Heavenly Sword in the video!
Guys Nintendo has scoulded him before, he can still handle it
Either that or it's just the high temps playing cyberpunk

Wow that’s cool, I knew their software was helpful but not this good.
Also because windows and handheld dont really well mix
I NEEED ITTTTTTT‼️‼️‼️‼️
Asking for trouble including anything nintendo related with the steam deck
Even if its clickbait

What do i know
steam deck on the beach? whats wrong with you?
Every summer since launch!

I love my SteamDeck but I want the ROG because now there are so many games I want to play that won’t work because of the anti-cheat.
The SD is a nice device, but I've been much happier since selling it for the ally X. The freedom of the Ally X was just a win for me.
You're a fool lmao

Why will I get a rog ally when I already have windows laptop, steamdeck is the original handheld pc/console.

Maybe AllyX, but don't waste your money on the og ally. Steam deck is better for most situations.
