Some players have spoken about how Lou finally simplified the defense these last two weeks. It was obvious the players couldn't handle Lou's super complex scheme, that's why we had so many miscommunications the last two years. Idk the reason why Lou finally stopped trying to run every type of defense but it has helped. Also Lou has a massive say in the players they draft on defense. Lou's hands are dirty in this too

It's not all on the bengals defense. This team has so many issues to fix, but we need to start with correcting the most glaring weakness. The eye test on this defense is soooo bad, it's getting better but the damage done. The Offense has made mistakes of course but this defense failed constantly in moments where a team needs to rise in big moments. This team should have a better record and still be a weak team due to very disappointing defense. The eye test shows a defense that plays on thier heals with low low confidence in big moments. Not even a team that might make mistakes because they are taking chances. A team that looks scared and defeated plays it safe and still gets burned or can't even make tackles. Soooo sad tik tok tik tok fix it. Fire the FO please but that's not gonna happen. LOU gots to go and whoever they bring in and the front office better be on the same page. Worst case scenario is cincii squeezes out a few wins at the end of the year and no corrective measures are made. When the ravens / steelers and browns are always making big off season moves you better believe we better match that energy to compete. Go all in let the chips fall. Take a chance, Columbus did. Tobin and front office ARE THE PROBLEM!!! They walked into this season with rookies and crap FA choices. Everyone was screaming for CBs, DTs, and no one had confidence that Hubbard would comeback from injury. Lou has made oatmeal out of crap this year and people are saying he should be fired? If I’m looking to upgrade any coaches it’s the offensive and defensive line coaches. Who Dey!
This is the problem in general with the overall media and peanut gallery's spur of the moment takes.....fire the coach, fire the coach when they not the problem. I've not once said they are not copeable, because they definitely need to coach more aggressively and consistently instead of coaching not to lose, but our front office has repeatedly let them down, Lou more so than Zac, by not giving them better than mediocre talent across the board. Once we recognized that we had our main guys, the front office should've went all in! We went to the Superbowl with a bottom 5 Oline. We let really good talent go for the sake of money, and surrended our generational talent with mid players while our comp all actively get better. That's not the coaches fault.
No he doesn’t Lou can’t develop players and has had numerous top picks. He had no plan on how even use Dax hill. You have to be able to work with young guys and Lou just can’t. Plus look at Lou’s defensive team rankings his whole career here the defense has never been above the middle of the pack and that was with bates and reader Lou just got his d to perform better in the playoffs but the reg seasons have been nothing special
Lou is not an elite defensive coordinator lets be honest, he is ok! His bend but don't break scheme worked in the past because we had pro bowl level players like Jessie Bates, Dj Reader and Tre Hendrickson to make timely plays. But in terms of his scheme, it's overrated. He needs to go because fundamentally the players are missing too many tackles, they are out of position way too often, there's no leadership on the defense, Logan Wilson should be the captain not jermaine Pratt and the secondary his playing with bad technique half the time. If we had a better defensive coordinator some of these issues can be fixed!! Time for a change!!
