    Hi! Is it true that they give you credit to eat on Nikki beach club? And is the club entrance free?

      Hey! Unfortunately my cruise was Northern Europe out of the U.K., so we didn’t dock at any beach clubs - sorry!

    Great video, what are the drink package costs like?

    • @FraserAtSea
      @FraserAtSea  2 года назад

      Hey, thanks for taking the time to comment! I actually found the drinks prices to be really reasonable - I’d say to expect what you’d see in a typical pub. If you’ve ever sailed with P&O, it’s not too far out from them!

      There are no drink packages. VV has it set up so that you can pre-pay a "bar tab" in advance by calling them or your travel agent. For each $300 you pay on your bar tab, Virgin will add a bonus of $50-$125 depending on their current special. Your bar tab can be used to pay for drinks/specialty teas/specialty coffees for anyone (it is not limited to one person as drink packages on most lines are). However, if you do not spend all of it, there are no refunds at the end. Drink prices are very reasonable ($5-$13), and the prices already include the gratuity. SO, if you and your party would spend $300 or more on beverages, a bar tab in advance is a good thing. If you would have one drink per day, better to just pay it as you go.

      @@kathryncashner3294 Great detail in this answer - thanks very much for taking the time to write that out. I should've been clearer about the lack of a drinks package when I said I found the prices to be good, so thank you!

    Virgin appears to be a better option for a solo traveler. Did they have Solo meet-ups?

    • @FraserAtSea

      They didn’t unfortunately - I’m going to do a review of their solo experience in my video next week - watch this space!

    My pet hate is cheap chairs. I see lots of cheap flimsy chairs in the "galley" buffet or what ever they call it and some of the restaurants. I want to love Virgin and their new take on cruising but too many aspects just don't gel together. Can't help thinking it still remains IKEA at sea. In fact now I think about it that's an injustice to IKEA, their stuff is pretty solid.

      You know, I’d never thought of it like this, but I can totally see where you’re coming from. I would say though - I never found any seating uncomfortable at all, and actually would say the furniture out on the decks was much higher quality than a lot of other cruise lines (loads of sofas out there instead of plastic chairs on the promenade deck, for example).
      I think there’ll be more changes as Virgin listen to feedback though, so ‘watch this space…!’

    i sought out diverse experiences, and was outrageous in my youth, and a lot of this ship appeals to that person, but i have settled into a classy conservatism that thinks a lot of this nonsense is just being different for no reason, and those cabins are just the deal breaker. you must know as a loner yourself part of your day is decompressing alone in your cabin on your sofa, and they don't even bother to make a sofa anymore! and there's hardly any room on the desk thing. the wood on the wall was in fashion in the 1970s of my childhood and is just ugly, the only redeeming feature of the room is the curtains. making the rooms so narrow too was a faux pas. they went so far, why not go all the way and have peep shows and glory holes and a sex swings, bonadage rooms, etc. did you ever consider an atlantis cruise?
