I love Chris Stapleton especially his live shows with him and his wife Morgane as his backup singer and the eye contact they have he gets anxiety so she sings with him to help his anxiety if she's not on the stage with him she's backstage actually he even said she is the reason why he started singing in the first place she thought his voice was beautiful so she helped him get on the stage and it went from there another good song is fire away it's about mental health and he is the bar tender in the music video

He’s a country artist but this song is blues. The chord progressions, the time signature, his singing style, it’s blues.

SOOOooooo glad to see you'd reacted to him. I love that he is so steeped in soul music in general and the blues in particular, and you can feel and hear it in everything he does. I haven't yet checked, but if you haven't heard it a million times in the comments, always go for the live version-- the singing is just as great (you may be shocked at how true this is), and it's much more exciting when you can see him and his band and Morgane, plus he often adds amazing guitar extras and adds vocal ad libs (can't think of the right word for it right now, but you know what I mean).
I hope you will get around to reacting to these some time-- I can promise you won't regret it-- he shows a whole different side of himself in each:

I was crying when I first heard this song … I think he is talking to he’s wife .. it’s so painful and smooth with mix with gospel in there..never heard a white man singing like this , im married to a white person and I always called him an old fashion country person ..
