Wonderful video I've got arc 4 today but you explained what I needed to know. Great instructor with no added drivel It's awesome Thanks🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
As far as tutorial videos go, this is one of the few that contains useful information from beginning to end. No need to skip ahead. Just the perfect pace, presentation and information! Bravo! Thank You Audio Sorcerer! Excellent Video!
Great tutorial, thanks for showing off it's capabilities. It seems it's made specifically for studio mixing. I was hoping to use this in a larger band practice rehearsal space but the options for room size were rather small.
I'm glad you enjoyed the video! Yeah, it's definitely meant more for a studio. For live tuning I use Smaart. www.rationalacoustics.com/products/smaart-suite-v9-perpetual
Thank you for the review. I have ARC 2.5 with that mems mic. I'm debating if it's worth the upgrade to ARC 3 and it looks like it's completely reworked so hopefully should be worth it
When you are calibrating the 21 mic moves, are u standing next to the mic or u get out the way/leave out the room so u won't interfere with the calibration for each of the 21 tests?
Hi just got this plugin but a bit confused about trim levels. Obviously when I by pass the plugin it's so much louder for bouncing . How should I use it ? The trim applied is much quieter than what I'm used to when moxing. Thanks in advance 🙏
I believe the files are just stored under the IK Multimedia - ARC3 section under "My Documents". I just got a new computer and don't have the software installed, so I can't check unfortunately.
I don’t understand the hardware - the microphone made sense but how was the software able to correct the signal to the amplifier ? There must be more hardware than was shown in this video? I don’t Have a studio but I do want to check & if necessary correct my hi fi for the room. I have a traditional CD player plugged into an integrated stereo amplifier. I can put a graphic equaliser in between the pre amp and power amp but that is manually driven not software and microphone driven. Can the ArC system be used to correct my stereo? How does this correct the sound on a hi fi at home? Is there a box that takes in the signal out of the pre amp & “equalises it” on the way to the power amp? What hardware do I need so I can correct the sound in my living room
Hey Douglas, unfortunately there's no way to do that accurately. The only way to hear the difference is if you were in my studio. Sending the corrected sound to the listener wouldn't match up with what they are listening on.
I’m confused , since IK Multimedia state that the measurements must be taken at 48kHZ only. Does this mean that I have to change all my Logic X Projects from 44.1 kHZ to 48kHZ ? I find that odd. Thanks for the video though, it is very detailed. My Arc 3 arrives tomorrow and I don’t understand that important part.Should I record in 48kHz now into Logic X ? Thanks for any guidance !
@@AudioSorcerer Why? I would think measurements should be as close to the real thing as possible. You being centre stage in front of your monitors surely counts to the error/correction
Hello! All in all, how much time would you say the tuning process took you? If you had done in before many times, how fast could it be? (Asking because I'm looking for a solution for a rather nomadic mixing routine)
You can use the Sonarworks mic for calibration. You can download the calibration file specific for your mic from Sonarworks and load it into ARC during the calibration process.

@@AudioSorcerer You're the best, thanks for sharing :D
Thank you for the great video, I just ordered one and will take your video as guide as well. Thank you
Let me know if you end up liking it! 🤘🤘🤘
@@AudioSorcerer sure, I'll let you know or maybe will ask few questions if I need. Still waiting for the arrival.
great video, will hopefully work great in my studio with the genelecs
Thanks so much, it's definitely a great product. 👍🤘
My dream monitors are Genelecs or Adams
Thank you very much, that's awesome, and great explanation...
Thanks so much! It's definitely a great product. 👍
thanks for the video! is it possible to export the processed EQ-Curve to an IR?
No problem! And, I don't believe that is possible.
Thanks man. I'm hooking it up now. Following ur vid
Nice! I hope you end up enjoying it as much as I do. 👍
You don't have to. That's up to you.
@@AudioSorcerer ok I need to get use to mixing with that thing on. I think it needs to be volume match?
@@audiolego It will take some getting used to. You may realize your old mixes sound off with it.

Yeah, I think the ARC 3 algorithm has also been improved. 👍🤘

I go off to the side but I don't leave the room.

When you are working with it on, just turn up the knob on your audio interface or monitor controller to get the listening level to your liking. 👍
@@AudioSorcerer ahh awesome thanks. 😅
Does the VST2 plug in have an option for installing 32bit and 64bit .dlls?
I have made some terrible profiles. How do I delete them? Thanks

Does it come with a desktop plugin that runs the process on your music players like iTunes or Spotify, as Sonarworks Reference system does?
It does not. It only works in a DAW.

What about an AB test at the end of the stoooory...so we can get some idea?

Just take your measurements in 48 khz. You can use the profile in any session format.

@@deesee2008 No problem and thanks for checking out the channel! 🤘🤘🤘

Did you leave your studio chair or sit in front of your monitors while doing it, or did you exit the space?
I went to the side of the room out of the audio path.

If you are doing it for the first time it might take an hour or so. Once you are used to it, I would say 15-20 minutes. 👍
@@AudioSorcerer Thanks for the reply!
Do you know how to stream thru arc 3? like spotify?
You need the new ARC Studio which doesn't required a plugin to be used. Check it out here: ruclips.net/video/NOJhHEN6bX8/видео.html
Can I use Umic-1 with arc 3?
You can only use the mic that comes with the Arc System 3 package or mics from prior versions.
@@AudioSorcerer what is Generic Mic?? I see this on screen.
@@BartekEVH Actually, it looks like you are right. You can use a generic microphone with it. I'm not sure how that works but I guess it's possible.
Do you insert the ARC3 as pre or post fader plugin?
Post fader
Great vid but dont you think you should take your measurement While sitting on your listening position cause your body Will change the room acoustic.
That's a valid point. Unfortunately, the microphone needs to go where my head is so I can't sit down lol.
Hi.If I want to do a Bounce In Place for a single instrument track, do I have to disable the ARC 3, since it is on the Output Stereo Bus ? Thanks
It depends on which daw you are using. I would say to be safe and disable it.
@@AudioSorcerer Thank you.I am really enjoying it.Thank you for your video too !
For export the music, you have to leave or remove plugin ?
You need to either bypass or remove the plugin when exporting.
@@AudioSorcerer thanks
once you calibrated can you run the software on the background Eg Spotify, youtube etc?
Unfortunately not. It's only for use inside a DAW as a plugin.
I was hoping it would be a constant process on all audio sources as well... perhaps in ARC4.
I hope they add this also. Maybe in 3.5 if we get lucky.
can I use sonarworks mic to calibrate this? Which one is better software what do you think?
I use the ARC 3 so I would have to go with that. I can't say yes or no if your Sonarworks mic would work with it.
You can use the Sonarworks mic for calibration. You can download the calibration file specific for your mic from Sonarworks and load it into ARC during the calibration process.
