Well, almost all parts can provide lift. It’s just that this one is 2 empty fuel tanks with a huge empty volume. You can emulate this by firing up an emptied version of this craft and pressing f12 attempt to manouver it. The blue lines are your “lift” generated.
For those of you complaining that he copied hazard-ish, read what stratzen wrote on his reddit post: "Not entirely. There are some things I did differently that made a big difference in terms of efficiency. For example, my craft may be similar in terms of the types of parts, but the way those parts are arranged make a BIG difference. For example, I used the MK1-3 command pod. This command pod doubles as a nosecone, which makes my craft much more streamlined than hazard-ish's. As a result, I can take a more efficient launch profile. Hazardish used 3543 m/s to reach orbit: I used only 3117 m/s. The mun gravity assist and the eve ejection burn also gave me big savings. For one, the mun gravity assist reduced the ejection burn by 100 m/s, and my launch window allowed me to insert into eve orbit for 60% less than hazardish. Then, there is the Eve->Eve gravity assist. This gravist assist allowed me to align my apoapsis with gilly so that the insertion into gilly orbit would be very cheap. Overall, I saved almost 1 km/s of delta v over hazard-ish flight plan. Considering that the mission is in the 5-6 km/s range, that is a massive improvement. AND that is taking into account the fuel I used to land the booster. Had I not decided to make this reusable, the improvement would be some 400 m/s larger. One more thing: Had hazardish used this flight plan, he would not have needed to stage the top tank."
My favorite part was the fuel gagues all reading 0 right at the end. Liquid fuel 0.0 Oxidizer 0.0 Monopropellant 0.0 Electric Charge 0.0 Happy kerbals: 3
It’s just a twin boar and one of those large Saturn 5 type tanks (from the stock game not the DLC or mods) and a MK 1-3 command pod. However since I use 1.2.2 I used the older MK 1-2.
Hazard-ish was not the first one to do the 3 part thing. If you check the description on Hazard-iss video you can clearly see he got the idea from someone else.
Scott many did a 3 part to Minmus video in May 2014. ruclips.net/video/nb07gxjLq_k/видео.html . And a 3 part grand tour (but that used pre-placed refueling ships so was very different.
The word ya'll are looking for is "rivalry". If Hazard and stratz end up in a game of out doing each other, the viewers are the ones who ultimately win. :)
*Sees title* I can get to Gilly with my ship broken into 3 parts! *Sees first minute* Oh, I see... That is impresive! *Sees end of video* ALL HAIL THE MIGHTY STRATZENBLITZ!
when i finally land on the moon, this deflates my ego. You launch from KSC, fly around to Gilly, land, do epic jumps, fly back, and land on a tiny Helipad!
With the exception of the Helios MK 4, I find myself more impressed by your flight planning than your construction. The fuel efficiency, the insanely close flybys, it's art in motion.
Nobody said anything about having to return, an Eve landing is probably possible. Launching from the highest mountain on Kerbin high altitude ion planes have enough specific impulse and thrust to do stuff, but nobody has gotten all the way to space (or orbit) yet. With a big enough computer at least getting to Eve is probably possible. If you allow stock props and catapults, definitely.
The boys are BACK!! ... need m0ar from my fave RUclipsrs... love watching!! ...Matt Lowne and Scott Manley - you are NEXT!!! * can't wait * EDIT: Now we need Danny2462 to destroy Gilly!!
OK, I'm a Hazard-ish fanboy, but credit where it's due: This was astounding. You definitely upped him here, I look forward to seeing his response to this.
Towards the end of your videos I'm always thinking "wow that was awesome, guess he's not returning this time"......then my face explodes.....you are the best...im not worthy.
To anyone telling this is a copy video: The Twin-Boar+Kerbodyne Tank is not a new concept afaik. Its the most efficient 3 part design. Since the engine and fuel tank are combined.
Hi! I'm the guy who sent u my minimalist Eeloo mission screenshots on Discord. Honestly, this was the best 1-up of any KSP RUclipsr I've ever seen. Lol
You know what blows my mind? The fact that we have the technology to toss a thing into space and have it calculated just right so it ends up on a tiny rock moving incredibly fast around the sun. And then get that same thing to fly itself back to earth and land on a tiny square. Fuckin wild.
since it is called the mod of the realistic effects as that of the re-entry or that of the fires of the engines (not as it is said to him)and that of the scenes as of the movies
Stratz is 1-upping Hazard-ish (you go to the Gilly with this design ? not bad. now hold my beer. *do the same thing with a perfect suicide burn on top of the space center, take back is beer* )
One thing i think you should try: Maybe attatch the pod upside down to the tank, then rotate it so that the heatshield node is facing down? Will this decrease drag, or will a downwind 2.5m node be worse than an upwind 1.25m one?
Why are people mad that he ""copied Hazardish"" like the twin boar + kerbodyne + pod combo is a new thing at all lmao
Matt Lowne people are mad that [you?] "copied" 3-parts concept?! Don't worry! Just remove one part!!! ( A 2 parts rocket, that's called math )
3 Part challenges are as old as ksp...
well making a rocket whit 3 parts is easy flying it is the another new level there is no reason to people be mad.Love ya matt
That’s Life. Just like kim kardashian. It’s horrible but just life.
Exactly. This design is super old in ksp.
4:30 is he doing it again?
4:35 haha! he won't land even close to ksc
4:38 confusion intensifies
4:40 no way
4:48 ...
Same
Same
I had no idea the 2.5m parts were lifting body surfaces.
Well, almost all parts can provide lift. It’s just that this one is 2 empty fuel tanks with a huge empty volume. You can emulate this by firing up an emptied version of this craft and pressing f12 attempt to manouver it. The blue lines are your “lift” generated.
LIFTING BODY EFFECT BABYYYYYYYYY
RIP. Seriously though, this is extremely impressive and proves that I clearly have a lot to learn! :)
next is to eloo in 3 parts then you'd win
☐ Not rekt
☑ Rekt
Gotta get that helipad landing ;)
Eamon Kerney that's LITERALLY impossible!
Charles 7 Prove it...
I thought god had more important things to do than play KSP
Oliver
Hahaha
😂😂
Yes. Play KSP, record it an then upload it here. :D
Hazard-ish and Stratzenblitz - A 3-part-war
Now in Kindl-Store
This is a very smart use of built-in monoprop in the MK1-3 pod.
He used all of it.
For those of you complaining that he copied hazard-ish, read what stratzen wrote on his reddit post:

Liquid fuel 0.0
Oxidizer 0.0
Monopropellant 0.0
Electric Charge 0.0
Happy kerbals: 3
*dead kerbals
No food or water in that pod for a trip to gilly and back
Steffanie Lundy Kerbals use photosynthesis.
How did he use up the monopropellant? It was full at the beginning and there were no added RCS ports?
@@skylerlehmkuhl135 capsule has built-in RCS for roll control.
@@MrMattumbo also attitude control
I can't manage to exactly rebuild your craft, please provide a craft file.
It’s just a twin boar and one of those large Saturn 5 type tanks (from the stock game not the DLC or mods) and a MK 1-3 command pod. However since I use 1.2.2 I used the older MK 1-2.
Kaoru Ohta woooosh
lol
Really? I don't believe the Mk1-2 pod would really work, as it is way heavier than the 1-3.
the craft is just so complex
Really hope you do a speedbuild! I cant wait to learn how to build this ultra efficient and innovative rocket for myself!! :D :D :D
PlasmaYT its 3 parts
Reactive Xenon it’s a joke
@ve7748 5 years ago and people still couldnt understand jokes how sad.
Player 2 has joined the game.
Nobody talking bout the fact he used the lifting surface of the pod to land on the VAB?
Why? "Flying" lifting bodies is a pretty common skill I thought.
Its not plagarism its 1upping
True
Hazard-ish: I can get to Gilly with 3 parts
Stratenblitz: *Hold my beer*
also Stratz: ILL GET ALL THREE PARTS BACK!
Hazard-ish was not the first one to do the 3 part thing. If you check the description on Hazard-iss video you can clearly see he got the idea from someone else.
Matthew Karr - KSP: To the Mun and Back Using Only 3 Parts. Uploaded in June 2014.
Scott many did a 3 part to Minmus video in May 2014. ruclips.net/video/nb07gxjLq_k/видео.html . And a 3 part grand tour (but that used pre-placed refueling ships so was very different.
I disagree. 3 part mission to the Mun is far more impressive due to gravity and higher delta V requirements.
Three floating kerbals T-posing next to a three part rocket on gilly… KSP at it's finest
The word ya'll are looking for is "rivalry". If Hazard and stratz end up in a game of out doing each other, the viewers are the ones who ultimately win. :)
Competition is good
As long as they don't constantly do the same mission, I like a bit of variation.
Edit: And the rivalry doesn't become to intense..
*Sees title*
I can get to Gilly with my ship broken into 3 parts!
*Sees first minute*
Oh, I see... That is impresive!
*Sees end of video*
ALL HAIL THE MIGHTY STRATZENBLITZ!
FINALLY! I found a sound track before it was on here. I'm happy with that.
Oh! This was on the edge of blade! I need thousands parts to do same!
Your move, Hazardish!
Nice to see my two favorite KSP RUclipsrs competing with one another, but each one still in their own style :p
Jonny Nik he landed again on the god damn vab
3:05 y’all mind if I T-Pose
when i finally land on the moon, this deflates my ego. You launch from KSC, fly around to Gilly, land, do epic jumps, fly back, and land on a tiny Helipad!
I thought I was watching Hazard-ish until I heard the outro music.
I'm just here to see pure awesomeness.
With the exception of the Helios MK 4, I find myself more impressed by your flight planning than your construction. The fuel efficiency, the insanely close flybys, it's art in motion.
Now do an Eve landing using only Ion Engines.
Landing and return was implied, no one says "the Apollo Moon Landings and Returns."
I see you havent seen Stratz' video about getting to Duna only using electric power.
Well we could launch a small drone to eve with ion engines but it wouldnt be able to return
Well he *could* do a return mission from Eve if he used props, however I don't know if that breaks the caviot of *only* ion engines
The boys are BACK!! ... need m0ar from my fave RUclipsrs... love watching!! ...Matt Lowne and Scott Manley - you are NEXT!!! * can't wait *
EDIT: Now we need Danny2462 to destroy Gilly!!
*Hazardish is not reusable*
Stratenblitz: holdup lemme do this right
I like the mk1-3 command pod
Boi Hazardish got put in check. keep up the fantastic work.
eeloo infinity hype

4:55 that’s what you call a pro gamer move
Something I've never mentioned over these years, but thank you Stratz for introducing me to dolly zoom
Landing on the VAB was just a flex i swear
This is quite possibly the most amazing Kerbal feat I've even seen!!!!!!! Just, wow
Clearly the Kerbol system no longer poses any challenge to the mighty Stratzenblitz. Perhaps more distant stars will prove worthy adversaries.
This is freaking amazing. How is such a thing even possible?
You: Ends with 0.00 of anything left Me: Won't accept to go anywhere out of Kerbin's SOI with less than 2km/s extra Delta V
To anyone telling this is a copy video: The Twin-Boar+Kerbodyne Tank is not a new concept afaik. Its the most efficient 3 part design. Since the engine and fuel tank are combined.
Man! these two are pros! (hazard-ish and you)
Is this how WW3 will start?
Hi! I'm the guy who sent u my minimalist Eeloo mission screenshots on Discord.
Honestly, this was the best 1-up of any KSP RUclipsr I've ever seen. Lol
Which is better?
Hazard-ish lithostaging
or
Stratenblitz75 perfect suicide burn
You never cease to amaze me!
Omg the perfect 0 margin, i never thought I'd see it anywhere
Two words: Holy S**t
Hazard-ish: I went to Gilly on three parts!
Stratenblitz: hold my beer
This kind of flying is just absurd... your flight plan and piloting is great.
You know what blows my mind? The fact that we have the technology to toss a thing into space and have it calculated just right so it ends up on a tiny rock moving incredibly fast around the sun. And then get that same thing to fly itself back to earth and land on a tiny square. Fuckin wild.
THIS IS THE MOST AMAZING THING I HAVE EVER SEEN EVER
i love your video style it is the best ksp design i have ever seen
Woah, woah. Landing on the VAB? You just made excessive style a thing! 😉
since it is called the mod of the realistic effects as that of the re-entry or that of the fires of the engines (not as it is said to him)and that of the scenes as of the movies

Im not sorry

That was a very nice Vertigo effect you had there at 0:23!
4:46 the absolute madlad...

"makes complicated rocket that can't make it to minmus* you: 3 PARTS TO GILLY!!!!

okay but this music is a certified banger
Hands down.. Even better than Hazard-ish's 3 Parts
Wow. Wow. Wow.
EXACTLY the right amount of fuel???? Wow.
Basically its an SSTO
Rip Hazard-ish
Martijn Cox ?
Stratz is 1-upping Hazard-ish (you go to the Gilly with this design ? not bad. now hold my beer. *do the same thing with a perfect suicide burn on top of the space center, take back is beer* )
F
I see Twin Boars mostly only used for these "3-part count" challenges
The ending. Godlike.
Dangggg... Hazardish need to get his act together. Using a non-areodynamic pod... Sad.
Absolute mad lad
He made me nervously laugh when he did the suicide burn...
That landing...man you are mad
I think Gilly is a giant meatball orbiting around an Haribo. MacDonalds will buy this rocket to steal Gilly and put it in Galactus BigMac. I think.
You're a wizard, Strarry.
Dude this is terrifying. How do people even get this good?!?!
holy shit that ending was pure gold
Gravity assist is just pure black magic :0
One thing i think you should try: Maybe attatch the pod upside down to the tank, then rotate it so that the heatshield node is facing down? Will this decrease drag, or will a downwind 2.5m node be worse than an upwind 1.25m one?
kerbals walking out to the new craft like "what the hell is this??"
This mission is the best mission of the world
holy mother of the deep space kraken
1:19 Literally 2 feet away from destruction. (slow it down or you'll miss it)
That was a very nice speedbuild :D
Me: 250+ parts, losing 99% of them; This guy: 3 parts, recovering every penny.
Unusual sight seeing stratzenblitz build something not Uber laggy on my cputer
Had a heart attack at 2:38
