The CO2 emissions and fuel consumption of Duster TCe 100 are 18% lower than the SCe 115 that it replaces, ranking it at the top of its category in terms of petrol engines. Launched in France, the TCe 100 is available on the Access and Essentiel trim levels of Duster at prices that are as affordable as ever.

    TCe 100: a new-generation engine
Equipped with a timing belt, the new, indirect injection turbocharged 3-cylinder petrol engine is lighter and more compact. The TCe 100 features all the latest technologies, including a turbocharger with an electrically controlled waste gate, an exhaust manifold partially integrated into the cylinder head, twin variable valve timing for intake, and bore spray coating.
Duster TCe 100: more torque for an energetic drive
Mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox, the TCe 100 brings drivers even more versatility both in the city and out on the open road.
With 100 hp (74 kW) and 160 Nm of torque, it boasts greater energy efficiency and enhanced responsiveness thanks to the turbo. The new-generation powerplant provides optimum at-the-wheel pleasure through increased torque, available from the lowest engine speeds for livelier pick-up.

I see a lot of people reporting issues with this engine, but also a lot liking it.
My question is are the people that report issues, treating the engine with mechanical sympathy and respect?
I own a duster with this engine and its fantastic, it makes the odd few strange noises from the turbo however the dealership are happy its ok. I do the oil and filter every 5000 miles instead of the recommended 10.000 and it runs beautifully.

The turbo noise is just the beginning, no matter how you treat it, it will go bad.

This looks a great little engine.Vey compact and not that many parts .If it runs on LPG even better. The valves must be able to cope with LPG.

My own car is Clio 1.0 Tce Xtronic. High fuel consumption, uncontrollable jerky engine, Low hp and poor torque = 1.0 Tce. Dead gas peddal response, never think overtaking front car, +1 or 2 liter more consumption = Xtronic! If you want to understand me, please look at the TSI and Ecoboost engines and transmissions!

The prototype Small dacia engines have been tested to over 800000kms in the factory bench loom test with no problems so they are pretty good.
That figure has been quoted in the dacia website and they have 100000km warrant to back it up.
