If you own a property it doesn't matter if you don't even visit at all, as long as you come to renew it every year or every 2 years (most times you get a 2 year permit).

Hey there, so for renting it's pretty straightforward. You sign a 1 year lease and pay deposit (1 month usually), 1 month agent fee (most apts are listed by agents), and 1st month rent. So upfront you should have 3 month's rent essentially. Some will ask for guarantor (kefil), which has to be a Turkish person. Some places may ask for 6 months rent or 1 years rent upfront, this happens usually in Istanbul or in meditteranean region for certain apartments or villas. Hope that helps!

What do you mean conceal? They are not telling you reason? Which city are you applying from? It could be a backlog, and sometimes it can take a while. You need to speak to the immigration officers inside, and if they can't help ask to see the supervising senior officer.

Actually now the business license is not the best way to move forward. The only ways are renting a property or buying property (leads to citizenship in 5 years)

Actually it automatically extends for another year. You can continue living there. They may only raise the price according to the set percentage announced by government each year. Please consult a lawyer regarding this if you have any doubt or issues with landlord.

There have been no changes at the moment. The changes have been put on hold due to COVID. The touristic residency permit was due to be cancelled in beginning of 2020 however due to COVID they put a hold on the cancellation and till now the hold continues.

Most landlords prefer at least a 1 year contract so it will require a bit more research before hand and you might have to pay little more than usual. If you have purchased a property then no issues, keep renewing no limits :) Otherwise via rental property, they will most likely reject any renewals or new applications.

Hi Shaf, sure np. If you're in a big city starting at 24k TL per year for a half decent 3+1 not in a compound. Compound with gym and pool you're looking at 36-60k TL.

Brother, renting an apartment is not a very promising approach these days, as they are rejecting most applications or giving 3-6 months at most. For long term permanent plans, best is to buy a small apartment.

Initially you can try to apply for 2 year ikamet via renting an apartment and see how it goes. But long term solution like I said is to buy property, no other way unfortunately.

Glad to hear you liked the video. The touristic residence permit varies depending on how busy the immigration office is in that city - if I were to give a rough number 2-3 months but can be longer. You should have a rental agreement (1 year) and you can do this from any city. Hope that helps!

I have the option of applying for an AIESEC Visa but my travel agent told me they might not grant me that visa since it shows I’ll be working and getting paid there ( a completely different field of work from my current one) . @@najmeealikhan2652 no you can't use it to travel there, and I doubt it makes much difference when getting visas. If you are a Turkish citizen it helps a lot more.
At the moment yes, but being more stingy on the number of months. Someone applies for a year and gets 10 months for example. As the pandemic situation gets cleared up touristic residence permit may be stopped completely as they announced in Jan 2020.
It varies on the city, Istanbul is really backed up and a huge city so it might take a couple months. In other cities it can be as fast as a week, to an average of 3-4 weeks.

Not possible. You would have to live in Turkey full time and go out on holiday when needed

If the apartment is large enough to house the three of you, then one is enough. Also all your names should be on lease. Hope that helps!

What do you mean conceal? They are not telling you reason? Which city are you applying from? It could be a backlog, and sometimes it can take a while. You need to speak to the immigration officers inside, and if they can't help ask to see the supervising senior officer.

Actually it automatically extends for another year. You can continue living there. They may only raise the price according to the set percentage announced by government each year.

There have been no changes at the moment. The changes have been put on hold due to COVID. The touristic residency permit was due to be cancelled in beginning of 2020 however due to COVID they put a hold on the cancellation and till now the hold continues.

Congrats on your university exchange trip to Istanbul! Most landlords prefer at least a 1 year contract so it will require a bit more research before hand and you might have to pay little more than usual.

If you are flat sharing then bills are split among everyone. If you are renting the whole apartment then you pay for water, electricity, heating (gas), and WiFI.

If you have purchased a property then no issues, keep renewing no limits :)
Otherwise via rental property, they will most likely reject any renewals or new applications.

Brother, renting an apartment is not a very promising approach these days, as they are rejecting most applications or giving 3-6 months at most. For long term permanent plans, best is to buy a small apartment.

Initially you can try to apply for 2 year ikamet via renting an apartment and see how it goes. But long term solution like I said is to buy property, no other way unfortunately.

The touristic residence permit varies depending on how busy the immigration office is in that city - if I were to give a rough number 2-3 months but can be longer.
You should have a rental agreement (1 year) and you can do this from any city. Hope that helps!

Hi. I have a question. I would like to go to Turkey on an Aiesec internship. I have the invitation letters already. I have the option of applying for an AIESEC Visa but my travel agent told me they might not grant me that visa since it shows I’ll be working and getting paid there ( a completely different field of work from my current one) .
