This happened literally, in my front yard. We live on the top floor, Pontalba St. Peter side. That tree has since been leveled to the ground (it is now July 2024 as I write). Those huge trees are ancient. We lost one over on the St Ann side right after Hurricane Ida. It could not withstand the wind and storm action, due to its being infested for decades... And the inside of those trees will likely reveal significant parasites/termites and rot. All it needed was a gentle push, a strong wind, the force of gravity...and the accident happened. I am deeply saddened to hear this took place. And furthermore, we remember the FIRST falling off of that branch Mr. Bart mentions. I saw that, and we even took a photo, hubby and I thinking, "Uh oh.." Realizing what might happen..And, it did.

It’s sad his visit to New Orleans ends in tragedy! New Orleans is an old city with many infrastructure problems. This city is not kept up to standards of others. It’s a party city for tourist. However I’m this instance they did not keep a young tourist safe. I lived in New Orleans for the past 5 years and I’m pleased to leave. It was probably the worst five years of my life. Many bad memories there.😔
