The purpose of my channel is to document my cancer journey to look back on, and/or help anyone else going through anything similar. It is also to potentially help loved ones supporting those who are in this fight as well. My main goal is to have footage of this journey for my husband and children to look back on. I originally created this channel as a sort of video diary for my family.
Thank you so much for following along on this journey. Your love and support help me so much.

I am a palliative care nurse. The right medication in the right dose will control your symptoms with minimal side effects. They definitely work and they work well. I have taken care of countless patients with severe pain who have been able to control the pain and enjoy their life. I can understand reluctance but the right team will help you. Prayers to you.

The tech said that it sometimes happens after so much in a short time. I went back 2 days later & was fine. Jen you are strong & brave, praying for you & fam! Warrior princess

Stage 4 colon cancer here. I’m so sorry you are going through this. I always say I do not know how we are not running down the street screaming at all times managing this diagnosis.
For me it’s the lack of a next step that begins the waves of terror. We must have hope to continue to push forward and when that is taken from us it is terrifying.
For me I have created a system that allows me to sit in these feelings, because my God how could we not have these feelings - but I create safety nets so I don’t get stuck in them. Your husband appears to be a very strong safety line as is my wife. I carve out time in my day to have conversations with my cancer and time for me to process any and all things cancer. Outside of those allotted times I repeatedly tell myself “not now we’ll chat at our coffee chat”. It helps me to address the terror, allow it to move through me and hopefully find a little peace in the day.
As for the pain I have gone a different route-I utilize RSO marijuana - OXY or morphine makes me feel gross and I don’t like where my mind is on it. The RSO dulls my pain, helps me to manage my anxiety and I put all my weight back on that cancer took for me.
    Big hugs my friend. ❤️💪🏻🌈

I have never had cancer but I am 75 year old, a disabled surgical nurse with a 35 year history of chronic pain. Since age 40 I have had 7 back & neck surgeries due to degenerative disc disease which has caused me to have pain in varying degrees from very annoying to extremely painful. I was not a pill taker prior to this but I have learned that I need to do whatever it takes in order to enjoy my life. So I take prescribed pain meds when needed and sometimes it helps but not always. Jenny, you should just do what you have to so that you can be the mom, wife and woman that you are. If that means taking pain pills when you have pain, so be it. Take care of you! I love hearing about you and your beautiful family. Sending healing prayers to you and looking forward to seeing you again soon.

I feel you hon. I have been suffering from panic attacks for the past 5 years. It’s debilitating and a monster that takes over your life. I called ambulances went to the ER countless times. Unfortunately I turned out yo be severely allergic to regular psych meds that they prescribe. The only one I can take is Ativan. Not supposed to be used as a long term medication but I literally have nothing else that I could take. Therapy hasn’t helped, nothing other than Ativan and since you don’t want to be “ out” constantly I have to carefully dose it and still experience severe anxiety. I miss my old life, the old me.

Yes, I understand, I also have anxiety disorder and have had panic attacks, not as frequently as yours, but they are terrifying. I now take Citalopram daily, it is often prescribed for depression, which thankfully I don’t have, but it is helped greatly with the anxiety. I also have low dose Xanax on hand if it should get bad. Meds do help, better than just making yourself suffer.

Hannah sorry you have such bad panic attacks, I have had them for years and my doctor put me on trazadone, it really has helped, but I know most people don't like taking prescription drugs with the side effects they cause. My blood pressure was spiking the 170 mark during panic attacks, another natural trick is to run your wrists under cold water and splash cold water on your face, try and distract yourself with something. I like you ended up in casualty at my local hospital with an attack, I thought I was having a stroke as had never experienced the feeling before. I get the odd one now but know how to nip it in the bud quickly.

@@leylag1466 I understand completely! Ativan is also the only medicine that helps me as well I’ve been through dozens. It does leave you a shell of your old self and sometimes I just cry because like you said you miss your old self! It really does take over your life and it is so isolating. People do not understand what you mean unless they have been through it. Unfortunately there is very little understanding/treatment because people who suffer from them tend to suffer in silence for fear of being misunderstood or embarrassed. Anxiety medications only exasperated the issue and really need to be mindfully taken in moderation. Hi Jenny, I’m from New Zealand. My sister had a rare form of lung cancer non small cell adenocarcinoma with (ALK) positive. She also had brain Mets and had three of the four she had at the time dealt with surgically and the other one which couldn’t be removed had radiation. She couldn’t take chemo for her type of cancer. She was on a targeted therapy. Firstly alecnabib then after the brain Mets was changed to loratnibib. She had pretty much all the symptoms that you have described. She loved a good massage but it is NOT recommended for patients of lung cancer as this can help to spread the cancer. My daughter is a beauty therapist and is not allowed to do any massage on people with. Certain types of cancer, lung being one of them.. I love watching your videos and Thankyou for sharing your story with us. Your family are utterly adorable. And your hubby is such an amazing bloke. You guys are just a lovely sweet family. My sister took morphine for pain. Some days better than others. Everyone’s cancer journey is their own personal story. 🦋🦋🦋🦋

Panic attacks can be awful, but Kyle seems like the best person to have around if you're having one. I understand where you're coming from with the pain med issue. I'm stage 4 metastatic breast cancer, and I am very cautious when it comes to taking pain meds. This is mainly because I feel like if I can't feel the pain, I may be missing a new symptom or a current symptom getting worse. I was only diagnosed in August of this year and I definitely don't know what I should be doing or feeling yet. I am very thankful for your video's though, they give more hope than you may realize. ❤

Hi Jenny, Love you lots. I was an RN for 42 years. Many years in Oncology and also in hospice. I have multiple myeloma, with many fractured bones throughout. I was wondering when you would bring up the subject of pain. I hate to sound critical of my old profession. But much is to be desired when it comes to pain management. No way would we leave our patients suffer. Patients are treated as potential addicts, or become drug dealers ourselves. There is a big difference between drug dependency and drug addiction. The side effects can be handled, and usually subside after few days, once the body becomes use to the drug. Doses are started slowly and carefully titrated up to get above the pain. Once that is accomplished , something is ordered for break thru pain. Please connect with a good pain management team. I k ow there is alot more info and new meds and treatments on this matter , but being 77 years young , I have been reading alot about patients with all kinds of problems, and many many bring up their pain. Years ago there was a push to blame the drug problem on patients. Along came the government with many rules for the doctors re pain management.
So the patients have gotten the wrong end. Do speak up and let your needs be known. The quality of life greatly improves when pain is well managed. Thank you for sharing this video. I have been troubled with this issue for a long time. And you have given me a chance to finally speak up. Keep up your good work. God bless you and your family. Love, Peace, and Joy. Claudia

Loves and hugs from a stranger but fellow mother and person who cares. You can do it - all you need to do and accept or not accept and fight. I know because you are clearly a loving person who cherishes the moments with your loved ones and so generously shares yourself and your love with them and us and so many others. That’s the ultimate best goal in any situation in life, I think. Virtually all of us are going to go through terrible, painful, scary, and seemingly unbearable experiences at some point and often many points in our lives. But so many of us cannot find a way to go through it with so much love and generosity as you do. I think it’s your superpower. This life is so hard sometimes when we come up against things that are awful and that we can’t fully control. But you show us all how we can deal with those times with love and generosity and grace. Thank you. I wish all the best and healing and long and wonderful lives for you and all your loved ones.

Hi!!! I'm 61yrs old and I've had panic attacks since my 20's. I also have a lot of health problems that cause bad pain. I've come to realize, that there's no reason to let ourselves suffer if there's help available..... whether it's pain, anxiety, depression, etc....For so long, I felt like I had to suffer so people would see that I'm so strong and brave. Finally, I realized that it didn't matter what they felt because at the end of the day, they hadn't been the one that had been suffering so much that day. Long story short....I experienced and learned, that only I knew what I needed and what works for me and that all my pain and suffering was not gonna make me Wonder Woman. 🍎Jenny Apple, you're awesome!! You have (at least) a bazillion people cheering you on!!

I know panic attacks are horrible, been there too, BUT you got this!!! The mind is a powerful thing so it's ok to give yourself time to relax and get overt it on your own terms and what works for you....... Sending you prayers and hugs❣️🕯️🙏..........I don't like taking pain medication either, but sometimes it's worse if you try to deal with the pain cold turkey, your blood pressure can go up because of the pain and even your heart rate can beat too fast. Taking it as directed without over medicating, is definitely the way to go, you don't want to add more stress to your body as it is.🌹

  • @Fiona-sg9wh
    @Fiona-sg9wh Год назад

I hear you about pain medications. Once you start they are hard to stop. Your body gets used to having a medication to stop the pain that it gets lazy and stops producing dopamine. In order to get the same relief that your body used to do you will now need pain medication to do the job. They also cause constipation and they cause your vascular system to clamp down. I have had my experience on and off narcotics for pain. While it is very hard for me to deal with my pain at times without medications, it was still worth it to stop them. Now i pull into myself with meditation to help deal with the pain. It is exhausting to be in pain. There is no right or wrong answer. You have to do what works for you and gives you the best llife can offer. Just wanted to share my experience with pain medication. Sending you love. You are such a beautiful woman inside and out. Love your personality and what you share with us. You have a beautiful family.

I also suffer from panic attacks and it's the most out of control feeling, ever. I've learned to work at focusing on something else and that helps. Along with a good back rub from my husband 🥰. I'm glad Kyle is taking such good care of you 💞 As for pain meds (I've also had cancer), they're good to keep on hand and just use them on particularly bad days. Also, combining the tylenol with ibuprofen works better than either one alone. I wish you all the best!

A thought that helps me when I need to take pain medication is thinking about the toll pain takes on your body and nervous system in having to manage that pain. That can be more damaging than taking pain medication as prescribed. And your body is already under stress going through cancer. I think you might be doing yourself a favor by taking it and allowing your body to use the energy pain would take and use it for fighting the cancer. Most doctors are not inclined to prescribe pain medication these days so if they do, you likely need it. If you notice any side effects just keep in good communication with your provider to manage them or try another medication for the pain. You are so loved, Jenny!

The hangover is an adrenaline dump I get this after a meltdown. The remedy for panic attack is focusing on love. Love from your family but more so God’s love. Years ago I had panic attacks and I said to God couldn’t cope with this and the room filled with so much love, crazy amount of love so much I couldn’t contain it. Never had a panic attack again that was back in 2004. Hope you can have this experience too. Much love jennfree

Hi Jenny, I deal with a lot less than you do and I have had several panic attacks in the last month. I noticed that they do come on really suddenly it seems like you’re fine then all a sudden you just get terrified. And believe me, I can understand where you’re coming from and I don’t blame you for being scared. I’m not sure they’re panic attacks but they might be since you definitely have caused to have periods of fear. I would probably talk to someone about them to see if there’s anything they can do in case one comes on. I’m praying for you!
