Hmm… I know this was made by former WC/SC devs but watching this all I feel is “Why not just play StarCraft II”? That being said, I would love to see Turin playing some StarCraft II
Always interesting to see new games
Something about the art and UI is so...odd. It's like it's trying to look "old" but is also strangely high res looking too and the overall effect is not appealing, imo at least. This doesn't compare at all with AoE 4 as far as more classic RTS games go. Idk, I watched the AoE4 games for a LONG time before I finally got it myself and enjoyed them a ton, I'm not even sure what I'm looking at here.
This is a mixture of StarCraft and Warcraft, though at least the 1v1 mode plays closer to StarCraft. There is still a ton missing so far, (Tier 3, polish, tons of place holders, and the 3rd faction) but I must admit it is fun to play

I'm kind of divided on my impressions. I hope Stormgate will be a homerun, but it looks a lot like Warcraft 3. I was hoping the devs would have built on Starcraft II and then taken things into a new direction. Will have to see how this evolves.

Graphics don't matter that much. You don't have to use modern graphics to have a good game.
@@garretth8224 it’s not even modern graphics. It’s bad. No original art style or impressive in any way. Graphics matter when you’re trying to sell a product.

So refreshing to see a mild tweak to an old genre that’s not a remake. I just hope it gets some story mode to be overpowered in.

Guys this is very early in development. They recently put out the Kickstarter. Also devs are actually used to work in the Starcraft 2 and Warcraft. So this is very early access .
Honestly, I don't find anything redeeming about this game; the camera sucks, the UI sucks, sound design and art suck, unit design, buildings, and eco are all barebones basic and ripped right from SC2. On the other hand unit control alternates between too fluid and not fluid enough so it's the worst of both worlds - I don't have much faith that they're going to find a way to fix this either since it needs to be completely redone from the ground up.
It’s like the devs listened solely to SC I & II players and are creating something like it….
I’m convinced CoH is an evolution of the RTS genre and for me it replaced all StarCraft type games

Ugh I really tried to get excited for this game but I can't. It's like starcraft, just worse and more clunky. Literally 0 originality.
Real mad I dropped $$ on this too. My first game I was like "uhhh, what the fuck"
Not a big fan of esthetics, tbh. Terrans in SC2 felt grounded and gritty, these humans look… pokemony?

@@blacklocus5347 problem is they shouldn't resemble terrans at all. Why create 2nd RTS game with units functioning exact same way, when we already have SC2 that's polished to perfection
Yup, everything about the demo right now seems "like starcraft but worse". The gameplay seems really slow, too. Why bother?
