I don't know how old Kansas City Rag is, but if it is older than Johnny Horton's "Battle of New Orleans" written by Jimmy Driftwood, then Johnny Driftwood "borrowed" from Kansas City Rag. Did anybody else think that?
Jimmy driftwood borrowed copies the melody from the tune 8th of January which is a much much older tune. This tune has a part which is similar to a small part of 8th of January
