Hey Chad. Just one tip, the "threshold" setting for bloom (and other places) works the other way around from the way you are tweaking it. By lowering the threshold for bloom for example, Rs will consider more dark pixels as areas that should get bloom, essentially adding more bloom to the image. If you want less bloomy image, less '90s soap opera feel, raising the threshold is the way to go.
Love this tutorial! Thanks! Which GPUs are you running? I saw your initial specs on the AVA... website, but wonder if you're running anything different at the moment of this video. Much appreciated!
I have the same issue here: Standard c4d light is being created instead of placing the rs light when using the lighting tool... Did I miss some kind of checkbox?? :)
HY GG. How are you?? Is there by any means how you can convert c4d materials to octane materials? I'm not familiar with octane, I just joined the Octane render service. One of my friends made me an Octane Guy. I really love Octane very powerful. Thank You for all the tutorials and I will look forward to hearing from you.
Hey Chad! Nice video! Really like to see how you play around with RS, btw I 've seen you had a Lut in to the Rs Settings. Could you tell us which one you are using for this? Thanks! :)
I would really love some hyperrealistic product model creation. Fragrance bottles and cosmetics. There isn't enough of that for the likes of us who are really interested in CGI photography.
@@Greyscalegorilla a tutorial using standard cinema4D lights and the physical renderer will be greatly appreciated. there are options in the RS Dome lights that seems to require workarounds to achieve with regular cinema4D lights. thanks guys!
Dude! This is the type of lighting tutorial I would love to see a course of. Hearing you talk through your process and explaining your decisions is huge. If GSG put together a course on lighting, I'd be in day one. Big time.
I'm sure this was great information.... but it would be nice if you go over the interface for those of us who don't have all the extra stuff you have. This doesn't look like MY C4D at all. Would be helpful

Awesome. Learning about the light tool is definitely going to save me time moving forward. Thanks for sharing.

MAN I wish you could include and exclude specific objects from lights in Octane. Great tutorial! The lighting tool is a gamechanger
Thanks for watching!
But of course you can. Search for tutorials.
@@Teheiron yeah, I mean….you can now. But 2 years ago you couldn’t haha

Very nice! Thanks for this!
My pleasure! Glad you enjoyed it.
It's so powerful lighting kit! but u can change it's color? as it's used as a texture

This was a great tutorial, so many nice tricks in such a short amount of time. Thank you man!
Thanks for watching! Glad you liked it!
Why does the lighting tool create a new cinema 4d default light instead of using the highlighted one?
Fantastic tutorial btw!
Thanks;

Uncheck "Modify Lights Only" in the Lighting Tool attribute panel.
What is the redshift version number you are using, is that low version numbers cannot be associated with hdri link?

Amazing tutorial!!!

Can you put the Area Light Maps up for sell? without requiring C4D. I render in Blender.
Thats so cool, i wanna buy but will hdr link work when i submit job to google zync with arnold?
You would have to delete the HDRI LInk tag before submitting to Zync. Once you do that and collect your assets, it should work just fine.

Hello, is there a Chinese tutorial?
does this work with octane
Yes! HDRI Link Works the same way with ALL major renderers.
Sry for the dumb question. Are these area light maps work with Arnold too?
Yes. Scroll down and you will see the render engine(s) that are compatible. greyscalegorilla.com/downloads/hdri-area-light-maps/?
They work directly with HDRI Link, yep Arnold is supported 👍
Hi! How to use in Arnold? Thank you
if I don't have redshift, what light can I use as a substitute?
These light maps can be used with practically any modern renderer.

RS much better than Octane, when MAXON will integrate him into C4D?
I'd guess it will be a year or so before we see RS shipping with C4D 👍

No more Arnold :( sad day
I still very much love Arnold! In fact, this product includes some Arnold training! And many of the promo images were rendered with Arnold. :)
HI 可以email HDRI Link灯光预给我吗?Thanks very much~
I think its a real shame everyone uses Redshift now because of GSG only using it
I'm gonna use it because of overwatch :P
