A CHALLENGING HILL HEDGEHOPE IS 714 METRES AND REALLY STEEP FROM THE ROUTE I TOOK. ONCE UP THERE WAS NO WIND BUT IT WAS REALLY COLD, DEMONSTRATING THE WHISLUX LOARY 2 AND THE LIGHT TOUR SLEEP MAT. LARGE RECTANGULAR. A COLD NIGHT PROGRESSED WITH A FEW STARS APPEARING, BUT THE MOON AND CLOUD WASHED THEM OUT SO NO NIGHTLAPSE. ENJOYED IT. CHECK OUT MY VAN CHANNEL TO SEE MY WANDER AROUND THE COASTAL TOWNS. @andyscampervan-fj19
The firemaple cookset is available in early March. I’ll post links and discount code when it’s out. I’ll also keep using it as it’s really good. 👍

Great vid again Andy & sorry to hear about the loss of your mate...🙏 I'm liking the Whislux Loary tent & it's good that they're going to produce a solid inner for it, albeit it'll be warmer soon, so will probably just need the mesh inner to keep the midges out...!😄 I'd say foil side up on the bed, as I'm guessing that U'd possibly feel the cold from the air inside the mat more, if it was green side up...👍 I did my 1st Woodland camp of this year, on Monday night with my dog & was fortunate to wake up to a nice sunrise & a bright warm day on the Tuesday, so I just stayed there all day, listened to the birds cherping, cooked some food & then left before dark...👍 I've put it off several times due crap weather or illness, but really glad that I actually managed to get out this time, as we're back to more rain now...!😐Best wishes & look forward to the next vids...👊

Spot on Andy, I camped on hedgehope last year, and underestimated how tough it is to get up with a pack on 🤣, needs to be renamed..that’s no hill🤣, great set up mate. Looks like a canny sleep mat to test too. Views from the top are great👌, sorry to hear about the loss of your friend mate.

That looked like a cold one. On the subject of oil, get that rapeseed oil gone. It's not good for you. Stick with extra virgin olive oil, avocado oil and coconut oil. I've made the switch. I'm still fat like 😂

I concur. That is a beast to climb with camping kit. Bloody awful but so worth it. Think it's in my top 3 of places to wildcamp round here. If you're gonna test a tent you may as well test it in the cheviots 😅.
I myself put milk in before I take tea bag out. For the simple fact I like builders tea and need to see if it's dark enough with milk in 😂😂🖕🖕.

Silverside up or down? For me it is:
Extreme cold = silverside up, as it refelects your bodyheat back at you.
Milder conditions = silverside down, as the mat then retains some body heat through the night (the air pockets keep some heat).
However, everyone has their own opinions. Just my thoughts.

It was comfy. Dead easy to deflate. Practice rolling it. It was quiet too. So I’m going to use it more and I’ll give my full thoughts. It did well though. Better than my orange S2S 👍
