when i was a child (about 3-4 years old), i was so terrified of santa i was legitimately missing sleep. so my parents had to tell me he was made up. apparently i was incredibly relieved.

It's kind of you to humour Sammy when he indulges in his adolescent phase of pretending Santa's not real, but I think it's for the best if you stop enabling him. He needs to grow up and realize that saying things aren't real might seem cool and sophisticated, but true maturity lies in accepting that life isn't all about cynicism. I actually learned really recently. I learned he is made up in school. I started to cry but no one even cared because they thought it was childish of me to think he was real.
