I am re watching Jenny’s journey all over again. It breaks my heart seeing the roller coaster ride she was on for so long!! I don’t know how she fought for so long through treatments, tests, clinical trials, etc. I just admire her bravery so much. And Kyle, what an amazing and supportive husband! My heart breaks that she is gone. ❤❤

This is exactly the reason why I cant ever believe in any kind of "god" or "protector". With all the injustice in this world, all the evil people being perfectly fine and at the same time the most kind and good hearted people have to deal with the most pain. If there actually was a god who CARED about the people, it wouldnt be like this.

I understand that your angry & upset, with pain & suffering in this world & it really does suck. But the context is because of sin at the BEGINNING of mankind, came into the world through the first man Adams disobedience/rebellion against the LORD G0D. In the garden east of Eden God gave Adam trees to eat from & to his wife Eve, who was created FROM Adam being younger than Adam. He was the one who knew better & had more knowledge & understanding than she did. You see, satan knew Eve was younger & naive to things. So he knew he could approach her & deceive her telling her they won't die, if they eat from the tree, that GOD told them NOT to eat from( they could eat the fruit from every other tree planted there, for them, but that one tree of the knowledge of good & evil, they were not to eat the fruit, if they did they would die( which meant eternally & physically) Satan( taking on the form of a serpent, lied & said they wouldn't die, but would be like God, knowing good & evil, GOD is more than just this. Eve ate & encouraged her husband Adam to. But Adam wasn't decieved like Eve, but he disobeyed God & ate from the tree. Yes, their eyes of understanding EVIL & good, were opened, but because of their sin, it bought death into their bodies. They would DIE both spiritually( separated from God) & physically (death, sickness, disease would enter their bodies) From my understanding Death didn't exist until Adams sin.
Before this they were able to eat from the tree of life & live forever.
Sin & death came into mankind's flesh through Adam Sickness, death & suffering. They were given free will by GOD, but also Eve was decieved( the result was sin) & Adam disobeyed GOD. ONLY way for man to be REDEEMED & SAVED from sin & death, ultimately was GOD, coming into the world in the flesh( sinless) through the man Jesus Christ & Him paying the price for our sin debt. For the wages of sin is DEATH. But through the sacrificial Love of God, Jesus willingly laid down His life & took death from us & gave us his life, salvation & eternal life. Through HIS sinless blood, shed for us, we have forgiveness of sins. Now the relationship has been restored between man & GOD the father, Jesus Is that mediator.
We are all Still to die physically( because death is in the flesh), but we NOW can have, forgiveness & ETERNAL LIFE promised by GOD through Jesus Christ. And the sting of death was broken, because it ISN'T permanent death, only of the flesh. We have Victory over sin through the blood of Jesus. If we want this, all we do is believe & trust in Jesus Christ, we confess with our mouth & believe with our heart the Jesus came in the flesh & died for our sins &, rose again on the third day. He went to prepare a place for us in His Father's house, He's seated at the right hand of the father in Heaven..
If we confess our sins to God, he is faithful & just to forgive our sins & cleanse us from ALL Unrighteousness.
Yes Jenny died & that was awful way to suffer & die. But only her flesh died & she's NO longer having to live in this world of suffering & pain. She's FREE of it. She knows no pain or suffering anymore. She's In paradise, WAITING for her family, to join her. And we who believe, will be resurrected to life with them, in our new glorified bodies, like Jesus has. It WON'T be corrupted by sin. WE WILL BE FREE & WHOLE..
Sorry this was long, i just wanted to give you context. God didn't create sin, but made a way out, through Christ.
You are loved, this is the TRUTH.

I’ll never forget this day. I was seething for Jenny. Most of us were. I know she hopped on the day after and expressed she didn’t appreciate the negative backlash from us over the doctors not providing her pain relief, and at the time I became frustrated.
But now I understand that she would have been concerned over damaging her relationship with the doctors that were responsible for trying to keep her alive, and she she didn’t like confrontation, she was gentle, and it would’ve made things very uncomfortable for her to have to face them after they got wind of the backlash.
    It just sucks so much.
I can’t stand it when doctors or nurses dismiss a patients pain. This crap about addiction is not necessary when we’re dealing with something possibly killing you off. You need all the rest you can get and you don’t get any when you’re in chronic intolerable pain that prevents you from sleeping. Not to mention the detrimental effect on your mental state.
I know there’s no point bringing this up now that Jenny has passed. Maybe there is a point.

This opiate crisis has gotten ridiculous! People in chronic pain aren’t addicts! I’ve been on meds for 15 years and I never take or seek more than the doctor gives me. The one’s OD’ing are the one’s using street drugs and not pain patients. Maybe they should stop letting illegals in with Fentanyl? Just a thought!!!🥴🤷🏻‍♀️
As a pain nurse, I have to ask you, do you think that they are stingy with actual pain patients, on the meds, because they are trying to push people into taking the newer drugs that are much more expensive, like Suboxone? I have been pushed by my pain doctor to try it, but I need long acting meds. I’ve seen videos of patients that take it and say that it is so much more addictive than the cheaper ones, and extremely hard to try to get off of, so I’ve stayed away from it and others like it. But, I hate that pain patients suffer because of this stupid fake crisis. Druggies will always find a way to get their next hit, but us patient’s rely on the doctor. I think they are pushing or forcing people to find a dealer, or commit suicide, by not helping them. It makes me very angry😡🤬

Yeah, the health dept in Australia is the same. It's bcos these young people who are poly drug users, sadly have overdosed & found to have opiates & Benzo's in their system. They've usually had alcohol & pot & anything else they can & not just that day, they've likely binged for days til their bodies gave up.
So due to cases like that health depts are coming down on what they deem to be overprescibing & it's managed to affect even terminal patients. Why are govt depts so black & white? What about grey?, like terminal patients, they should be exempt from this sometimes cruel policy.

Jenny and Kyle, What that pulmonologist didn't do for you to keep you from having this horrible pain is something that needs to be addressed with your care team. Someone dropped the ball. That pulmonologist, with his line of questioning, " What happened? Why are you in pain. He could have had a lot more empathy. He should have called your care team when your care you were supposed to get, didn't match up with what he was going to do. when you told him you were supposed to be getting IV pain meds and he said, " no, we're not doing that. " That's why you need Kyle with you. I know you don't like making waves but this pulmonologist failed you and that angers me. This should not have happened like this. You're over the worst of it. Rest, take your meds for pain on time and don't let the pain get to the point that it's intractable.
It's been tough but you are tough. Praying for you, Kyle Little Miss Winny and that sweet young man Ellis. Just rest and regain your strength and equilibrium. You got this and GOD has all of you. ❤

It's completely OK and acceptable to advocate for yourself and it isn't going to hurt anyone's feelings. Just let them know that IV pain management during the thoracentesis is a part of your treatment plan and is not optional. I will continue to lift you, and your precious husband, Kyle, and all of your family up in prayer.

As an understanding and fellow professional patient (not cancer but chronic pain and nausea, etc). I am so sorry the (not YOUR) pulmonologist didn’t listen and denied you the meds (sadly I have been in the same boat many times). For the past 33 years, I have had 45-50 brain surgeries due to a chronic condition with more to come. Within the span of a year I had 30 surgeries, along with many infections. I ended up badly malnourished, unable to walk unassisted, keep any food down requiring a permanent feeding tube.
My pain is completely disregarded (by most ER and providers who don’t know me), I get accused of faking and just being there for the opioids.
My nausea is also 24/7 (if I bother going to the ER, any oral meds definitely a NO! I have to puke to appease them before they listened). I hear all the excuses: too young, don’t seem that sick (when I worked, I faked until I made it through the day).
I understand and hear your frustration. I’m thinking of you and rooting for you!

My friend, I so feel ya. ☹️ chronic pain- sometimes they call us Warriors- - but I never feel like a warrior. I feel like a sufferer. I have fibromyalgia, osteoarthritis and controls, etc. etc. I’ve had two hip replacements and a revision and my knees are totally gone and I’ve needed them replaced five years but I don’t honestly feel like I’m up to that rehab because I am not very well. I think we knowing as much as we do about the struggle we have getting pain meds, that it takes us off even more seeing Jenny in this much pain when she didn’t have to be. It just sickened me. Yeah I’ve been called a drug seeker … all the things. That was back in 2008 after my 2007 hip replacement that went bad. The doctor didn’t believe that my hip hurt me because the “x-ray is perfect”. Then I got the “you’re just here seeking drugs” line. Ugh. It sure looks like you’ve been through the mill, and then again. I’m so sorry 😞 Take care of yourself, as best you can.

I am retired now but after over 40 yrs as a nurse I’ve seen so many things like this and have had so many arguments with Drs over issues like this. It’s not what should happen. I’ve also been a cancer patient and been on the end of long waits, over dosing of epidural drugs and over loading of fluids. I believe I’m only still here because of my training and another patient telling me in my semi conscious state that I was blowing up like a balloon= I stopped the drip and but the emergency button! Even after one team stopped the fluids and got me on diuretics another team did a ward round and tried to restart the drip 🙄. As much as we are all so appreciative of our healthcare, too many things go wrong for many.

Dear Jenny and Kyle, just happened upon you and your story. City of Hope caught my ear because my mother was a patient there in the days when it was a tuberculosis sanitarium. She was in her early thirties when TB got her. She was an inpatient for three years! My two older sisters were placed in foster care because in those days they removed children from the home if TB was involved. The authorities meant well. They felt my mother could not care for the girls, then 5 and 2. The trauma of that separation permeated my family. My mother survived, and she was reunited with her children and my father. I was a total surprise seven years later. We heard about City of Hope as I was growing up but I never went there. However, my mother contributed to it all her life. She lived to be 96! And she was a wonderful mother like you are, Jenny. Miracles still happen and I pray for one for you. You are both just beautiful and despite the sadness, there are moments you get me laughing. The kids are darling. God bless you in your fight and may you win like my mom did. There was no real treatment for TB back then . Just bed rest. She told me that when she had "pleurisy" the doctor came and just stuck a knife in her ribs and twisted it to drain the pus and fluid out. Can you imagine that? I can't. She couldn't even touch her babies but they would come and visit her by playing on the sidewalk and she would look out her window and wave to them from her second floor room. She had a "window bed". That is pain I can't imagine either. I'm watching your video of you lying flat. What a brave girl you are to face your fears. Keep pushing through the fear. Courage is not the absence of fear, but the ability to push through it. You got it going on!

I just watched the new video and went through these comments. First the video was so heartbreaking for everyone to watch. I think all of the comments are coming from a place of caring for you and that they, as a cancer center, have a responsibility to follow through with OV pain meds with this procedure with you no matter what. This is the second time you have gone through excruciating pain and that is not acceptable whatsoever. I would articulate it to them that you are not doing this without proper pain management ever again. Advocate for yourself and have Kyle do it too. This is unacceptable. We all love you and care about this pain that you are enduring. It’s not negative, but it is upsetting that a cancer center did this without proper pain protocol. Unacceptable
