    No battery or generator backup?
    You must be kidding.
    This is what happens when you cut corners and strip every penny of profit out of a business.

      They had a generator but it didn't do what they thought it would.
      => THEY NEVER TESTED.

      @ApexCypher_ 16 дней назад +4

      @@lumpyfishgravy Why does that not surprise me. 🤣
      Also, you need multiple generators at any airport. Therefore I don’t buy that the failover didn’t work.
      They should not have a single point of failure.

    • @lumpyfishgravy
      @lumpyfishgravy 16 дней назад

      @@ApexCypher_ It probably worked fine electrically. It was the IT that wobbled and crashed. They should have war-gamed it to prove it worked at a systems level; and if possible test it annually because of the high turnover rate of IT.
      Perhaps "somebody" thought the impact of testing was worse than not testing.

    • @ApexCypher_
      @ApexCypher_ 16 дней назад

      @@lumpyfishgravy I think you’re spot on. I think the IT fell over but they don’t want to admit it. In 2024 you’d think those in charge would see value in building resilience in IT.

    As an ex maintenance engineer I can smell bullshit……..Generators are available & are usually tested every 3 months as part of the PPM schedule. A simple press of a single button on the changeover panel will confirm this. Even with DEI in force any maintenance engineer could fall asleep against the panel & carry out the test!

    Let me get this straight , airports were privatised years ago and the senior managers are often earning £1m salaries ( so the money is certainly there) and even charge you for dropping granny off today , indeed everything about an airport screams ‘ this is going to cost you !’ Yet they have never invested in back up generators ??? Seriously ??? 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
