People say bollywood me nepotism hai ye hai wo hai and when an individual jo itna struggle karke upar aya wo ake sach bata raha hai logo ko to people abuse that person aswell. Anurag Kashyap is an inspiration for many film aspirants. This interview just re-inspired me.

An underrated gem from Anurag Kashyap was Ugly - it is a fantastic movie about human egos and pride killing innocence.
He has made very entertaining and gripping movies like Gangs of Wasseypur, Black Friday, Manmarziyaan Dev D, Mukkebaaz, Gulaal, The Girl in Yellow Boots, Gulaal, Raman Raghav 2.0, Bombay Talkies, Lust Stories, Sacred Games (series) etc.
He was also instrumental as a producer in bringing some fantastic movies to the forefront like - Masaan, Queen, Udaan, Lootera, Aamir, Shahid, Lunchbox, NH10, Udta Punjab, Hunterr, Trapped etc.
Apart from this writing some magical movies like Satya, Kaun, Shool, Yuva etc. and dialogues too for various movies.
He is surely one of the most talented people in the Hindi Movie Industry. He deserves a few box office hits for him to get a taste of this too apart from the critical acclaim that he already gets regularly.

Ugly was in my opinion one of the most hard hitting film I’ve ever seen. You won’t believe I never get afraid to go alone even after watching horror movies. But the last seen on Ugly where they show girl’s body, man I literally almost pissed my pants climbing stairs to my room for few days. 😅

Couldn't agree more. Ugly was one the finest original suspense/thrillers in the Hindi film industry. Highly underrated. The end hits you hard, very hard. And that scene at the police station was one the classics. Girish Kulkarni is a genius - one of the most underrated actors as well.

We women don’t have opportunity like men to struggle like them and most of them are wasted. After watching this interview I also want to struggle and shift to Mumbai and wanna try my luck too😊 I may get chance to meet Anurag Kashyap kind of genuine guys who struggled at their initial time and believe in me too and give me also a golden chance to write for them. May God fulfil my wish❤

I only wish that the fire in his belly never extinguishes and he keeps churning out really hatke content, irrespective of the box office results. The bhurji fellow at Cooper was (is) Khurshid. While his bhurji was already famous, his brother had a redi inside the Cooper lane which served an amazing tawa pulao. Those of us who partyed late in the night, these two were our go-to guys for dinner. Then there was the idli guy at Mindspace who was around till the wee hours of the morning.
Cafe Mondegar (or Mondeys) jukebox was peculiarly placed just behind one of the tables, so it was difficult to get to and play something you liked, especially if there was a big, burly guy sitting right in front blocking it, lol. It's really sad to see him struggling with his mental and physical health. It is clearly seen on his face that he must be going through a lots of stress. I hope he finds peace and takes good care of his health. For artist like him it must be difficult to compromise his craft because of the conservative society and political pressure. These kind of things suppress the artist from spreading their wings.

Anurag had so much more to share, but the host kept bringing him back to his scripted questions. This interview could have been so much better.
