    A sounds a bit muddy in the bass, but the vocals are more pleasing to my ears. B sounds a bit harsh. I guess I'm used to the sound of A.

    Hi, very interesting unit! I got some questions for the workflow with it: How do you switch between multiple monitors then? Even with a monitor controller, switching the monitors on with the box inbetween doesn’t switch the different captures of every pair of monitors which you saved. So you would have to load it / change it every time you switch monitors, when you want to have the correction of both simultaniously inside the plugin? Or can you use 2 boxes for two different monitors? would that work? When i listen to mixes i like to move fast back and forth between my speakers. That would be impossible with this using one arc box and one monitor controller right? Best regard

    • @Unders
      @Unders  4 месяца назад +2

      Yes pressing to switch back and forth forth with 1 box would lead to 1 pair being corrected incorrectly (that took me a sec) 2 boxes would be a solution sure.
      In a mix I’ve just got arc open in daw currently and can switch it’s pretty quick. Not instant. 2 boxes would be instant.
      Now with that said. On my teeny tiny monitors, I 1 don’t have them loud like ever. 2 because of that the treatment of the room etc helps lots more. 3 I tend to be referring to other mixes at that point too so the untreated as it were is just like testing on alt playback.
      Definitely not an everyone solution, yet.

    • @felixdorn21
      @felixdorn21 Месяц назад +1

      @@UndersI am not using the software mostly, but did two separate long calibrations and saved each on each box. The software recognizes the unit that is plugged in the usb. You can do all you want with the one that is plugged in the usb. The other one got the saved profile on it, which you can turn on or off with the button. I just let it do it’s thing and it works great with NS10 and Focal Twin 6s

    I own SonarworksID and I do love it and the headphones profiles I can get but.. this does not have the headphones which is not that big of a deal because I can use Sonorworks there but.... This is awesome ! Gave me a different perspective :)

    • @Unders
      @Unders  4 месяца назад +1

      Ive never really dived into the headphone modeling, Ive always kinda seen it as my headphones are isolated and not affected by the environment. I tried the NX options from waves (i actually did the launch) but still couldn't get into it.

    FYi. You can get a program called soundsource that will allow you to put a VST on your master audio for your computer. Once you get the room correction done you can put it in sound source and it will do the same thing that the hardware does for the ARC 4. I used ARC 3 and thats how I use it to listen to stuff in my room.

    • @Unders
      @Unders  4 месяца назад +1

      Help me out here, does it effectively run over the sound config of your OS (that's what it looks like) so assuming it can sync with your interface to switch bitrate etc its an option worth exploring for many,

    • @NVM_SMH
      @NVM_SMH Месяц назад

      That only works for output through a VST. This means all audio sources get the ARC adjustment. It's the reason I bought Genelec with GLM instead. This box, though means there is a cheaper alternative and you can use Subwoofer.

    I have a small home studio where I use Yamaha HS7 monitors WITH ROOM CONTROL (-2db). The question is: sould I off the room control function on HS7 when I measurement with ARC4?

    • @Unders

      You can leave as is, just remember thats how its been set up

  • @Lumosity83
    @Lumosity83 4 месяца назад +1

    Love the hardware box, only drawback is that you can't drive multiple speakers with it, for example the mains on monitor controller out 1 and mixcubes on output 2 of the monitor controller. This means a different hardware box for a different speaker system

    • @Unders

      Not at all. Look at my set up routed into my studio M. Open software and switch profile.
      Not a quick A/B I agree. But it never was with correction and multiple monitors.
      Other alternative could be having MTM as your second set 🤔

    how is the foam? is it working for acoustic treatment ?

    • @Unders
      @Unders  2 месяца назад +1

      So in here i have thick padding behind the desk, all the way down to dampen those reflections. Then some diffusion and foam pad on the reflection points left and right of me where the sound in theory hits after passing me. That it and that's plenty for this use (id recommend loads more if you want to record more than VO like i do hin here)

  • @JC-nu5io

    Would this stiil be better than nothing if used in an untreated space?

    • @Unders
      @Unders  3 месяца назад +1

      Kinda. But it won’t help with reflections really. If you keep it EXACTLY at the level you configured it at always. It will be better. But gain adjusted it will fall apart again. It’s why I said in the video that really some basic treatment is where I personally would start. But it then solves a lot of issue that costs way more beyond that.

    • @Unders
      @Unders  4 месяца назад +1

      In the manual there is a way to do a DFU on the unit. I’d start there. Also check the signal flow, because it’s right to left unlike every other unit ever.
